SC Tea Party Convention: Louie

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) called on grassroots conservatives and Tea Partiers across the country to organize and fight back against the GOP establishment’s efforts to stamp out the movement during his speech to the South Carolina Tea Party Convention here on Sunday morning. Gohmert argued that conservatives need a ground game and an organized strategy to stop House Speaker John Boehner, Karl Rove, and the Chamber of Commerce from destroying the Tea Party movement. He rendered a lengthy quote from the infamous scene in the classic movie Animal House, where Bluto riles up the fraternity to fight back against the

Any poster on this thread that is on a first name basis with any establishment GOP senator or Congressman should admit their conflict of interest before criticizing either Louie Gohmert or the Tea Party.

Of the four Tea Party candidates (Bright, Mace Cash, and Connor), has it been decided yet who´s the real deal? And if they´re all Tea Party candidates, why are they biting one another´s heads off? What´s the argument here? Aren´t they all supposed to be in favor of the same goals?

We need to find a group of elected Republicans willing to switch party affiliation to "Tea". Ross Perot was able to start a party, so why can´t we?

The GOP is useless.

Too bad the newbys waste their political capitol and gives us Hitlary but consider the mindset. They are never wrong so how can what they want politically be wrong?

I wish they would ask Ross Perot what he thinks of taking out the establishment--we hjaven´t been the same since Ross Perot and the discontents gave us Bill Clinton.

This tactic is as amateurish as Palin´s desire to keep the primary going up to the convention.(But maybe I am too kind to her--she may have been counting on a second round acclamation for herself).

Obama used the long primary to define Romney while Romney was not by law able to spend his money targeted for the general.

God help us--we need a miracle or a survivalist cave. I will have to make do with rock art and an abacus--mourning already for my computer and electricity.

Only a couple of years ago (after years of supporting mainline Republican candidates) I came to the crystal clear realization that the Republican Party leaders were every bit as much enemies of liberty as the Democratic Party. The Republican leaders and the Democratic leaders are in bed together.

Don´t send money to the RNC. Don´t vote for country club Republicans... they will surely betray you.

The Republican Establishment needs to get another playbook. It to late to put the toothpaste back into the tube. You can bring up Ross Perot, the liberal apocalypses if a per-approved Establishment lackey isnt selected, and even defend the attempts of the establishment to limit the time their guy is exposed to having to face a challenger in the primary and less time to raise money to fund their campaigns. We have seen it all before. But this time we know better.

The Republican Establishment better pray that amnesty somehow attracts enough legal-illegals to cover the loss of conservatives of every strip finally making a stand and taking back their votes to vote for someone who earns it.

By all means please continue to stomp your feet pitching a frothing fit. I , like many others, simply no longer give a damn. We see you for what you are and know to continue to vote for you is to condone your behavior.

Not this time Skippy!

Tea Parties are not only fighting the entrenched and well-funded GOP Establishment: they are also fighting IRS 501(c)4 rules.

Time for the Tea Parties, Libertarians, Constitutionalists, etc. to coalesce into a new (Section 527?) political party. Sacrifice the tax deductions and save the country. Take the tax and privacy "hits" and be free to do what it will take. This sacrifice still pales compared to that of our brave troops. Time is running short for us to make our move.

Let the new party endorse conservative GOP candidates and oppose RINOs in the general elections. If we lose a few elections then so be it: we must get the GOP Establishment out of the way. They are part of the problem, not the solution. In the long run, the country will be better off if they go the way of the Whigs.

By now most people are familiar with the potentially deadly situation emerging at the Bundy ranch in Nevada. Right now, the back-story is not nearly as important as the immediate necessity to de-escalate this life-and liberty threatening situation, although it does play an important role and must be addressed. The fact that this situation could have been pulled from the script of the 1974 movie Chinatown or any of the Godfather movies is well known and must be exposed, but not before immediate action is taken to assure the preservation of life and liberty. The current critical nature of the crisis cannot

Two of Nevada’s top elected leaders are riding to the rescue of a rancher whose decades-long range war with the federal government has reached a boiling point in recent days. The federal Bureau of Land Management has surrounded the Clark County ranch of Cliven Bundy with armed officers, helicopters and four-wheel drive vehicles. Last week, they began seizing cattle found grazing on adjacent federal lands in violation of a law meant to protect an endangered desert tortoise. “No cow justifies the atmosphere of intimidation which currently exists nor the limitation of constitutional rights that are sacred to all Nevadans.”

Many Americans have been watching with great consternation the ongoing struggle between the Federal Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the U.S. Marshals against Cliven Bundy and his family. In fact, the reality of the dispute goes far underneath what is being talked about. The more appropriate source of the dispute is ground water as well as surface water -- this is a war over water. The continuing battle between the establishment and antiestablishment forces within the Grand Old Party is getting bitter. Scott Reed, a chief political strategist for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, quips that the antiestablishment Club for Growth has morphed into the “Club for Dopes.” Club for Growth spokesman Barney Keller charges that the head of a Washington-based pro-incumbent political group, the Main Street Republican Partnership, “may have eaten a lot paint chips as a kid.” Maybe that is what happens in any family feud. A rapid shift to wind and solar power is needed if the world is to avoid catastrophic global warming, the United Nations warns in a crucial report today. Emissions of greenhouse gases need to be cut by up to 70 per cent before 2050 to control climate change, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) says. ‘Large-scale changes in energy systems’ are required, with coal power stations to be switched off and replaced by wind and solar. And the transformation needs to be made in the next 15 years or controlling climate change will become increasingly harder and more expensive. The report was published

It’s hardly been a secret that in recent years the moderate center of the Democrat party has been driven away and what remains is a conglomeration of disparate blocs which, to date, the party has been able to treat as if there were no conflicting interests between them. As the midterm elections approach and the administration’s incompetence, along with the distaste for the president’s signature ObamaCare legislation, drive the party’s chances down further, the make-believe coalition of opposites may well crumble if the opposition doesn’t blow it.
