What were once vices
are now Dem priority

Power Line, by Scott Johnson

Original Article

Posted By:MDMuskrat, 1/18/2014 11:46:53 AM

Kimberly Strassel’s weekly Wall Street Journal column “IRS targeting and 2014? is something of a bombshell. As Mark Tapscott explains, Strassel reports that keeping the IRS “muzzle in place” for 2014 was Obama’s top priority during negotiations with House Republicans on the just-passed omnibus spending bill. (snip) In other words, the Obama administration seeks to achieve legally by regulation in 2014 what it achieved illegally by agents acting under orders in the 2012 election cycle. What were once vices are now to become the law.

Comments:
´Legal´ vote suppression of conservatives is the most important domestic issue of the moment, methinks.

The Tea Party and conservative groups were no threat to democrats in 2012. The Tea Party was a mortal threat to the GOP and scared the daylights out of them in years leading up to 2012. Still does apparently since GOP and their lobbyist pals are in the process of spending millions to defeat the TP in 2014. Obama´s gift of IRS services has been appreciated by the GOP. John Boehner gained especially from Obama´s help. Right after Obama´s re-election Boehner lectured his new class that the GOP lost badly, Obama won, the nation spoke, we must do what Obama wants. Boehner soldier Dave Camp is mentioned in this article as reported by WSJ´s Strassel defending the Tea Party which is of course a joke and for show. He despises the Tea Party as much as his boss Boehner does. Camp´s statements had no chance of influencing voting on the IRS measure even if he had wanted them to. Another victory for the UniParty. Camp can say, see I stuck up for the TP. When it couldn´t possibly help anyone but him.

The keen understanding as to how certain things came about is one thing. The important question is, "what do we do about it in order to stop it?".

Try getting rid of Rino´s in the primaries, but come election day if Rino is still in place make sure to vote republican. Not voting or voting 3rd party is just as bad as voting for the dem/socialist party.

If you plan to donate or campaign for any Tea Party candidate, do it well before the 90 day black-out (muzzle) timeline set by the irs.

Perhaps this will be the first time in our lifetimes when the irs arrests and imprisons Tea Party leaders for not adhering to the Muzzle they put in place.

Labor unions are, of course, exempt from such muzzling.

The most terrifying aspect of the collapse of US power worldwide is the US’s indifferent response to it. In Europe, in Asia, in the Middle East and beyond, America’s most dangerous foes are engaging in aggression and brinkmanship unseen in decades. As Gordon Chang noted at a symposium in Los Angeles last month hosted by the David Horowitz Freedom Center, since President Barack Obama entered office in 2009, the Chinese have responded to his overtures of goodwill and appeasement with intensified aggression against the US’s Asian allies and against US warships.

Deserts always feel like my natural habitat, and I am very fond of them. That being said, I have, for my sins, spent a fair amount of time in Clark County, Nev., and it is not the loveliest stretch of desert in these United States, or even in the top twelve. Protecting the pristine beauty of the sun-baked and dust-caked outskirts of Las Vegas and its charismatic fauna from grazing cattle — which the Bureau of Land Management seems to regard as an Old Testament plague — seems to me to be something less than a critical national priority. Washington- Sen. Ted Cruz said Attorney General Eric Holder should be impeached if he doesn’t indict former Internal Revenue Service official Lois Lerner, who is linked to the agency’s targeting of conservative groups. Speaking on Sean Hannity’s radio program Thursday, the Texas Republican labeled Holder the “most partisan attorney general the country has ever had,” and added that Holder should be impeached for “defying Congress and the rule of law.” Cruz cited the attorney general’s refusal to indict anyone in the months since the inspector general found that conservative and Tea Party groups were singled out for tax purposes. Armed Rangers were brought in from out of state by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to assist in security surrounding the Bundy Ranch, according to the family. A heated confrontation on Wednesday resulted in Cliven Bundy’s son Ammon being tasered by BLM officials and a 57-year-old protester being shoved to the ground. Stetsy Bundy Cox, Cliven’s daughter, told the Washington Free Beacon that some of the rangers had Oregon and California license plates. “You know, some of these guys don’t even know why they’re here,” she said. “A few people have talked to them and they got called in

Before conservative policy wonks can win any policy victories, they’ll need to overhaul the Republican Party. For an idea of what that might look like and the challenges any transformation will entail, they should look to one of the party’s wonkiest politicians, Louisiana Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal. Last week, as President Obama touted the 7.1 million private plan sign-ups in Obamacare’s first open enrollment period, Jindal gave the world a glimpse at what the outlines of a Republican alternative might look like. Not only would the plan repeal Obamacare; it would, among other things, overhaul the tax code to remove

Ayaan Hirsi Ali is a Power Line hero for reasons that will become clear below. Brandeis University was set to give her an honorary degree at this year’s commencement exercises. But bowing to pressure from Muslim students, outside advocacy groups, and a portion of its faculty, Brandeis has backed down. As much as I admire Ayaan Hirsi Ali, I don’t condemn Brandeis’ decision. My reasons will, I hope, also become clear below.

Trial Lawyers Mobilize for Democrats

Iowa Democratic Rep. Bruce Braley is still taking flak for his recent put-down of Sen. Chuck Grassley. That´s all wrong. Give the trial lawyer a medal for alerting the electorate to a big—if overlooked—issue in this year´s midterm: legal reform. Mr. Braley, as part of his bid to replace retiring Sen. Tom Harkin, found himself at a fundraiser full of Texas trial attorneys. He scornfully warned that a GOP Senate would put the Judiciary Committee in the hands of "a farmer from Iowa [Mr. Grassley] who never went to law school."

Ted Cruz is not on the March 4 primary ballot. But his likeness is all over TV and in campaign materials, as a slew of Republican candidates on the primary ballot are using his words and — in rare occasions — his endorsement to reach out to voters. This year, having Cruz weigh in any way possible “is political gold,” said Mark P. Jones, a political science professor at Rice University in Houston. His thumbs up for a candidate serves “as a signal to Cruz’s plethora of supporters within the GOP primary electorate who the ‘true’ movement conservative in the in the race is,” he said. And that has made a number of candidates try to link themselves

President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'

When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the
