How Bob Gates’s memoir

Washington Post, by CHRIS CILLIZZA

Bob Gates might just have handed Republicans (and maybe even a Democrat or two) an issue in their potential fight to keep Hillary Rodham Clinton from the presidency in 2016. In this May 1, 2011, image released by the White House and digitally altered by the source to obscure the details of a document in front of Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, at right with hand covering mouth, President Obama, second from left, Vice President Biden, left, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, right, and members of the national security team watch an update on the mission against Osama bin

So now they must crush Gates as an apostate. These are empty-souled evil people who aspire to power over this country.

This should be interesting. Wonder who will get to interview Gates? They will all be out to destroy him.

We know that there will be dozens of stories attempting to debunk everything bad that he writes of in his book, well at least the parts dealing with Hillary and Obama.

Vice President Joe Biden told a crowd of community college professors that he appreciated their work and he understands how difficult of an occupation it is due to the fact that he sleeps “with a community college professor every night.” “I thank you for what you do and I mean that sincerely. Jill is probably right, I think I’d have the same attitude did I not sleep with a community college professor every night, Biden said. As the audience laughed, Biden interjected. “Oh, the same one, the same one,” he said, waving his hands in an attempt to clarify. “The same one.”

We live in a strange time in American politics. It wasn’t that long ago — like, maybe two years — when a cancer victim struggling with insurance coverage would receive a sympathetic ear from the news media. They might even send one of those “consumer advocate” teams to shove cameras in the faces of the insurance officials and demand to know how they could be so heartless. What the media would surely not do, after hearing of a cancer patient struggling with insurance, would be this:Contact the insurance company.Receive assurance from the insurance company’s PR spokesman that everything was just fine.

Dems´ new 2014 plan:
Neutralize Obamacare
Politico, by Dan Hohmann    Original Article

Democrats know their biggest problem in this year’s midterm election is Obamacare. So top party operatives have settled on a strategy to try blunting the GOP’s advantage: Tell voters Republicans would make the problem worse — raising prescription drug prices, empowering insurance companies and even endangering domestic violence victims. The battle plan, details of which were in a memo obtained by POLITICO, recognizes the unpopularity of the Affordable Care Act. But it also banks on voter fatigue with the GOP’s relentless demands for repeal and counts on poll-backed data that show many Americans would rather fix Obamacare’s problems than scrap it

George Zimmerman is stepping back into the media spotlight — and that is generating sparks of controversy. It’s understandable that plenty of people never want to see his face again. He is the man who killed Trayvon Martin, and while he was acquitted of murder in their fatal street encounter, the fact remains that an unarmed black teenager is dead. Since the Florida trial that became a media sensation, Zimmerman has had several run-ins with law enforcement. After his wife left him, his 27-year-old girlfriend called police and said he had aimed a shotgun at her, and authorities arrested him and temporarily confiscated a shotgun, assault-style rifle and three handguns.

Nonetheless, the latest changes announced this week should embarrass even the most sycophantic ObamaCare enthusiast. The act was sold on the promise that the estimated 40 million Americans who were without health insurance would finally be covered. The law forces employers with 50

The school of literary criticism known as reception theory holds that a text should be studied in light of its effect on its contemporaries, that a reader should be aware of the “horizon of expectations” in which a text is produced. I was reminded of this the other day as I observed, in amusement, fascination, and occasional pity, the reaction of the so-called mainstream media to Alana Goodman’s lengthy and rock-solid report on “The Hillary Papers.” This trove of previously unexamined transcriptions of conversations between Hillary Clinton and her best friend Diane Blair had been collecting dust at the University

Students at three Dearborn elementary schools received the flyers. A large number of Muslim students attend the schools. When friends and family members gathered recently at the White House for a private celebration of Michelle Obama’s 50th birthday, one of the invited partygoers was a former paid FBI Mafia informant. That same man attended February’s state dinner in honor of French President Francois Hollande. He was seated with his girlfriend at a table adjacent to President Barack Obama, who is likely unaware that, according to federal agents, his guest once interacted with members of four of New York City’s five organized crime families. Democrats are facing a senior problem that could get even worse this year. The party has traditionally had trouble with older voters, losing the group aged 65 and over by 21 points in 2010 — when Republicans picked up 63 seats — and by 12 points in the 2012 presidential race. Seniors are the GOP’s most reliable voting bloc in midterm years, turning out in higher numbers than Democratic base voters. A recent Gallup poll showed seniors have become even more Republican over the last two decades; in 2013, 48 percent considered themselves Republican. That spells trouble for Democrats, who are already facing

LONDON - Peaches Geldof, the wild-child second daughter of concert organizer Bob Geldof who worked as a model, a television presenter and a fashion writer and filled the pages of British tabloids with her late-night antics, has died at age 25. There was no immediate word on the cause of her death at her home in Wrotham, Kent, southeast England. Her father said in a statement Monday: "Peaches has died. We are beyond pain." "She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us," he said. "Writing 'was' destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable? We loved her and will cherish her forever."
