Record cold doesn´t

CNN, by Adam Sobel

In much of the northeastern quadrant of the United States, the past few days have seen the coldest weather in about 20 years. The Midwestern lows have been dangerously, frighteningly low. Near the coast, the weather is slightly less cold, but wilder. At 7 yesterday morning, the temperature outside here in New York City was 53 degrees Fahrenheit. This morning as I write, it´s 4 degrees -- that´s 49 degrees different. The numbers are indeed extreme. But in a larger sense, the current situation in the atmosphere is the norm -- just more so. Most of the United States lies in the

But, 17 years of satellite data does.
When is CNN going to run the headline "Record Warmth Doesn´t Prove Global Warming". We may be waiting till He´ll freezes over for that headline.
It´s simple, since the global data isn´t there they resorted to anecdotal instances that they attribute to Global Warming, (as though one particular critter or spot of ice or storm is aware of something that global instruments can´t record). Now that game has bitten them so they have to "educate".

The average IQ at CNN, between the editors and the reporters, is getting pretty low.
Although the record cold does not prove the negative, nothing at all proves the positive.
At least not the positive that is implied, that CO2 is causing Global Warming. That is taken on Faith. So the record cold is not enough to disprove his Faith.
This passes for printable at CNN.

It is correct that, single weather patterns do not prove or dis prove global warming.
The only problem with this statement is, everytime we have anything unusual happen the global warming alarmist, jump on it to try and prove their position.
A single hurricane, heavy winds, rains and even forest fires. Now when the earth has not seen overall warming for 17 years they want to claim that 17 years is too short of a period to determine that GW does not exist.
I ask, what the hell is the period required? Do we keep this crap up for 20 years ? 40 years? Or will it take 100 years?
We are stealing resources from our children´s future with this redistribution of assets crap.
I say after 20 years, if we are still not warmed up we start gathering up the people responsible for destroying our world with their communist takeover.

The whole problem, in a sense, lies precisely in the fact that nothing can disprove anthropogenic global warming. Theories that are inherently unsusceptible to falsification have at best a weak claim to genuinely scientific hypotheses. Contradictory findings can be, and always are rationalized or explained away. Indeed, they can even be made by true believers with sufficient ingenuity to strengthen the original claims. Marxism and Freudianism are other examples of theories with claims to science that are tenuous to say the least. Global warming theory at present is a form of prophecy expressed in the language of science. Those for whom it has become dogma are not engaged in science but a mode of religion.

So Doc, the next time there is a hurricane and CNN trots out one of your fellow "scientists" to claim it´s proof of global warming, will you pop out to tell them they are wrong?

You make a claim that a "Sandy" storm happens nowhere else on earth so it is a cause of concern and proof that warming is a threat. How about the reality that the overall energy of cyclones, frequency plus intensity, has been decreasing. The big patterns and trends of weather do NOT support the predictions of climate alarmists and is sending them into a panic.

Does 17 years of static global temperatures make you reconsider your science? Does the abject failure of your models to match trends cause you to question their veracity?

When serious challenges to a theory are ignored, that is not science; it is faith. Doc your warming religion isn´t holding up to its hype.

Gov. Chris Christie, R-N.J., turned down the opportunity to bash the mainstream media on Friday, when interviewed by Fox News host Megyn Kelly. Kelly pointed out, during a part of the interview aired on Friday, that there was an unprecedented volume of negative media coverage surrounding the bridge controversy in New Jersey. Do you think members of Congress are overpaid or underpaid? Most likely you’d go with the former, but Democratic congressman Jim Moran argues it’s actually the latter. In an interview with CQ Roll Call, Moran says, “I think the American people should know that the members of Congress are underpaid.” The House recently took up a bill to freeze members’ paychecks, placing another halt on the annual cost-of-living pay increases they would normally get and keeping annual salary at $174,000. Moran believes that this is the wrong way to go, not necessarily talking about himself in particular, but saying there

The human kindling that makes up the flammable Republican base may soon burst into flames, again. At a press conference to push legislation to raise the minimum wage to $10.10 an hour, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) criticized industrialists David and Charles Koch, calling them “shadow billionaires” who use their wealth to “rig our political system.” Reid’s sharp comments come on a day when the Wall Street Journal published a commentary written by Charles Koch, in which he described the brothers’ decision to get involved in politics to preserve the individual freedom and free markets that he said are the pillars of the American republic. “These two men are a pair of shadow billionaires spending
