Stunning: 92 Million

RUSH: The jobs number came out. And I´ll tell you, I have never seen anything like this, either. We now have 92 million Americans not working. We created the equivalent of 1,700 jobs per state in December. One of the highest employment months of the year. December´s hiring traditionally is so good that the experts in the Drive-By Media were expecting 196,000 jobs to be created or begun, recorded in December, and the number came in at 74,000 jobs. So 74,000 jobs, and half of these jobs are part time, meaning under 30 hours. The media is scratching their heads

Justice: The nominee to head the Department of Justice´s civil rights division is a radical lawyer who fought to free from prison a cold-blooded killer of a Philadelphia cop. On Dec. 9, 1981, Officer Danny Faulkner, 12 days from his 26th birthday, observed a car going the wrong way down a one-way street without its lights on. He pulled over the vehicle, and the driver, one William Cook, got out of the car and began wrestling with Faulkner. Moments later, Mumia Abu-Jamal, Cook´s brother (aka Wesley Cook), showed up at the scene with a .38-caliber handgun and opened fire, hitting Faulkner, eyewitnesses said,

Scandal: When the news broke that the IRS was singling out conservative groups for harassment, the president assured us that responsible parties would be held accountable. Chalk up one more empty promise. Last May, President Obama said if IRS personnel were indeed "engaged in the kind of practices that have been reported on and were intentionally targeting conservative groups, then that is outrageous, and there is no place for it." "I have got no patience with it," he said, "I will not tolerate it, and we will make sure that we find out exactly what happened on this." A few months later, there

Re-education: Under new federal guidelines for reforming "discriminatory" school discipline, the disruptive will learn quickly that their teachers must now tolerate even more disruptive behavior. This is about the only learning that will be going on, especially in inner-city schools, once this insane policy is fully implemented. This week the Education Department warned the nation´s school administrators it´s not a good idea to remove unruly kids from the classroom. What about the violent ones? Suspend them only as a "last resort." Think twice about even sending them to the principal, and whatever you do, don´t call the cops. Obama´s educrats say minorities bear

Bin Laden May Be Dead,

Terrorism: "Al-Qaida is on the path to defeat and Osama bin Laden is dead," President Obama has been fond of saying. But today, al-Qaida is ascendant, territorially and strategically. For many years after the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, liberal Democrats pummeled President George W. Bush for not getting al-Qaida founder and leader Osama bin Laden. Campaigning in 2006 — a campaign that would bring Democrats into power in both houses of Congress — House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi tauntingly noted that Bush promised bin Laden "was going to be taken ´dead or alive.´" But "five years later he is still on the loose

Europe is set to suffer more severe droughts due to climate change and increased water use, scientists have warned. By the end of the century, southern Europe in particular will have 80 per cent more droughts than at present. New research by the European Commission predicts that water shortages will be made worse by population growth and increased demand. Drought can have a serious economic and social impact and is thought to have cost Europe over €100billion (or £83billion) in the past three decades alone. Researchers used computer models to predict which parts of Europe could be worst hit by increasing temperatures and intensive

Magma in the depths of a super-volcano will eventually burst out like a beach ball held under water, scientists have said. Such a scenario would cause a massive eruption that could happen sooner rather than later and more frequently than previously thought. Swiss researchers have simulated 1.2 million eruptions to work out the change in pressure required to cause a super-volcano to blow its top, New Scientist reported. Super-volcanoes can eject more than 1,000 cubic kilometres of material at once, covering a continent in ash, but the last time this happened was around 75,000 years ago. These rare events represent the biggest natural catastrophes

After a week of record lows that have been responsible for 21 deaths the U.S. is set to experience record highs for January over the weekend as the polar vortex finally eases its grip. Temperatures are finally expected to start rising today, bringing relief to millions who have struggled to stay warm as the weather conditions cut off power, blocked roads and created treacherous conditions. At least 21 victims died in the arctic conditions, including homeowners who were found with snow shovels frozen in their hands, and homeless who were unable to find warm shelter. The bridge is run by a bi-state agency, the Port of Authority of New York and New Jersey, and David Wildstein, a Christie-appointed Port Authority official violated protocol last fall by suddenly shutting down lanes of traffic on the bridge. Wildstein resigned last month. Christie has long denied accusations that the closure was political, but

He was, he said, heartbroken. Embarrassed. Sad. Disappointed. Humiliated.By the end of an extraordinary and exhaustive 107-minute news conference, Chris Christie had transformed himself from a belligerent chief executive, famed for ridiculing his detractors, into a deeply wronged father figure, shaking his head, whispering his words and verging on tears. The bravado had vanished. The certitude was gone. In its place was an entirely new vocabulary of self-doubt and a once unthinkable spectacle: Governor Christie acknowledging a “crisis in confidence,” sleepless nights, second-guessing and nonstop soul-searching. Political apologies generally follow a robotic sequence. The public figure caught doing wrong offers a terse, often

While honouring Emma Thompson at a dinner for the National Board of Review on Tuesday night, Meryl Streep made an extraordinary speech that criticised Walt Disney for being a "gender bigot" who was a member of an antisemitic lobbying organisation. Streep, perhaps Hollywood´s most respected and beloved actor, showed she is far from a cosy establishment figure as she carefully trod a line between praising Thompson and attacking Disney. The very film Thompson was being celebrated for, Saving Mr Banks, is based around Walt Disney´s persuading of PL Travers to allow him to adapt Mary Poppins. According to Variety´s Ramin Setoodeh,

"I come out here to apologize to the people of New Jersey," he said. "I am embarrassed and humiliated." The governor added: "I am stunned by the abject stupidity that was shown here." (Snip) Christie stressed Thursday that he was not involved and that while his political style is tough, "I am not a bully." He said repeatedly that he was betrayed by his staff. In a few pages, a unique former Secy of Defense has put the Obama White House in full defense mode this week about the president and the VP, their intellectual capabilities & their political and management strategies, or lack. And Robert Gates´ memoir, "Duty," also coincidentally messed up Obama´s preferred message about unemployment these days. But now the focus is on Gates´ book. Gates is the only man to hold the defense job under a Republican and a Democrat. [Snip] Gates´ book is an indictment of Obama as president, saying he did not believe in his own war strategy.

A mob of teenagers have been caught on tape robbing a convenience store in Bryan, Texas. The frightening ransacking incident took place Saturday as store clerk Terry Polsgrove, 19, was shutting up for the night. A few teenagers are seen trickling into the Chevron Food Mart, then, all of a sudden, 30 to 40 teenagers are dancing and acting ´crazy´ down the aisles and in the parking lot. The Big Three networks, in a frenzy over New Jersey Gov. By comparison, that´s 17 times the two minutes, eight seconds devoted to President Obama´s IRS scandal in the last six months, according to an analysis by the Media Research Center. “While routinely burying new stories on the IRS scandal, the media practically fell over themselves to start taking shots at the potential 2016 Republican presidential nominee,” said the conservative media watchdog.

Emails unearthed by NorthJersey.com contradicted Mr. Christie’s prior claims that his administration had nothing to do with the unfolding bridge scandal, and sent the tough-talking Republican into damage control. “What I’ve seen today for the first time is unacceptable,” he said in a late-afternoon
