Holder: School discipline
racially biased, too harsh

The Hill [Washington, DC], by Ben Goad

Attorney General Eric Holder called upon the nation’s school districts Wednesday to rethink “zero tolerance” disciplinary policies that he said disproportionately punish minorities and push too many students into the justice system. “Alarming numbers of young people are suspended, expelled or even arrested for relatively minor transgressions like school uniform violations, schoolyard fights or showing ´disrespect´ by laughing in class,” Holder said during a speech in Baltimore. Holder’s remarks accompanied the release Wednesday of new federal guidance from the departments of Justice and Education pressing schools to adopt disciplinary policies that are “fair, nondiscriminatory, and effective.” The guidance lays out the parameters of

Comments:
Example number 1,455 that there will never be any discipline allowed in schools for some reason or another. The pathetic racist Holder is too blinded by his radical ideology to see how this is detrimental to all students and even more so to the minorities. I´m so sick of these people. They are quick to call out those who disagree with anything they do as racist, when all he does is motivated and influenced by race.

The superintendent of the Miami-Dade School District worked in concert with Holder´s DoJ to dumb down the MDSD´s police department handling of juvenile offenders inasmuch as so many of them were minority juveniles - especially blacks.

So the schools instituted programs where a kid like Trayvon Martin, a chronic truant, found to have marijuana and paraphernalia in his backpack, or numerous pieces of stolen jewelry and watches and a burglary tool in his backpack, were not referred to law enforcement. To make the district´s statistics look better.

That superintendent happened to be a big contributor to Obama.

We know where this leads. But Holder persists with his insane attitude (and Obie´s and Bill Ayers´s) toward juvenile crime.

Just randomly punish some whites to balance it out. White kids need to learn what they are against sooner or later.

They destroyed the black family unit, created generations of unruly feral children and now come up with yet another Ill-conceived government solution that will do nothing to fix the problem they created and make things worse . . . Again.

Just like 0bama destroying the economy, blaming others and proposing solutions that will only make things worse.

Anybody see a pattern ?

Here are a few suggestions for school discipline problems. For The teachers who want to teach have classes/schools where learning actually happens. Students come to class prepared and are not disruptive. Then have classes for kids who don´t go to class, fight, shout obscenities, etc. In other words have baby sitting. Separate kids by behavior not by race. Then you do not have to discipline any kids. Simple, no?
Then have other classes where parents are involved with their kids´ learning experience and separate them from kids whose parents haven´t seen their own children or talked to them recently and have never participated in any kind of parent/teacher discussion about their children´s development. No one gets disciplined and the kids who want to succeed have the opportunity to learn and grow. Those who don´t want to learn aren´t going to learn anyway so why waste everyone´s time and effort.

No matter what doofus Holder says, markets work. Employers simply will not hire these illiterate thugs which will greatly expand the black underclass. Suggest schools hand them a basketball on their way out the door.

Trayvon Martin might have been alive today if he had been put into the criminal Justice system for his burglaries and drug use instead of coddled because they did not want to hurt their "statistics."
"Holder´s People" are being kept illiterate. poor and on the plantation - by Holder and the Black Elite who insulate themselves and their families at Elite schools, colleges and cushy jobs based upon undeserved Affirmative Action.
Should Obama´s daughters be given admission based upon skin color?

Eric Holder would find racial bias in the arrangement of desserts on a dessert tray. That´s what happens when you view everything through race-tinted glasses.

Since when have schoolyard fights been relatively minor transgressions? Would they consider a fractured skull or broken nose a "minor transgression"? Or attempting to stuff a kid into a cooler? Or hitting another kid in the head with a hammer? I have seen all this, and more, while teaching in a regional school, and no, these none of these examples involved minorities.
What do they consider a "major transgression"?

Oh please. Our school has zero tolerance policies and we live in a white suburban area. The number of kids who have been suspended for stupid stuff is more than I can count.

Eliminating zero tolerance has nothing to do with racism. Some of these policies are just stupid and over reaching.

Of course, Holder sees everything with a racial undertone.

The reason the schools refer black disciplinary problem students to law enforcement more often then white disciplinary problem students it what when dealing with those black students the schools encounter a lot of threats of violence or actual acts of violence perpetrated by their black student population group. When that occurs the schools have no choice but to notify law enforcement.

Translation=lay off "my people."

According to the linked article (http://www.examiner.com/article/federal-statistics-of-black-on-white-violence-with-links-and-mathematical-extrapolation-formulas) the FBI´s own statistics demonstrate that blacks are 7 times more likely to commit murder than any other race, and 8 times more likely to commit burglary.

If these statistics are correct, it stands to reason that a much higher percentage of blacks would be discipline problems in schools/would be in trouble with the law than the percentage of students of other races.

If a group of teenagers wanted to go into the Senate or House, would they be allowed to go in if while waiting outside, they began fighting and calling people names and cursing and wearing their pants down around their knees, and running in the halls, and eating and throwing their papers on the floor? No? Why not? Would they be thrown out? Why should teachers and serious students have to put up with that kind of behavior? Go to a PUBLIC school,Sir, before you change the law.

I am not a fan of "Zero Tolerance" but the idea of discipline equaling punishment and the racial unfairness of it all disturbs me. Here are a few words I wrote to someone somewhere when the issue floated in my local school system(Texas)a few years ago:

"And another thing! This article refers to "higher rates of punishment for black students". I don´t believe the audit ever uses the term "punishment". They speak of discipline. I know the definition of discipline includes punishment, but is also includes training that corrects, molds character and mental faculties. A well disciplined student isn´t a well punished student. Alternative school doesn´t thrash the kids daily. It does something far more painful. It requires them to sit by themselves, open their texts and workbooks and study a bit - and, perhaps, think about themselves and what kind of person they want to be and become. Alternative school removes them from a situation where they are not being successful and gives them a chance to redirect their lives."

President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'

It’s pitiful that we’ve reached this point, but Obama’s account of this chat really is more credible than Cantor’s. The GOP leadership’s position is anything but straightforward. They’re convinced that they need to pass some sort of immigration bill before 2016 or else Latinos will hand the White House

How do you ensure that you won’t be ostracized, denounced, or fired if you are a media celebrity, captain of industry, or high public official? For some, sexist banter is certainly no problem. Stand-up comedian Bill Maher called Sarah Palin a c–t and a tw-t, but suffered no ill consequences. David Letterman joked on air that Sarah Palin’s 14-year-old daughter had had sex with Alex Rodriguez during a New York Yankees game. There was no downside to that either.
