Obama Administration´s Benghazi Bombshell
Weekly Standard, by Thomas Joscelyn

Original Article

The Washington Post reports that U.S. officials suspect Sufian Ben Qumu, an ex-Guantanamo detainee, “played a role in the attack on the American compound in Benghazi, Libya, and are planning to designate the group he leads as a foreign terrorism organization.” Ben Qumu is based in Derna, Libya and runs a branch of Ansar al Sharia headquartered in the city. U.S. officials have found that some of Ben Qumu’s militiamen from Derna “participated in the attack” and “were in Benghazi before the attack took place on Sept. 11, 2012.” Ben Qumu was fingered early on as a suspect in the

This doesn´t make any sense. Why would the administration torpedo the NYT article that went to such great lengths to cover for Hill and Obie denying an al Qeada link? This wasn´t buried on a Friday before a long weekend, but placed front and center of the news cycle.

Makes me wonder if they are trying to get out in front of some damaging information. The problem with that theory is that absolutely nothing has stuck to this president or administration to this point, so why bother now? They have every expectation, rightly so, that the msm will cover for them.

Is this a "Look squirrel!" attempt to cover something bigger?

Even if Bush released this alleged ringleader of the attack,it was probably done to get left wing naggers off his back.At the same time it proves that releasing these people back to their home countries,is a failed act of goodwill gesture.

Its pretty convenient how the main culprit, happened to fall under Bush´s term.Even if it´s true it´s no excuse for Hillary turning down requests for more security, rescue people being told to stand down and Obama´s disappearance on the night of the attack.

Panetta was stranded as a person in between and high tailed it back to Cal. as soon as he could.Stacks of secret love letters by Petraeus just happened to turn up to shut him up.

In WWII these types were executed by firing squad on the battlefield. Oh yes; and that was the last war we won. Coincidence? I think not. It was the last war that liberals or states were not in leadership of the military. And the last war where we cared what happened to our citizens.

The way forward is clear: Gitmo must be closed and its prisoners brought to the US mainland so their commute times are shorter when planning and committing terrorist acts.

Oh #8 that´s funny - thanks for a morning laugh.

#7 is right about the last war the USA won being WWII. Truman was President and gave the OK to drop the A-Bomb. Now our Presidents would never consider such an action because it would be mutually destructive. But there shouldn´t be any hold back on winning by conventional means - it just takes dedication to the mission, which we don´t seem to have once a new President comes to power - ala Obama.

If we don´t grow some gonads soon, the Muzzies are going to spread like the plague that they are to all of Western Europe and then to the U.S. I lay the blame at Obama´s feet, since he famously said in his book Audacity of Hope “I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.” Anyone who thinks it wasn´t a green light to the Muslim world when Obama was elected in 2008, needs to remove their blinders.

"Qumu was reported to have been released in October 2007. He was transferred to Libya on 28 September 2007 and was released from Abu Salim prison in 2010 following an amnesty for political prisoners."

Considering all they knew about him at the time, one has to ask why he was let out of Gitmo.

He will then be the permanent ´community organizer´ in Washington, whipping up his legions in hatred against the Republicans. Remember, he only knows how to do one thing, and that is not supporting another person who is more important than he. Mark my words: he will see that Hillary is not the president, nor any other dem, but will feign support for their candidate. The worst thing that could happen to him, in his eyes, would be a dem president.

The Social Security Administration announced Monday that it will immediately cease efforts to collect on taxpayers’ debts to the government that are more than 10 years old. The action comes after The Washington Post reported that the government was seizing state and federal tax refunds that were on their way to about 400,000 Americans who had relatives who owed money to Social Security. In many cases, the people whose refunds were intercepted had never heard of any debt, and the debts dated as far back as the middle of the past century. “I have directed an immediate halt to further

Democrats have had a recurring problem in special elections this year: Their voters aren’t turning out. If a weak economy and continued Obamacare problems persist, the November elections could be a disaster for Democrats. Last week, Democrats lost two special elections they weren’t planning to. Arlington, Va., is a classic wealthy ObamaTown, filled with government workers and limousine liberals. Mitt Romney won only 29 percent of the vote in 2012. But last Tuesday, Democrats lost their first election for the five-member Arlington County Board in 15 years when John Vihstadt, a Republican running as an independent, won a vacancy on

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said little as federal agents seized and then released cattle last week from the Bundy ranch, but there is little doubt that the highly charged episode was threatening to become a political headache for the Nevada Democrat. The Bureau of Land Management is headed by former longtime Reid aide Neil Kornze, who was confirmed by the Senate as BLM director on Tuesday, just as federal authorities descended on the cattle ranch outside Mesquite, Nev. Mr. Kornze issued a statement Saturday saying that the bureau would return the cattle and withdraw its agents from the ranch

On the defensive about their prospects in the midterm elections this fall, congressional Democrats have spent all of April savaging the Republican budget proposal, decrying the Koch brothers and championing a series of bills meant to ingratiate themselves to struggling middle-class voters. In promoting legislation that would extend unemployment benefits, increase the minimum wage and promote equal pay for women, the Democrats have declared themselves the party that will ensure a “fair shot” for all. Republicans, they insist, are the party of special interests. It has been a classic Washington messaging campaign for these partisan

Following the massacre of grammar-school children in Newtown, Conn., in December 2012, high-powered weapons have been used to kill innocent victims in more senseless public incidents. Those killings, however, are only a fragment of the total harm caused by the misuse of firearms. Each year, more than 30,000 people die in the United States in firearm-related incidents. Many of those deaths involve handguns. The adoption of rules that will lessen the number of those incidents should be a matter of primary concern to both federal and state legislators. Struggling homeowners across the country could face significant new tax bills if they receive mortgage relief from their banks, a prospect that threatens to slow the housing recovery and put further strain on distressed borrowers. The collapse of the housing market and plunging home prices left millions of people stuck owing more on their mortgages than their homes were worth. Some have worked with their banks to reduce the loan amount to avoid foreclosure or enable a sale. Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day.
