Conservatives Form Their
Own Caucus Because the RSC
Isn´t ´Hard-Core´ Enough

National Journal, by Tim Alberta

Increasingly frustrated with the size and direction of the Republican Study Committee, a handful of House Republicans have recently found respite in a smaller, private club founded by one of Congress´s leading young conservatives. The House Liberty Caucus, chaired by Rep. Justin Amash of Michigan, quietly launched last year with five or six lawmakers attending a hastily choreographed meeting. Now the group holds a biweekly, invite-only luncheon that draws some two dozen lawmakers and is rapidly becoming an ideological home base for those "core" House conservatives who say the RSC´s swelling membership is diluting its ideological intensity. Amash insisted that his group

Someone needs to call up the last living member of the John Birch Society and deliver a simple apology and an admission that they were right all along.

Any and all ´new´ conservative groups will be demonized and shunned because only left leaning groups and fashionable racial groups are allowed to organize.

I got an email from Katie Walsh, RNC fund raising committee ecampaign@gop.com asking me for a contribution to the Republican Party. Below is my response.

Dear Katie,
As long as the GOP "Establishment" continues to bash, belittle, and mock TEA Party members and candidates, I, along with hundreds, if not thousands, of my friends, will not give you a dime. When I see the so called "Honorable" John McCain call me and MILLIONS of truly conservative Americans "whacko birds" and other derogatory terms, I see no reason for us to support your efforts to sell us out. America needs fewer clowns like McCain, John Boehner, Lindsey Graham, and Mitch McConnell and more like Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, and Trey Gowdy who really give a damn about the future of America and Americans.

I want Hillary Clinton, "President" Obama, Eric Holder, Joe Biden, Valerie Jarrett brought up for treason. These people are shredding the very fabric of the America so many sons and daughters died protecting. People used to say, "This is a great country!" but you don´t hear that much any more. I wonder why?
Regards,

For several decades the GOP has been ignoring the base. Rush sums it up well, the people they hire to run campaigns put out the idea that the base will automatically vote GOP because the Dems are so bad. Therefore the campaigns are run to attract the ´swing´ or ´independent´ voters. The conservatives are ignored and more & more have become disillusioned to the point that many refuse to vote.

A sound idea. During the 18th century,
the British Whigs were an unwieldy and directionless party. Then Clubs were formed to advocate for various ideas and principles. Out of all that evolved the Tories, the Party that led Britain to its zenith of Empire.

This is very encouraging. Not all the people sent to DC fall prey to the Insider ego trip.
Some remember why they are there. I have also written similar letters to the NRSC in response to their "surveys" sent to gather funds, expressing my exact opinion of them. I still am registered Republican so I can vote in the primary..but I support individual candidates who espouse my politics.

#7...I agree. It galls me no end when I hear loud runny mouths say ALL Congressmen/Senators are crooks. They are some decent folks up there but, true, they are in the minority. We need to help this minority, and Tea Party candidates with every vote we can get (legally) for them.

I now have added the GOP RINOS to the Anti-American category and that includes my own Senator McConnell. When he starts acting like a Patriot instead of an "Obama hindlicker" I may change my mind.

Thankfully I am registered as an Independent so I don´t get all those fund raising letters and phone calls. In fact, all calls, if I don´t know who they are, get the answering machine and thus I don´t have to listen to any idiot with a cause.

Exercise, and not colorful marshmallow Peeps, will be the focus of the 136th Annual White House Easter Egg Roll on April 21, the sixth year in a row that first lady Michelle Obama´s fitness-first goal for kids has taken over the once sugar-filled event on the South Lawn. “The day´s activities will encourage children to lead healthy, active lives in support of the first lady´s Let´s Move! initiative,” said the White House of their sixth roll, titled “Hop into Healthy, Swing into Shape.” In the past, administrations have given differing themes for the annual Easter Egg Roll. “What a difference a day makes — 24 little hours.” Those lyrics about romance and spring flowers also fit the bill last week for congressional politics and the 2014 midterm elections. Last Tuesday, the White House hit the 7 million-plus mark for enrolling people in the insurance exchanges set up through the Affordable Care Act (ACA). It was an incredible achievement after the administration wasted two months, a third of the enrollment period, stumbling over a broken website. Public opinion polls last week showed an immediate jump in support for the ACA. President Obama’s approval ratings, which had been at their

Ever the happy warrior of the left, Sen. Chuck Schumer is not giving up on his pipe dream: amnesty for illegal aliens in 2014. Appearing on MSNBC on Monday, Schumer said he thinks it still can happen this year thanks to a group of liberal Republicans—what he thinks is the majority of Republicans—who will stand by silently, letting amnesty pass while voting against it in the end. He called it the “vote-no, pray-yes caucus,” meaning that certain Republicans would publicly claim they are against amnesty, vote against it in the end, but behind the scenes either fight for its passage

Attorney General Eric Holder maintained Tuesday that he has a “vast amount” of discretion in how the Justice Department prosecutes federal law. Holder’s remarks, during testimony before the House Judiciary Committee, came in response to GOP accusations that he is flouting the law with his department’s positions on marijuana legalization, criminal sentencing and a contentious provision of the president’s signature healthcare law. Leading the questioning was House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.), who asked Holder whether he believed there were any limits to the administration’s prosecutorial discretion. “There is a vast amount of discretion that a president has —

CAIRO — A court in Egypt sentenced four men to up to eight years in prison on Monday for practicing homosexuality, a judicial official said. Prosecutors had accused the men of holding “deviant parties” and dressing in women’s clothes. Three were sentenced to eight years and the fourth to three years in prison. Prosecutors have used a law banning “debauchery” to try homosexuals in the past. Those accused of homosexuality are often forced to undergo medical tests to establish they are “habitual” gays, a practice rights groups have decried as abusive. Homosexuality is not tolerated across the Middle East and much of Africa. Last

Democrats are facing a senior problem that could get even worse this year. The party has traditionally had trouble with older voters, losing the group aged 65 and over by 21 points in 2010 — when Republicans picked up 63 seats — and by 12 points in the 2012 presidential race. Seniors are the GOP’s most reliable voting bloc in midterm years, turning out in higher numbers than Democratic base voters. A recent Gallup poll showed seniors have become even more Republican over the last two decades; in 2013, 48 percent considered themselves Republican. LONDON - Peaches Geldof, the wild-child second daughter of concert organizer Bob Geldof who worked as a model, a television presenter and a fashion writer and filled the pages of British tabloids with her late-night antics, has died at age 25. There was no immediate word on the cause of her death at her home in Wrotham, Kent, southeast England. Her father said in a statement Monday: "Peaches has died. We are beyond pain."
