Insurers say they´re in
Obamacare for the long haul

Washington Examiner, by Philip Klein

President Obama´s health care law may have gotten off to a rocky start, but executives of major private health insurance companies are informing investors that they´re still betting on the program in the long run. Speaking at a health care conference sponsored by JPMorgan this week, insurers indicated that that they viewed the 2014 implementation of the health care law as a learning opportunity. Over time, the health care law’s expansion of Medicaid and creation of government-run insurance exchanges promises to funnel hundreds of billions of dollars of taxpayer money into the insurance industry. And insurers don’t want to miss out on

Comments:
Of course they are. They are waiting for their taxpayer bailout when the whole thing collapses. I´ve never been more fearful for our nation in my entire lifetime.

No matter how bad it gets we, the tax payer, will be bailing them out. Might as well hang around to collect that first pile of "free" cash.

What else can they say? There really isn´t anything. They have to work within the confines of these idiotic laws.

And if they go under, that is a step in the direction of single payer, which has always been this administration´s goal.

Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz explained why the Obama administration chose to resign Kathleen Sebelius from her post as HHS Secretary, claiming that Senate Democrats in electoral trouble this November “demanded Kathleen Sebelius’ head.” Cruz spoke with Fox News’ Gregg Jarrett on Friday about the resignation of Obamacare’s top administrator, with the senator pointing out the politics behind Sebelius’ departure. “I think this resignation is the latest indication of what a disaster Obamcare has been,” he asserted. “I think Kathleen Sebelius should’ve resigned a long time ago. And the reason we’re seeing her resign now is because Senate Democrats are scared.” “They’re running

A federal judge criticized Attorney General Eric Holder for directing prosecutors to pursue shorter prison sentences for drug crimes before new guidelines for sentencing had been approved. The U.S. Sentencing Commission approved the reduced sentences for federal drug trafficking offenses on Thursday. Holder endorsed the move last month, and the Justice Department instructed prosecutors not to object if defendants sought the newly-proposed guidelines during sentencing. The Justice Department’s eagerness to apply more lenient sentencing before it had been approved through the appropriate channels frustrated commission member Judge William H. Pryor Jr., despite his support for the reform. “I regret that, before we voted

The new documentary Silence Patton: First Victim of the Cold War claims that General George Patton was murdered, possibly by the KGB, because he was vociferous in his desire to oppose the former Soviet Union. The announcement that Kathleen Sebelius would be stepping down as Health and Human Services Secretary spread far and wide before the White House acknowledged it. Instead of announcing it themselves, the White House Twitter account retweeted a Vox post by Ezra Klein, claiming the move meant that Obamacare had "won." Klein immediately heralded the news on his new platform, Vox, with the title "Kathleen Sebelius is resigning because Obamacare has won." His unorthodox take on why people resign argued that Sebelius was resigning because she "can," because her job in that position was done. "In other words, the law has won

Solar power has won the global argument. Photovoltaic energy is already so cheap that it competes with oil, diesel and liquefied natural gas in much of Asia without subsidies. Roughly 29pc of electricity capacity added in America last year came from solar, rising to 100pc even in Massachusetts and Vermont.[Snip] The technology is improving so fast--helped by the US military--that it has achieved a virtous circle.
