Why a Feminist Heroine Revised Her Bio

Has there ever been a more meteoric rise to national political prominence than that of Wendy Davis? A year ago Davis was so obscure a Democratic Texas state senator that even savvy liberal Beltway pundits couldn’t have picked out of a police lineup. But her June 25 filibuster of a bill limiting late-term abortions and imposing more rigorous safety standards on clinics catapulted her to superstardom in the national liberal media. The legislation she managed to stop that day eventually passed (and has, despite the expectations of many liberals, largely survived judicial scrutiny) but Davis’s stand had already made her

Hey Wendy--tell the truth!

In this day and age will suffer for lying because people have recordings and video of what you say.

The media has not bought in like they have for the Liar in Chief because you do not have the power to help them with the socialist agenda.

They masterfully put the pharoah in place for YEARS, and he has more "faulty memory" and plays the ´blame game´ with absolute finesse.

If you cannot run on the truth, you will sink your campaign before you even start.

I remain puzzled as to why the Dallas Morning News torpedoed her. As other L-Dotters have pointed out, the DMN is a reliable supporter of all things liberal and leftist.I would have thought they would cover for her as long as possible. The Houston Chronicle wrote about her last fall and no one noticed, but she hadn´t yet announced for the governorship. Texas Democrats were frantic to find a candidate and they made a mistake with Davis. Even without the lies, she wasn´t going to measure up against Greg Abbott.

When you look at the facts of the law she opposed, you have to ask yourself if women really are that stupid and self-destructive. Sadly, the answer is yes. A lot of that law was for the protection and safety of the woman.
And most of the "feminists" I have read about, built their success on the backs or with the help, of powerful men. Look at suze orman´s(sp?) real biography for one example.

A new report in the DMN says this:

"Meanwhile, another potential question about Davis’ past comes from the Facebook page of her mother, Ginger Cornstubble, which references attending Muleshoe High School in West Texas. That contradicts a 2012 suggestion by Davis that her mother had just a sixth grade education.

The Davis campaign said Monday that her mother “had attended school only into the ninth grade.”

John Kerry, our secretary of state, is very angry with Israel. “Poof,” he said on Tuesday — describing how Israel destroyed his “peace process” the other week. Just like that. The first thing to say is that if a peace process can go “poof,” it can’t have been much of a peace process. Any serious discussion in which two parties are motivated to reach a negotiated arrangement wouldn’t be susceptible to going up in smoke all at once. That would indicate it never had any form or substance to begin with. And how on earth was it Israel who made

Obamacare is on the rise and on a roll again, as its backers will tell you, having passed the 7 million mark in enrolling the uninsured (although it´s really 5.9 million or so, and most of those enrolled had been insured already), but it´s back on its feet. Congress´s investigation into IRS political targeting accelerated Wednesday, with a referral for the criminal prosecution of a former Treasury official and new evidence to back it up. In a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder, House Ways and Means Chairman Dave Camp recommends the Justice Department proceed on three probable criminal actions taken by former director of Exempt Organizations Lois Lerner. The letter, which was endorsed in a party-line Ways and Means vote Wednesday morning, discloses new evidence suggesting that Ms. Lerner used her position to single out conservative groups for scrutiny not applied to left-leaning groups. Some people can’t take “no” for an answer. Often that’s an admirable quality. But when you are a witness at the center of a congressional investigation, and the “no” reflects the House Oversight Committee’s decision not to accept your refusal to testify, then it’s not quite so simple. And that is where Lois Lerner, the former Internal Revenue Service official at the center of the IRS scandal, now finds herself. Lerner’s case is by now well known. From 2006 to 2013, she was the IRS’s Director of Exempt Organizations, vested with power to decide which nonprofit organizations receive tax-exempt status, which

How does the Republican Party establishment choose its presidential candidate? Typically, constitutionalists accuse their establishment rivals of being moderate, risk-averse, stubborn old fools who lack faith in conservative principles. This is a soothing interpretation, as it begins from the hypothesis that the contest between conservatives and the GOP elite is a family feud. But there is another hypothesis -- less soothing, but, at least from an outsider´s bird´s-eye view, more reconcilable with the facts. This hypothesis is that America has reached a stage of progressive soft despotism in which the only important family feud in national politics is between the fundamentally

A caveat right off the bat: RAND’s estimate only runs through March 28 whereas the actual deadline for signing up was March 31st. Given the crush of traffic on Healthcare.gov in late March, many more people could have signed up over those last three days than were captured by these numbers. On the other hand, the White House was claiming six million sign-ups as of March 27. There’s no way to reconcile that with RAND’s data. One of them is wrong. Maybe both, in fact. My first published column was in a local paper opposing the Equal Rights Amendment for the same reasons that Phyllis Schlafly, a conservative lawyer, campaigned on. As ambiguously written, the ERA, would eliminate the men-only draft requirement, repeal protective laws like sexual assault and eliminate the tendency for mothers to obtain custody over their children in divorce cases. Ironically, one of the arguments that helped sink the amendment from ratification was the fear that single-sex bathrooms would no longer be permitted. In addition, opponents of the amendment also warned that it would lead to abortion on demand and same-sex marriages.
