Obama Affordable Care Act Hurts
Twice As Many As It Helps

Investor´s Business Daily, by Betsy McCaughey

Original Article

Posted By:Desert Fox, 1/7/2014 7:22:56 PM

In 2014, 25 million to 30 million Americans who have employer-provided health insurance are likely to lose it, thanks to ObamaCare´s requirement that all plans cover what Washington deems "essential benefits." Some employers will consider that unaffordable and drop coverage altogether, when their current, less-expensive plans expire over the course of the year. These 25 million to 30 million are in addition to 6 million who bought plans in the individual market and had them canceled by Jan. 1. The plight of those 6 million made headline news and caused the first cracks in the Democratic Party´s support for the law.

I´m sure that is what the original plan was. Make it hurt and scream for the government to fix it. Yes, rely on the government to fix it, that will be the best answer. s/o

Correct, #1, that was indeed the plan. But enough people are so fed up with government incompetence in this context that I doubt they´ll be yelling for salvation from the folks who created the problem in the first place.

It certainly hurt me. Several thousand dollars in out of pocket each year. I´m only going to the doctor to get my meds; nothing else even though I have major health issues. I want to cry every time I have to think about it. I´m lower middle class, five years away from retirement. It has destroyed my life.

Twice ? That´s a lot underestimated, especially if you add those in the insurance industry who lost jobs.

0bama´s policies on every issue have FAILED this country and every citizen, proving he´s on the wrong track if he thinks socialism will work here when it FAILS every place it has ever been tried. Lady Thatcher was right when she said something like, ´Socialism always fails when it runs out of spending other people´s money.´ 0bama´s socialist policy, ´wrecking ball,´ is cavalierly throwing away America´s prosperity & future.

This will transform America. More people will die from obamacare than from any terrorist attack ever. The medicare cuts won´t start until after the 2014 elections . Look for the poor and middle class baby boomers to be the biggest losers due to denial of care. The biggest lie is that Insurance does not mean you will receive care.

If one wanted to go about getting as many people as possible on welfare and getting them to give up on their dreams of being able to provide for themselves and their families with some upward mobility, this is how it would be done.

This is all deliberate in order to get single-payer, which assures the government total control over what people eat, drive, what doctors or hospitals they can go go, what they wear, how much energy they use and generally place them into serf status.

It´s hideous. The Democrat Party will pay dearly for doing nothing about this.

Someone posted "The Democrat Party will pay dearly for doing nothing about this." Are you serious! They are the ones who did this in the first place. They are responsible for placing us all in a position of servitude. I am concerned that the next election will be as severely thwarted as the last. You might recall that even though 100% of certain districts in Philly were said to have voted for Obama (an impossibility), no Republican even suggested a recount. Not one anywhere!

To my mind, they are in bed together, and the picture isn´t pretty. And no one but the public is paying the price.

For the fairly healthy who find themselves without health insurance: Start saving the amount you would be paying in premiums. Make it untouchable for everything but health care (not easy, but that´s how it has to be). You will find that you accumulate thousands of dollars that can be used to pay cash for health services. Even better, when you pay cash, you can often negotiate prices that are about 1/2 of what is advertised.

This doesn´t help people who are in the midst of a health crisis, but most of us are not in a health crisis. My husband and I went this route about ten years ago and have found that it will provide a way to pay for normal levels of treatment when premiums and deductibles are prohibitive.

That´s why they write rules and laws that match up with an idealized human who obeys orders and waits patiently.

I am armed and dangerous. I don´t wait. I am far from ideal and like it that way.

In the Arab world throwing a shoe is considered an insult, and George W. Bush famously had one hurled at him during a Baghdad press conference in 2008. Less explicable was the pump thrown at Hillary Clinton last week during a speech at a Las Vegas casino. "Is that somebody throwing something at me? Is that part of Cirque du Soleil?" Mrs. Clinton quipped after dodging the projectile. "My goodness, I didn´t know that solid waste management was so controversial." The missing Malaysia Airlines plane was ´thrown around like a fighter jet´ just after it lost contact with the authorities in a bid to dodge radar, Malaysian military investigators believe.
