The President Inhales
Wall Street Journal, by Staff

Original Article

To the delight of dorm rooms everywhere, President Obama has all but endorsed marijuana legalization. "We should not be locking up kids or individual users for long stretches of jail time when some of the folks who are writing those laws have probably done the same thing," he told the New Yorker magazine. Let´s try to see through this political haze. Mr. Obama also muses to an admiring David Remnick that while pot is "a bad habit and a vice" and not something he would encourage his daughters to try, "I don't think it is more dangerous than alcohol." He called the Colorado and Washington legalization experiments "important for society," while offering no comment on the federal Controlled Substances Act that he has an obligation to enforce equally across the country.

No other President throughout US history has ever indicated to the vulnerable in society with a wink and a nod that they are better off smoking a marihuana cigarette then having a beer. That has got to tell you something about this President´s judgement.

The "Obama Theorem" = "Whatever is destructive of US values or interests is something I will support"...use this and you will ALWAYS determine what Obama will support or not support...Keystone Pipeline, US Debt, Fracking, Legalization of Marijuana, drilling in the Gulf, appeasement of Iran, are just a FEW examples

FTA "We should not be locking up kids or individual users for long stretches of jail time when some of the folks who are writing those laws have probably done the same thing," So by that reasoning, we should not lock up murderers because Ted Kennedy killed Mary Jo, we should not lock up inside traders because Congress can do it, we should not lock up those who take bribes because Alcee Hastings is in Congress, we should not lock up tax evaders because Charlie Rangel is in Congress; I could go on and on. What an imbecile this guy is!

This is exactly what happens when the only moral standards you embrace are your own.

Remove the Higher Power from your life and from our culture and all you have left is opinion. That is where this president, this administraion and most of the people in nation is.

There is an underlying purpose for his opinion.
He knows it´s wrong or he wouldn´t have said his daughters were exempt from such freedom. It is our children that he wants to get ´high´ and irresponsible, the easier to manipulate them.

Obama treats the laws of our country with the same disdain he holds for our Constitution. Unfortunately, the majority of voters in this country concur with him.

The list of possible vices is endless.

None should be confused with virtues.

Liberty, however,(young lady),accounts these perils as nothing against the certain devastation in their absence.

It´s called adulthood.

It seems to be an unintended pre-requsite for those aspiring to the lofty goal of principled conservatism.

The letter is addressed to Gazette editor in chief Lucinda Chodan. Slightly edited, the letter reads as follows:

William Levin, a graduate of Yale Law School and former clerk on the D.C. Circuit, manages an investment banking firm. He writes to comment on the case involving the legality of Obamacare subsidies on the 36 federally facilitated exchanges provided to states that have not established their own. Last week D.C. District Judge Paul Friedman ruled that the subsidies provided on these exchanges were legal despite statutory language to the contrary. Judge Friedman’s opinion is posted online here. Mr. Levin comments:

I’m not even going to bother looking up HHS Secretary Sebelius’s comment that the “glitches/kinks” of the Obamacare rollout are analogous to a bad Apple product launch, because, first of all, remember what happened to the guy at Apple who botched AppleMaps? He was promptly fired. The failure of HealthCare.gov is much worse than one failed app: it’s more analogous to the whole darn iPhone failing right out of the box–in which case it wouldn’t have been brought to the market in the first place, because, oh, I don’t know–maybe they test things thoroughly first. It makes all the various infuriating iterations of Windows look like the paragon of clarity and smooth operation by comparison.

The Meaning of Yesterday's Defeat

Yesterday was a comprehensive disaster. Here in Minnesota, to add a local perspective, not only did the state go for Obama–no surprise there–but the Democrats recaptured both houses of the legislature, and voters defeated two ballot initiatives, one on gay marriage and one on voter ID. Similar losses were sustained across the nation, although there were a few bright spots here and there. So yesterday’s defeat was not about a flawed presidential candidate or presidential campaign.

Like him or hate him, there is no disputing that Rush Limbaugh’s very special brand of mixing right-wing politics with his flare for entertainment has produced one of the most successful radio programs in the medium’s long history. Whatever the burning political question of the day, millions of Americans have relished the opportunity to tune into Rush’s program, knowing that he would quickly take that hot potato, throw a few gallons of verbal kerosene into the mix and elevate the matter into a five alarm fire with a just a few well-chosen words spoken in the style only Rush Limbaugh could

When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

I live in Las Vegas. I live and breath Nevada politics. Something is very wrong. Something smells rotten in the Nevada desert. And Senator Harry Reid’s fingerprints are all over it. I am of course referring to the Bundy Ranch siege. This was a dispute between a Nevada ranching family with rights to the land in question for 140 years and the BLM (Bureayu of Land Management). The government claims they haven’t paid grazing fees for 20 years. The result was a government assault on the ranch- including snipers with assault rifles, SUV’s, helicopters, airplanes and over 200 heavily armed troops. No

Look, everyone loves Sean Connery, particularly Sean Connery. That’s why he plays Sean Connery in every movie he’s in. People love that Scottish brogue so much, they don’t mind that he has it when he plays Juan Sánchez Villa-Lobos Ramírez, an immortal Spaniard in Highlander. The guy even won an Oscar for playing an Irish cop with a Scottish accent. Talk about sexist double standards: Meryl Streep has to master foreign dialects to get her golden statuettes. Connery just has to show up on time. In economics you devalue a currency by printing too much of it. In film you

Out of left field, the state Republican Party, or the Brown campaign, or some blogger, would launch a rocket at me,” Warren wrote, adding, ”I was stunned by the attacks.” This reporter (blogger?) reported extensively

WASHINGTON — Former President Jimmy Carter joined fellow Nobel laureates Wednesday in opposing Keystone XL, insisting that approving the pipeline would trigger “more climate upheaval” around the globe. In an open letter to President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry, Carter and the nine other Nobel Peace Prize winners bluntly warned the leaders: “Your decision on the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline will define your climate legacy.” The missive, published as an advertisement in Politico, represents the first time Carter has taken a position on the $5.4 billion project and makes him the first former president to come

With Easter soon approaching, the Rev. Al Sharpton on Wednesday drew parallels between the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the resurrection of President Obama’s political career. Joining the “Tom Joyner Morning Show,” Mr. Sharpton said that his message for this Easter is that “no matter what the world may do to you unfairly, no matter how you’re crucified — nailed to the cross at home, or in your personal relationships, or on the job — that you can rise if you don’t lose yourself during the hard times and the challenges.” The reverend went on to say that Christ endured so much humiliation and unearned suffering leading up to his death,

As for "blight removal," perhaps they could start with city hall. Climate change’s latest casualty appears to be fish — or more specifically, fish brains — as researchers say the carbon dioxide that’s being absorbed into the ocean is causing the scaly creatures to lose their survival instincts. In other words, the fish are losing their minds, The Daily Mail reported. The acid from atmospheric carbon dioxide seeps into sea waters, dissolves and ultimately lowers the pH balance, researchers said. The acidic waters then hamper the fishes’ sensory systems, so they’re not able to distinguish between smells any longer, the scientists went on. When the acid levels get really high, the fish lose their
