In new film, a dramatic look at
Mitt Romney´s loss of confidence

Washington Examiner, by Byron York

Original Article

Posted By:Flyright, 1/18/2014 4:58:11 PM

A new documentary about Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney premiered Friday night at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah. The film, "Mitt," is an extraordinarily intimate look at the former Massachusetts governor as he ran for president twice, in 2008 and 2012. Director Greg Whiteley had impressed Romney with his 2005 documentary "New York Doll," which brilliantly chronicled a broken-down rock musician´s conversion to Mormonism, and for the new film, Romney gave Whiteley unprecedented freedom to record behind-the-scenes moments as the candidate and his family endured the trials of two presidential campaigns. Some of the film´s themes are not exactly new.

Romney´s Christian humility and his honesty were campaign weaknesses in a race where Democrats fight to win in life and death battles. Too often Republican campaigns are let by gentlemen who can´t fight hard enough to win.

If he had all these doubts that he couldn´t overcome, he had no business running in the primary.

Shame on him. I´m even more disgusted now than I was watching the second and third debates. He may very well have cost us our country.

A timid and insecure nobody whose notoriety came from his family name, just like Bush.
Let his fans weep but mercifully history will quickly ignore this loser. His one achievement was in exposing the GOP Establishment as the corrupt incompetents they have always been.

A thoroughly depressing read. Can´t understand that he achieved in life what he did and was unable to take this fraud down. I still believe something is missing in this article that I heard on a talk show. Zero had something on Romney and used it. NSA is only spying on us? I don´t think so. Whatever they had, zero´s people blackmailed Romney. He just should not have run because the clown in the WH was very low hanging fruit to be taken down!

He wasn´t up to the bigtime.

I have some suspicions he wasn´t up to the smalltime, either, that his vulture capital "successes" and his governorship, were simply his being an empty suit with a famous name.

And, no doubt, he was afraid to call a spade a spade, he was afraid that if he did anything effective it would be unfairly but effectively denounced as racism. And that was probably right. And he had no answer for it. And so, he lost. Bigtime.

Then why did he run as a Republican? Our country´s going down the toilet, and this is the second guy in a row who doesn´t even like his own party.

Where are all the nasty Romneybots who told us he was the only one who could win? He didn´t think he could win!!!

Excuse mongers are at the barricades w/their usual paranoia, viz; blackmail, voter fraud, Mormon bigotry, Sun flares on Planet Narnia etc. Fantasies assuage the feeble mind while truth purges and strengthens it. Cold reality is that Willard was a shockingly incompetent candidate unworthy of our great nation. Principled conservatives warned of him from day one. Like Bush, he was utterly lacking in a primary attribute of leadership; the discernment and will to inspire!
*Does history refer to, Julius Caesar the Compassionate???
*Ever heard of, Napoleon the Nice????
*Think Von Bismarck ever made a speech in the Reichstag referring to 1000 points of light??
Great Nations need great leaders to sustain them in times of adversity and trial. Otherwise, they do not remain great, as Gibbon observed of Imperial Rome. We have eight years of Obama because of Bush and Romney!!!!!

The author of the Twilight of Abundance, David Archibald, sent an email a few days ago, saying “there is a whole new world coming.” Archibald, who’s an Australian, warns in his book that the world is running out of food, energy and security. Where he differs from Malthus, however, is in arguing that the shortages are the consequence of policy, rather than the inherent limitations of the universe. The world is doing everything it can to run in the opposite direction of abundance because we think we have too much. The West dreads warmer weather, even though warmer weather might

The Clinton Library took the wraps off another batch of White House documents Friday afternoon, offering new insights into how aides scrambled to address the Monica Lewinsky scandal, how the hot-button issue of race tied the White House staff up in knots and how former President Bill Clinton cast a wide net for advice in advance of his major speeches. The new set of Clinton documents make little mention of then-first lady Hillary Clinton, and so are unlikely to have a major political impact. WASHINGTON — The online insurance marketplace in Oregon is such a technological mess that residents have been signing up for health coverage by hand. In Texas, political opposition to President Obama’s health law is so strong that some residents believe, erroneously, that the program is banned in their state. But in Connecticut, a smoothly functioning website, run by competent managers, has successfully enrolled so many patients that officials are offering to sell their expertise to states like Maryland, which is struggling to sign people up for coverage.
