Strange bedfellows: Feds piling on Christie

Legal Insurrection, by William A. Jacobson

The other day I tried to make the distinction between dislike of Chris Christie, and joining the media mob which eventually will turn on Republican candidates you like. I told you not to feed that beast. To defend Chris Christie: This is not about Chris Christie. It’s about any number of other Republican candidates who will be met with the same faux-outrage and media-led obsession a year from now as the 2016 field begins to define itself. Don’t feed the beast. It’s getting worse, as the feds are piling on. Within days of Bridgegate, Eric Holder and the U.S. Attorney’s Office were on the

My philosophy about Republican candidates. If the media is for them, I´m against them.

If the media is excoriating them, the better I like them.

But Christie says he doesn´t like or need conservatives.

The outrage is that Christie supporters are not screaming about the double standard of bullying and retaliation compared to Obama and Bill Clinton.

OR, in the alternative, Christie has made his bed with the scorpion, obama/dems, and the scorpion has done what it does, kill the frog. Unfortunately, by aligning himself with liberals (which is really all a "republican" in a strongly dem state can do), the conservatives will just watch the liberals eat one of their own.

Secretary of State John Kerry on Friday warned of pending sanctions against Russia for its invasion of Ukraine; he gave Putin an ultimatum to halt the aggression by Monday or “serious things will happen.” Kerry then proceeded to strike additional fear into Putin’s heart by saying talk of sanctions was not “a threat,” nor anything “personal,” of course. “We hope President Putin will recognize that none of what we’re saying is meant as a threat, it’s not meant in a personal way. Last week, the U.S. Tenth Circuit decided a case that should reverberate on Capitol Hill. In Kerr v. The three-judge panel — consisting of Carter and Clinton appointees — ruled in favor of the legislators’ standing. This decision should embolden members of Congress who correctly believe that President Obama has encroached upon Congress’ constitutional authority. Indeed, Congress should do no less in defending its authority than the five Colorado state legislators.
