The California Secretary of State’s press office confirmed on Wednesday that Secretary Debra Bowen has given all 58 counties in the state until Feb. 24 to count and verify every signature in a petition campaign to let voters decide whether a law that gives students the right to use facilities and take part in sports and other activities based on their “gender identity” and not their biological sex stands. Assembly Bill 1266, the School Success and Opportunity Act, was passed by the state legislature and signed into law by Gov. Jerry Brown in August 2013. The law, which is designed

I detest this law and the people who allowed it to pass. That said, the courts will overrule any vote by the public to repeal it.

I can not think of anything more repulsive to young girls than a boy in their restroom. What about showers? What if the boy reidentifies his gender and begins to harass the girls? How many chances do you get to identify your gender? And, finally, I can´t wait until the parents of the girls on the sports team begin complaining that Johnny/Joanna is playing too rough! Ludicrous.

My grandson is now 33. This has been going on for a long time. When he was about 10 he was on a baseball team that had both boys and girls. After bumping into a girl who was defending a base my grandson earnestly took her by the hand and told her he hoped he had not hurt her.

Is this any way to run a baseball team?

I guess the homosexuals will be really confused about which bathroom to use now.

If a boy gets to shower with the girls, a quick glance can tell you whether he has a gender identity issue or not.

What luck the younger generation has.

Also, can a male teacher who "identifies" with females use the Women´s faculty restroom? Can he also go into the girls locker room? Female teachers can.

I hope it´s just the real creeps who take advantage of this. You know, the guys who the girls would cross the street to avoid.

Attorney General Eric Holder announced today that dozens of lawyers will be reassigned to the Justice Department’s pardon office in anticipation of a surge of applications from drug offenders for reductions in their sentences — applications the Obama administration has signaled it would look upon favorably. This exercise is another transparent usurpation of legislative power by the president. The pardon power is just the camouflage for it. The pardon power exists so that the president can act in individual cases to correct excesses and injustices. It is not supposed to be a vehicle by which presidents rewrite congressional statutes that

In the budget proposal he presented to Congress last month, President Barack Obama called for what would be the highest level of sustained taxation ever imposed on the American people, according to the analysis published last week by the Congressional Budget Office. Under Obama’s proposal, taxes would rise from 17.6 percent of Gross Domestic Product in 2014 to 19.2 percent in 2024. During the ten years from 2015 to 2024, federal taxation would average 18.7 percent GDP. America has never been subjected to a ten-year stretch of taxation at that level.

Nine people are dead and at least 36 were wounded - including six children - in an especially bloody 48 hours in the gang-and-violence-plagued city of Chicago over the weekend. Five of the six children wounded - who range in age from 11 to 15 - were shot during a drive-by shooting on Sunday night after a person in the vehicle reportedly asked if the children were members of a particular street gang. The sixth, a 15-year-old girl, was shot while riding in a vehicle in what appears to be a separate - but also gang-related - incident. In one

A coalition of investigative journalists to include the Center for Investigative Reporting (CIR) recently announced a public project to map border infrastructure used to hopefully minimize unlawful crossing and other illegal activities. While the effort is understandably time-consuming and leads to frustration when clearly seeing much of the border unfenced--security experts argue the key is proper placement, rather than blanket coverage with infrastructure. The Center for Investigative Reporting’s map of a U.S./Mexico border fence, or lack thereof, offers a seeming disparity of border assets allocated—leaving viewers to assume that Texas is left largely un-guarded compared to the relative coverage enjoyed
