A ‘Preventable’ Tragedy
New York Times, by Editorial

Original Article

Posted By:StormCnter, 1/17/2014 1:51:12 PM

The latest report on the 2012 debacle in Benghazi, Libya, where Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three others were killed in an attack on an American diplomatic mission, offers new detail and a chilling bottom line: the tragedy was “preventable.” Released in unclassified form by the Senate Intelligence Committee, the report reflects a bipartisan consensus about the tragedy that is broadly consistent with the findings of previous inquiries.(Snip)In the last analysis, however, it is the State Department that must bear most of the blame for failing to provide adequate security and not preventing the preventable.

Reelecting this cast of miscreants was a preventable tragedy too. The Times didn´t help with that either.

No conspiracies. No Leftist MSM agendas... I am sadly and reluctantly concluding that some of these folks are serious journalists who, yes, have a leftist slant but are still mostly fair and impartial in their own minds... More the pity.

Any who, Republicans and conservatives, bless them, are turrning on their own, which bespeaks a vibrant, creative and progressive dialogue. Dems are stuck in apologizing for a moribund socialism circa mid 19th century.

As Obama and his policies continue to unravel, it is an unprecedented opportunity for the Right to advance our cause. Starting with the resignation of Boehner for "health reasons."

I quit reading at this:

FTA: "It describes the attack as “opportunistic” and not “a highly coordinated plot.” This dovetails with an investigation by The Times, which found that the attack was triggered in part by spontaneous anger over an anti-Islamic video."

They just don´t get it, or don´t want to.

If you can´t stop the bomb from reaching the target dead center

Note the artful construction the Times uses in support of the phony video: "This dovetails with an investigation by The Times, which found that the attack was triggered in part by spontaneous anger over an anti-Islamic video." That´s like saying the Senate Intelligence committee report dovetails with the NFL playoffs.

Today, the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals heard oral argument in the case of Wagner v. Jones. Our friend Peter Berkowitz discussed the case in a Wall Street Journal op-ed (it’s behind a pay wall). Teresa Wagner accuses the University of Iowa College of Law of violating her First and Fourteenth Amendment rights by refusing to hire her for its legal analysis, writing, and research program due to her strong pro-life views and activism. Her accusation is strongly supported by a comparison of her qualifications for the position and those of the two individuals selected by the law school. Wagner was already

Which is why, over the next two days, millions of consumers will be buying their significant others ridiculous red cards. They’re ridiculous because, on a planet of seven billion people, it’s nuts to buy a piece of card stock, place it into

The reaction to Wendy Davis’ statement that she could support a ban on late-term abortion if there were more deference given to patients and physicians has caused angst in a Democratic base already upset over Davis’ support of Open Carry laws. Amanda Marcotte at Slate.com called it a betrayal (emphasis added): Texas state Sen. Wendy Davis made her name and kick-started her campaign for governor by filibustering an anti-abortion omnibus bill, standing and talking for 11 hours straight in support of abortion rights. So it comes as a surprise — and frankly, a betrayal — to learn that Davis told the Dallas

The late, famed English author of 1984 and Animal Farm would be astonished that the 1984 phenomenon of Newspeak–freedom is slavery; ignorance is strength–is thriving today, not only in authoritarian/totalitarian regimes, which is what he expected, but also in the world’s leading democracy, the U.S. Politicians are always trying to put the best face on unpleasant occurrences–what we call spin. But nothing comes close to the White House response to a study from the Congressional Budget Office that by 2024 ObamaCare will cost the economy the equivalent of 2.5 million jobs. As of last week, he had never visited Argentina — which helps explain the ambassador-designate’s spotty performance before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee at his confirmation hearing. Mr. Mamet repeatedly described Argentina as a U.S. ally, said it was “a mature democracy” and praised its record on human rights. That provoked a bipartisan tongue-lashing from Sens.
