Surprise! Walmart health plan is cheaper,
offers more coverage than Obamacare

Washington Examiner, by Richard Pollock

Original Article

New Obamacare health insurance enrollees may feel a pang of envy when they eye the coverage plans offered by Walmart to its employees. For many years, the giant discount retailer has been the target of unions and liberal activists who have harshly criticized the company´s health care plans, calling them “notorious for failing to provide health benefits” and "substandard.”

Companies like Walmart offer health care, and call it an employee benefit. That is a positive term.

SCOTUS has clearly ruled obamaCare as at TAX, clearly a negative term.
(Although originated in the Senate and passed illegally)

Nothing in this article should come as a surprise.

The irony is the left is always critical of Walmart exploitation of their employees. So far Walmart has succeeded in holding off the union efforts at takeover. Here is a private corporation that does more for the poor and more for it´s employees than Obama does while spending trillions that impoverishes the private sector and leaves our grandchildren under such debts they will never recover! There is nothing progressive about progressivism it is destructive.

This story needs to be shouted from the mountaintops. A solid majority of the people would come after the left with pitchforks.

Walmart gets criticized for everything it does and everything it doesn´t do. That is how unions and activists strive to gain leverage or extort funding.

And if the Walmart plan really is superior then HHS will soon fix it. That is what government does.

I am not in the least surprised. ObamaCare has set the bar so low, that it would take special effort not to provide better coverage than ObamaCare.

You can now expect a propaganda campaign by Obama, the Democrats, the MSM and union activists to claim that it is inferior.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid may have broken Senate ethics and Internet rules by using his official website to attack libertarian campaign donors Charles and David Koch, a possible violation of the chamber´s prohibition on "partisan" material on members´ publicly funded webpages. The post, titled “The Facts About the Koch Brothers,” was moved from the Nevada Democrat´s homepage to a less prominent position on the site Wednesday following inquiries by the Washington Examiner.

partisan attack on free speech

Score one for the defense of free speech. Earlier this year, a Wisconsin judge overseeing the secret “John Doe” investigation of conservative groups terminated multiple subpoenas that were used to seize their communications and other records. While this is a victory for First Amendment rights, the abuses continue with the intent to sideline all conservatives before the state´s 2014 elections. More ominously, it appears to be part of a larger effort by left-leaning government officials to use campaign finance rules against one party, despite the law.

The crowing by the Obama administration over getting 7 million people to sign up for mandatory health insurance—with some portion actually paying for it—will soon fade. The big picture will remain clear: Obamacare isn’t working. And Americans, who didn’t like Obamacare when the Democrats passed it four years ago, don’t like it now, don’t want it to remain, and doubt it can be fixed. But they also don’t much want to go back to the pre-Obamacare world. According to Real Clear Politics, a recent ABC News/Washington Post poll of registered voters was the 111th consecutive poll to find more opposition to Obamacare

GOP ramps up planning to replace
Obamacare as Senate prospects rise
Washington Examiner, by David M. Drucker    Original Article

The Republican Party´s rising Senate prospects are forcing House Republicans to craft a health care agenda that could function as a feasible legislative blueprint for overhauling Obamacare in January 2015. The Republican-controlled House has approved legislation to repeal the Affordable Care Act and reform aspects of the law several times, only to see the bills die in a Democratic-led Senate that is committed to preserving the law. That dynamic would change if Republicans win six Democratic-held seats and assume control of the Senate in November, as appears increasingly possible.

In 2008, both Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain supported defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman. In 2012, only Republican Mitt Romney supported traditional marriage, Obama having announced a change of heart six months before the election. What about 2016? It´s impossible to imagine a Democratic candidate not supporting the redefinition of marriage. As for Republicans, it´s hard to see a gay-marriage-supporting candidate make it through the GOP primaries.

Eighteen of the 32 top management jobs in the federal agency that is "ground zero" for running Obamacare are either vacant or filled on an acting basis. The agency is the Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight. Its problems start at the top. Gary Cohen´s last day as CCIIO´s deputy administrator after less than two years on the job will be March 31, the latest departure from the agency. Including Cohen´s position, more than half of the most important jobs in CCIIO are either vacant or held by caretaking “acting directors.”

Job security declining for people in unions

Economist Allison Schrager points out a little-noticed shift in the workforce that explains part of the membership problem Big Labor is facing: Union members are now experiencing declining job security. This is notable because job security is a key benefit to joining a union in the first place. Unions are supposed to pressure companies to preserve positions, even in hard times. But even union-dominated industries have seen mass layoffs in recent decades. Also, many of the other benefits that unions provide, like pensions, are only available to people who remain at their jobs for set periods.

With New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie stalled by the “Bridgegate” affair, former Florida Gov. President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn.
