The best line of the day comes from “Obama’s Belated Defense of the NSA,” Andrew McCarthy’s reflection on Obama’s speech about spooks, spying, and national security yesterday. No, it’s not his characterization, toward the end of his essay, of Obama’s behavior as a “toxic mix of passive unseriousness and active harm.” That’s the second-best line of the day, a grimly accurate summary of what this Potemkin President is all about. But the best line comes at the top, at the very beginning of McCarthy’s column: “It is very hard to take President Obama seriously.” Bingo. The architect of “the most transparent

"The first postmodern president"-- I remember my co-workers saying that as if it were a good thing, but postmodernism is all about untruth: There are no facts, only interpretations of facts. Therefore, a postmodern person can´t be trusted and should never be elected to anything.

"Taps" should be the title of the article.

FTA"What we are witnessing is not only a concerted attack on the Constitution (how abstract that sounds) but also an assault on our way of life: our habits of individual liberty and free enterprise, our assumption of national security and global prerogative. The hour is late. Who will recall us from our dogmatic slumbers?"

Certainly not the Republican Party! They are helping obama by funding and trying to "fix". obamacare. Now Speaker Boner is going to side with the Democrats on granting amnesty. "We the people" want neither obamacare nor amnesty yet we are getting both. Hillary looks like the next President with the msm doing everything they can to help her. Taps is more appropriate because when amnesty is granted and obamacare is fully implemented the Republic will be finished. We will become a one party country like Venezuela.

This article begins with a litany of Obama’s disasters, and then the author says he cannot understand why the American people aren’t more outraged:

FTA: “But here’s the thing: the criticism never seems to get traction. It bounces around in the echo chamber of conservative angst but never seems to penetrate into the broader consciousness. To me, it is astounding that Obama has (so far) weathered the scandal of Benghazi with only minimal damage. I cannot understand how his deployment of the IRS as a political weapon can proceed without instigating widespread demonstrations, if not worse. How is it, I’ve wondered, that Obama can have blatantly lied about so many aspects of Obamacare without there being a serious backlash? I am really at something of a loss.”

Of course, the reason for this mess is that the media has either failed in its duty to protect our country or is deliberately complicit in our nations’ destruction. We have given our nation’s airwaves to our nation’s enemies. And those airwaves are being used to corrupt our youth, destroy our religion, weaken our military, pervert our democratic elections, and celebrate obscenity and perversion.

We may, if we are lucky, get rid of this mess of a Democratic administration and replace it with Ted Cruz and the Republicans who hopefully will dramatically change the direction of our country. But, unless we tear out this media, root and branch, we are a doomed nation.

# 4 is so right. The Republican Party is in need of dynamic leaders but the majority of them, I believe, love America but can´t seem to be able to talk and even if they can speak and become a threat to the socialist; the msm goes into an their attack mode ...i.e. Christi, Cruz, Palin, Romney and down they go.

The msm is, mainly, responsible for Obama´s election, reelection, the reason nothing sticks to him. It is fact that the msm are enemies of our nation...siding with, lying for, not reporting and helping to undermine our Constitution and our way of life. As # 4 indicated, it is practically impossible to win a presidential election, if the msm is on the same team that socialist party is championing. They always are but many "no"comprehend...thanks, partly, to our pitiful public educational system.

So just what were we expecting?...America now has an undocumented POTUS, from the teeming streets of Jakarta, Indonesia, with unlimited access to our nation´s most guarded secrets, who couldn´t pass the background security clearances necessary to work in The White House basement laundry room folding bed sheets!

Do not concede that Obama is unhurt. I don´t believe that for a minute. Their is a quiet fury brewing...People are quiet now because they do not feel they can speak and/or have no one to "rally ´round". Their actions this Fall will do that for them...we´ll see. Ted Cruz provided a rallying point last Fall....which leads to one of the problems, Roger. Imho, the republican party elites/crony capitalists have betrayed so many. This says what a lot of us are feeling. We essentially are seeing lawlessness and lies as the principal WH product, and yet there is comparatively little pushback. Why? I place most of the blame on an educational system which demonizes good judgment, labeling it ´judgmental´. When no one but a few exercise good judgment, the LSM get a pass and are not held to account. Everyone turns to Facebook and takes selfies. Lasch´s Culture of Narcissism is alive and well and Fauxbama proceeds on his merry way without criticism. We haven´t yet reached the level of enormity which will get peoples´ attention. Perhaps another thirty thousand health insurance cancellations will open an eye or two.

We always seem to arrive at the conclusion that the only way out of our Obama-caused disasters is the next election but that process has also been compromised. Against all expectations, he "won" in 2012 and there was wide detection of election fraud and cheating, very little of which has been challenged.

We can no longer trust our legal system, tax collection system and our national system of election, therefore, our only way out of our situation lies outside of current legal means. Yes, I´m talking force. A government willing to break the law at will invites its citizens to do the same.

It is essential to realize that both Obama and the MSM are fellow travelers trying to create the setting that will allow a revolution bringing in a communist/socialist government. Taking over the press, the schools, the unions and at least 1 of the two major political parties were early steps. The attached Communist Party´s goals list that was read into the Congressional Record of 1963.

Obama´s main goals are two fold. First to move massive numbers of American from self-dependence to government-dependence. Next, to shift the US from a global leader to just one of the guys (don´t come to us, go to the UN).

Can we believe anything said by, the usual suspects, ruthless, self serving, Washington "elite" insiders ?
They´ve ALL run us into well over two hundred trillion dollars of debt, are printing money out of thin air to give to the more favored elite few, all of these elites want to legalize, give new legalized rights to, 30 million illegal labor class aliens, force allAmericans to part with most of the money they earn, in the form of endless local, state and federal income and OUTGO consumption taxes, and now these elites are all moans and groaning about citizens questioning government secretly spying on it´s very own working citizens!

Connect the dots. Right or wrong, NSA and IRS, are working together to trample on the rights of conservatives, whoever they don´t like. Proven, the IRS
selects individuals and groups they despise, makes their life a lonely financial hell. Is it conceivable that NSA is not a part of this IRS totalitarian hate conspiracy ?

And what happens when you have only one party? You don´t need any more elections. All you need is a dictator to issue executive orders and regulations about how we will live our lives. But wait, that is no problem - we already have that position filled.

So everything is going along fine as planned by the powers that be. But there is at least one redeeming factor in all of this - election fraud will no longer exist.

What a pair of articles, McCarthy above and Kimball here. What a comparison!

And within this thread, there is contrast, too, from #3 sadly saying, "´Taps´ should be the title of the article," to #9 boldly stating, "We can no longer trust our legal system, tax collection system and our national system of election, therefore, our only way out of our situation lies outside of current legal means."

These LDotters reflect our own agony. Do we roll over and give up ("Too late. The U.S.A. frog is boiled.")? Or do we get off our collective arses and do something...civil or uncivil disobedience?

To paraphrase Pogo: "I have met the enemy and he is we."

When all else fails, we can always pose the question WWABD? [What would Andrew Breitbart do?] I think we know the answer to that.

Obama is a strange combination of deeply unserious and profoundly dangerous. The reason he gets away with it is because he supports the liberal social agenda--gay marriage and abortion. Those are the only two things that matter to most liberals. They don´t care if he engages in war (Libya), laughs about killing people with drones, is indifferent when our Ambassador is murdered and lies about it to boot, lies about his horrible health care plan, and manages to extend a bad economy for 6 years and counting. And being perceived as, if not anti-Christian, then at least wholly secular is a bonus to his liberal fans.

Advice to Democrats: Don´t say ´recovery´

WASHINGTON - Election-year memo to Democratic candidates: Don´t talk about the economic recovery. It´s a political loser. So say Democratic strategists in a blunt declaration that such talk skips over "how much trouble people are in, and doesn´t convince them that policymakers really understand or are even focusing on the problems they continue to face." In addition, Stan Greenberg, James Carville and others wrote that in head-to-head polling tests the mere mention of the word "recovery" is trumped by a Republican assertion that the Obama administration has had six years to get the economy moving and its policies haven´t worked. Bearing a small American flag on its tail, the aircraft was parked in a highly visible section of Mehrabad Airport in Tehran. Saying they can no longer ignore the rising prices of health care, some of the most influential medical groups in the nation are recommending that doctors weigh the costs, not just the effectiveness of treatments, as they make decisions about patient care. The shift, little noticed outside the medical establishment but already controversial inside it, suggests that doctors are starting to redefine their roles, from being concerned exclusively about individual patients to exerting influence on how health care dollars are spent. “We understand that we doctors should be and are stewards of the larger society as well as of the patient in

Hillary Clinton may end up deciding she wants to spend the 935 days until election 2016 making corporate speeches and spoiling her grandchild. Recent events have exposed weaknesses in Clinton’s supposedly impregnable armor, gaps through which a Democratic or Republican challenger could damage, perhaps even defeat her. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'

WASHINGTON — Former President Jimmy Carter joined fellow Nobel laureates Wednesday in opposing Keystone XL, insisting that approving the pipeline would trigger “more climate upheaval” around the globe. In an open letter to President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry, Carter and the nine other Nobel Peace Prize winners bluntly warned the leaders: “Your decision on the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline will define your climate legacy.” The missive, published as an advertisement in Politico, represents the first time Carter has taken a position on the $5.4 billion project and makes him the first former president to come

It’s the stuff of Westerns: a showdown on the desert plains, the big bad government against an underdog farmer. Though the story has only grabbed national headlines in the past several days, rancher Cliven Bundy has illegally grazed cattle on the Nevada land surrounding his farm for over 20 years. He hasn’t paid grazing fees since 1993, and refuses to renew the necessary grazing permit.(Snip)Rather than using the avenues and pathways presented to him, Bundy has staunchly declared his own law and allegiances. Unfortunately, reality doesn’t work this way. If only it did—we could rebel for paying stupid taxes, refuse to

With Easter soon approaching, the Rev. Al Sharpton on Wednesday drew parallels between the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the resurrection of President Obama’s political career. Joining the “Tom Joyner Morning Show,” Mr. Sharpton said that his message for this Easter is that “no matter what the world may do to you unfairly, no matter how you’re crucified — nailed to the cross at home, or in your personal relationships, or on the job — that you can rise if you don’t lose yourself during the hard times and the challenges.” The reverend went on to say that Christ endured so much humiliation and unearned suffering leading up to his death,

The cash infusion by the federal government is actually going to help the city pay pensions, even though they´re playing a kind of shell game with the money. As for "blight removal," perhaps they could start with city hall. Reuters: Michigan officials and President Barack Obama´s Administration are discussing a plan to free up $100 million in federal money to aid Detroit´s retired city workers, the Detroit Free Press reported on Tuesday. Citing two people familiar with the talks, the newspaper said the talks were centered around federal money flowing to Michigan for blight removal. Under the plan, $100 million
