Just How Obsessed Were the
Sunday Shows with Bridgegate?

National Review Online, by Patrick Brennan

As Rich pointed out below, this morning’s political talk shows were amazingly obsessed with the news that some of Chris Christie’s top aides appear to have been involved in causing a serious traffic jam on the George Washington Bridge, between New York and New Jersey. It was indeed something of a slow news week, but the past seven days saw terrifying advances made by al-Qaeda in Iraq, the 50th anniversary of the War on Poverty and Republican talk about how they’d like to address the problem, the release of an important account of how the Obama administration handled national security,

Without fair and balanced reporting of the news of the day, no representative form of government can endure.

If [when] modern civilization collapses and is replaced by a new Dark Age, the western media is the primary guilty party. No, not the radical leftist university funk holes that mass produced them, and not even the Lofos that continually voted in the end of civilization, but the western media pure and simple.

How curious it is that the very beliefs that animate conservatives make them the best placed to survive that collapse, while progressives, utterly dependent as they are on a liberal and liberally funded welfare apparatus may well perish when their artificial green house is smashed.

I really don´t think most Americans are very interested in this article. Most are interested in Benghazi, IRS, Fast and Furious etc. This one pales in comparison to the above. Why doesn´t the press spend time on finding out why the Seals who killed Bin Laden were put on the same helicopter and it crashed. All the Seals are never put on the same helicopter. Any of the above would be interesting to most Americans. Many people I know have just turned off the "news" because it´s so unreliable.

# 1 is right on but I believe it is not only the NEWS MEDIA that is responsible but also those: goofy anti family, anti religion, pro gay, anti American sit-coms and reality shows, most of the Hollywood movies, talk shows and gross cartoons that play a big roll deceiving and dumbing down the voters. We live in a trivial age without mature competent adults in charge of what has kept our society free and civil. We are losing both.

´Bridgegate´ is great entertainment. At least that is what my Canadian friends are telling me. They are laughing so hard, the tears are running down their cheeks. The media/press sound like a bunch of 13-year-old girls gossiping in the lavatory. One TV personality actually said Christie talked too much about himself at his press conference. Perhaps he should have replaced all reference to himself with reference to Obama. Guess what the complaint would be then?

Even putting aside Oama´s numerousscandals and felonies that are being swept under the rug by the Leftmedia, let´s talk traffic jams.
Yes, we have the issue about the political closure of the GWB entrance ramps that caused traffic jams.
But how about the many trafic jams and airport closures have been causd in NYC, Chicago, LA, DC, Martha´s Vineyard, Hawaii by Obama´s motorcades as he traveled to fund raisers, political events, vacations, and date nights?
On the balance, I would say Obama caused more disruption to motorists and travelers in his 5 years than Christie´s aides did in 3 weeks.

I wonder, sometimes, how much influence the MSM really has. Fox News gets more ratings than its liberal competitors combined. The news programs on the broadcast networks have been losing ratings for years and now serve as nothing more than a fig leaf of respectability for those networks. Liberal newspapers are struggling to remain afloat.

Much more news is gotten from the Internet now, and that´s pretty much a free-for-all. No one has a monopoly on it.

The GOP needs to man up and stop giving the dying MSM exclusives or rights to conduct presidential debates, etc. They really have little to lose.

Since I don´t live in NY or NY, I don´t give a hoot about some traffic screw up on a bridge. Now, if the bridge fell into the river, that would be news. This IMHO doesn´t rise to that mark. Incidentally, I´m getting sort of tired of any and everything that politicians get caught doing being called a "......gate". Good grief! That incident happen 40yrs ago. Can we get over it? They´re always saying how the Democrats have issues against Republicans that can be easily described in soundbites. I disagree. They just characterize it with a soundbite and ignore that when distilled that low it´s actually not correct.

Fast and Furious:
The Obama government smuggled guns and weapons into Mexico to the drug cartels so they could kill Mexican police and kill our border guards.

How´s that?
That´s the way the Democrats would put it.

Gov. Chris Christie, R-N.J., turned down the opportunity to bash the mainstream media on Friday, when interviewed by Fox News host Megyn Kelly. Kelly pointed out, during a part of the interview aired on Friday, that there was an unprecedented volume of negative media coverage surrounding the bridge controversy in New Jersey. "Has this changed your view of the mainstream media?" she asked. "No, I´ve always had the same view," Christie said, pointing out that anyone can be the "flavor of the month" in the media. In a way it´s the oddest bit of ObamaCare propaganda we´ve seen so far. Suddenly ObamaCare is a roaring success, happy days are here again and liberals are euphoric, or claim to be. There are more than a few reasons to doubt this new fairy tale, not least the behavior of Senate Democrats running for re-election this year.
