Snow doesn’t hinder March for Life

It might have started 40 years ago as an impromptu gathering, but organizers of the annual March for Life want you to know: This isn’t your grandparents’ rally. Every January for the past 40 years, a large group of anti-abortion advocates has gathered on the National Mall and then marched to the Supreme Court to mark the anniversary of Roe v. Wade. Organizers say their participants in the past few years have numbered from 200,000 to 400,000, a large part of whom are young people, and yet they remain perplexed why one of the largest demonstrations in Washington, D.C., gets

Every year in rain, snow and bitter cold they come to March for Life. Every year the press either ignores them or gives them a sentence.
Meanwhile 55 million children have been killed.

It´s horrific.

I had seats reserved for the trip to DC but the bus from Long Island was cancelled. This will be the first march I´ve missed in 4 years. :-(

I am so glad to see these wonderful people willing to go to Washington and stand in the brutal cold.

God Bless All Of Them

Kopan goes on and on about young people at the March, but it has always been that way. I´ve attended the March more times than I can remember and have stood in the snow and slid on the ice with thousands upon thousands of young people. My daughter attended her first March in a stroller at age 2, with a sign that said, "I´m adopted. Both my moms chose life". Some of those young people wear shirts that say, "I survived Roe v. Wade". Says it all, doesn´t it?

Kopan keeps referring to the marchers as anti-abortion. I always find it interesting that pro-lifers have no problem with being called "anti-abortion", but pro-abortion people don´t like to be called "anti-life". It tells me that, in their hearts, they know they are wrong.

Reading and seeing (especially evident in yearly March for Life) that there is a lot of young new blood in the Pro-Life Movement. I don´t think there is an equal amount of young people represented in the Pro-Abortion Movement. Of course, they have much more money, but that doesn´t always mean they´ll win in the end.

And count me as one that simply will NOT change the English language in order to soften the message. You are either PRO-ABORTION or ANTI-OBORTION, period. All of this other language is intended to soften the procedure which, IMHO, should be considered as 1st degree murder. I know that sounds harsh, but so is the procedure. A life has been terminated. And in the overwhelming cases, it´s just another form of contraceptive. It´s those who want to go out and have total unrestricted sex and damn the consequents. Just run to you local abortionist and volia! problem solved. It´s sickening.

The tragedy of abortion is the taking of a human life, an action that can become a spiritual tragedy for women and men wounded by abortion decisions. Denying human life is to deny God, Creator of human life. Baptized believers cannot be separated from God’s love and forgiveness (Romans 8:31-39).
One sin is unforgiveable: “Truly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the children of man, and whatever blasphemies they utter, but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin”— (Mark 3:28-29)
Go and sin (abortion) no more. (Paraphrasng John 8:11)

#8 – There is a cure for Abortion Remorse. The cure is Jesus Christ and His redemptive love.

Rachel’s Vineyard offers healing through religious retreats, referrals to pro-life therapists and understanding pastors.

Priests for Life minister the healing Sacrament of Reconciliation, engage in life affirming counseling, and encourages pastors and priests to preach against abortion from the pulpit.

40 Days for Life organizes peaceful prayer vigils outside abortion mills with sidewalk counselors able to refer abortion-minded women to pro-life clinics that will support them through a crisis pregnancy. Since 2004 scores of abortion mills where vigils were held have closed, many because of a “lack of business” or they cannot find a doctor to perform the procedure, and many abortion mill workers have left their jobs.

Silent No More is an organization giving post-abortion women and men a forum to voice to their painful remorse and give testimony to how participation in an abortion harms women and men. For every one of those 55 million babies there are 55 million women and 55 million men who know the anguish of broken lives changed forever because they, in their fear and vulnerability, believed the lies of the pro-abortion activists. Women and men who have participated in an abortion suffer drug/alcohol abuse, inability to form meaningful relationships, promiscuity, and addiction to pornography for men. Many are still in denial, many are still silent because the pro-abortion proponents dismiss their testimony as only “unwarranted guilt imposed by the woman-hating patriarchy,” and their fear of a condemning judgment by people who will define them only by the sin they committed in their weakness.

I know, and I am Silent No More.

Forgive this second post, but this is what I wanted to say before I saw the comment on no cure for abortion remorse.

Those in the Republican Party that advocate that the “social issue” of abortion should not be taken up by the Party, because they are afraid of the MSM blowback, are complicit with the pro-abortion lobby in allowing this holocaust to continue. Silence is consent.

If not moved by the moral imperative of standing for life, perhaps they will be moved by the number of potential voters represented by the young people who have survived Roe v. Wade. They know they are missing siblings, cousins, aunts and uncles, friends, and potential spouses. They know that any life that is dismissed means that all life is diminished and put in peril. The people of this country are moving away from the horror of abortion and embracing the joy of standing for life.

Future generations will be unable to comprehend the Culture of Death that America embraced in the 20th century, just as we “moderns” find it incomprehensible that at one time the “peculiar institution” of slavery condoned the owning of black people in the 19th century.

1858 – The Whig Party didn’t want to get involved with the “social issue” of slavery and were replaced by the Republican Party.

2014 – The Republican Party establishment didn’t want to get involved with the “social issue” of abortion and will be replaced as well.

#16 – Indeed, silence can be construed as consent and, with such silence, congressional Republicans have been complicit in the moral and legislative deterioration of this country. Abortion is a sin—it is a human life issue, not a political issue. When nations turn away from God and are mired in sin, God turns away allows that nation to suffer the consequence of their sin. Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day.
