Mark Levin: Republicans should stage
´historic´ boycott of State of the Union

Washington Examiner, by Charlie Spiering

Conservative talk show host Mark Levin pitched an idea to Republicans who are trying to confront President Obama´s lawlessness in the White House. Boycott the State of the Union address. "They should boycott the State of the Union so half of the House floor is empty," Levin said on his show Thursday evening. Levin said that Republicans should hold their own State of the Union address and explain "how the president threatens this republic." "They need to do something bold that will get the attention of some of our fellow citizens, at which the media which will attack it but

Comments:
It´s a nice fantasy that they would stand as one and "Give the American people a choice between liberty and tyranny." If you think the media and the Dems got upset about "You lied" and shutting down the government they would be completely apoplectic if the Republicans did this. It will never happen.

Mark, sounds good...however it would take too much effort for those individuals to slither away...having no spines, slither is all they can do.

The Republican Party is too cowardly to do anything like this. It (the RP) believes in nothing and stands for nothing, so why would it take a bold stand?

The Republican Party is in bed with Obama and the Democrats.

There is no will to do anything like this by this Republican Congress. What would be even better is thousands of patriots standing on the Capitol steps alongside Mr. Levin and every other conservative commentator, broadcaster, writer, blogger, TV personality, etc., during the State of the Union speech. Why don´t they come together and do something instead of just talking and writing. It´s just not bad enough yet, it is? No one wants to stick their neck out and DO anything.

And let the SOTU turn into a free Obama ad? No. They should stay and get their Joe Wilson on instead.
Even better, would be if they would all loudly mumble the name "[cough] Joe Wilson, [cough] Joe Wilson, [cough] Joe Wilson" every time the Presidential truth was stretched.
Would that be juvenile? Certainly. Would it be effective? Definitely. And much more memorable than sitting on their hands waiting for the TV talkers to mention the Republicans displeasure with the President.
I know it´s only a dream too.

When you are sick, you gain a fever- it´s a symptom of the disease, not the disease itself.

Likewise:

The behavior of the Republicans in elected positions are a symptom of the terrible diesease our country is now enduring. They want to survive in a dreadfully leftists leaning electorate. To commit political suicide helps no one- it just paves the way for more left leaning pols to take their place. Do not blame the Republicans or the Rats- blame yourselves for not acting out, not helping financially or volunteering, not going to protests, not writing letters - to both Republican and Democrat politicians- Don´t talk about the lack of Republican guts until you have examined your own "conservative" navel.

I expect Obama to make some outrageous statements and I hope that the Republicans will be prepared with an appropriate and measured response. Sternly walking out would be better than not showing up at all.

Obama likens himself to Lincoln. Watch the movie "Lincoln" some time and see what he had to put up with.

That way it is a win for the GOP.

CBS News investigative correspondent Sharyl Attkisson has reached an agreement to resign from CBS News ahead of contract, bringing an end to months of hard-fought negotiations, sources familiar with her departure told POLITICO on Monday. Attkisson, who has been with CBS News for two decades, had grown frustrated with what she saw as the network´s liberal bias, an outsized influence by the network´s corporate partners and a lack of dedication to investigative reporting, several sources said. She increasingly felt like her work was no longer supported and that it was a struggle to get her reporting on air. At the

Writing a check on an account with an iffy balance, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell told The New York Times that he thinks the Republican establishment is "going to crush [our opponents] everywhere." It took zero-point-zero seconds for that quote to become precisely the sort of rallying point that Republican incumbents would probably rather their opponents not have. The Tea Party-versus-establishment war has rarely been articulated as plainly as in McConnell´s comments. Although it appears that McConnell was probably speaking within the fairly narrow frame of candidates challenging incumbent Republican senators. Last week, McConnell´s second-in-command on the Hill, Texas Sen.

When Laura Bush ventured to the Thailand-Burma border six years ago, the first lady accused China of not doing enough to pressure the brutal Burmese regime. When Hillary Rodham Clinton visited Beijing in 1995, she delivered a blunt assessment of China’s human rights record that reverberated as far away as South Africa. But as Michelle Obama prepares to journey to China next week with her mother and daughters in tow, one thing is clear: The current first lady does not plan to deliver a similar performance. Two days after a shocking defeat, liberals are still grousing about the Senate spiking the nomination of former NAACP Legal Fund Director Debo Adegbile to be head of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division. What really burns them up is not just that Republicans successfully filibustered one of President Obama’s choices for a government post but that six Democrats joined with them. But rather than take responsibility for putting forward a controversial figure who was sure to provoke bitter opposition from both sides of the aisle, liberals are reverting to form by blaming their defeat on conservative demagoguery and racism. WASHINGTON — In late December, President Barack Obama´s new legislative affairs team sent him more than a dozen recommendations for ways to improve his strained relations with Capitol Hill. The president responded with a few ideas of his own, including a request for more social events with lawmakers at the White House. It was a surprising suggestion from a president who has done little socializing with lawmakers of either party and has dismissed the notion that sharing a cocktail or a meal with members of Congress is a prescription for easing Washington gridlock. The most dangerous parts of a flight are takeoff and landing. Rarely do incidents happen when a plane is cruising seven miles above the earth. Not that he would — it would be “unbecoming,” to use one of Romney’s old-fashioned words that in 2002 had the mandarins of Political Correctness harrumphing about his “sexism,” I believe the charge was that time. But these days, Mitt looks more and more prescient, and his critics ever more deluded. First of all, Russia has become “our number one geopolitical foe,” as he put it
