A series of newly obtained emails shows that Gov. Chris Christie’s office was closely involved with the lane closings at the George Washington Bridge in New Jersey in September, and that officials closed the lanes in what appeared to be retribution against the mayor whose town was gridlocked as a result. Mr. Christie, a Republican, has insisted that his staff and his campaign had nothing to do with the lane closings, and said that they were done as part of a traffic study. But the emails, obtained by The New York Times, show that Bridget Anne Kelly, a deputy chief of staff

I´m surprised the Times is publishing this. They so desperately want him to be the GOP candidate. Maybe they´re still clearing the path for Hillary.

Someone needs to explain to me how the powers that did this had any way of knowing that they were not sticking it to Republicans stuck in traffic also? This whole thing makes no sense to me. If someone in Christie´s office did this without his knowledge, they have to go. I am a NJ voter but not necessarily a fan of CC.

.....and another thing, although I´m no fan of Christie, note the coverage this story will get from the NYT, et. al. MSM outlets vs. the coverage 0bama got when he used the full force of the federal government to target Americans by strategically closing certain parks, memorials and other government entities during the shut down for the specific purpose of punishing Americans to put pressure on politicians.

This thing with Christie is analogous to what 0bama did, but on a much smaller scale and will get 1000 X more coverage.....just watch.

This may be off-topic -- and is rightly a question for the lucianne staff -- but why are both the headline and Intro text of this post so different from the actual article? I thought both had to be pasted from the original source -- not paraphrased for dramatic effect. Just askin´.

What prompted me to click through to the article was the "...Christie, a Republican," (a misnomer in itself) in the second sentence. That phrase doesn´t appear in the NYT article until the ninth paragraph.

It´s no real biggie, and I don´t give a RA how much trouble Christie gets into -- the more the better, in fact. He doesn´t represent the direction this country should be headed. But if you´re going to quote something, be accurate. We get more than enough "interpretation" from the MSM.

The decision in 1967 to feature a harpsichord behind Linda Ronstadt on "Different Drum" wasn´t a stretch. Throughout the decade, the high-strung keyboard was enjoying a renaissance, appearing on dozens of pop hits and soundtracks—including the Beatles´ "Fixing a Hole," the Beach Boys´ "God Only Knows," "The Addams Family" TV theme and "The Odd Couple" film score. Reasons for using the fussy instrument by rock, pop and R&B producers varied. Some sought a novelty touch while others wanted to be in step with London´s colorful Edwardian fashion trend and the psychedelic scene that came with it. But the harpsichord´s ´60s
