Iraq proves that Obama is

American Thinker, by Silvio Canto, Jr.

A few minutes ago, I watched that great TV commercial about our wounded warriors. It inspires you! It also reminds us that war has a huge human price. We lost a young man in our church in Iraq. One of my son´s high school buddies lost a leg in Afghanistan. It also makes you furious when you watch it in the context of what is happening in Iraq. In 2011, President Obama was all about running for reelection with troops out of Iraq. It was all about keeping a promise, even though Iraq had ceased to be much of an

During the 2008 debates, I was saying to myself, this idiot hasn´t a clue about foreign policy, nor does he understand the enemy or what we were fighting for. His talking points on this topic could have been pulled right off of one of the infantile BDS spewing left wing blogs such as the DK or DU.
This was all predictable and why McCain didn´t bash him over the head with the ill informed, idiotic drivel he was spouting while on the stump, I´ll never know.

The failure in strategic thinking started when it was decided to invade, and then carrying out the invasion of Iraq in 2003. It was not a worthwhile expenditure of our resources. And Iraq is now worse off, security-wise, than it was before the invasion.

Iraq proves that Obama is no strategic thinker - only if you assume he thinks what is happening there is bad.

Which country has the most to gain if Iraq falls into the hands of the militants? Which country has Obama been secretly lifting economic sanctions previously levied against them? Which country has been able to continue their development of nuclear weapons without a single real action by the US? Which country believes that they are going to bring about the return of the 12th caliphate?

Sorry, but I respectfully disagree #2.

GWB had a long term strategy which was working and he left office with a secure Iraq and a plan for it´s future.

Just a refresher

Saddam Hussein was one of the most brutal dictators of the 20th century....GONE

He had two psychotic, blood thirsty sons.....GONE

Hussein maintained the capacity to manufacture WMD (the actual stated issue about going in there re: WMD, not "stockpiles of WMD" as the left propagated) until the day we ousted him....that threat is GONE

Hussein funded, encouraged, facilitated and was responsible for terror and was the leader of a terror state.....that threat is GONE

Just as GWB promised in his great address before congress and the world on 9/21/01 about fighting the terrorists "at a place and time of OUR choosing" we drew in and slaughtered thousands of rabid jihadis from across the region in what turned out to be a brilliant military strategy (remember Bin-Laden said Iraq was the central focus of his war on the west?)

Our military devised and perfected the "Surge" strategy, that won the day, will come in handy in the future and defeated the anti-American left at home (i,e. the DemocRAT Party) and the feckless UN naysayers across the globe.

We were in a war against terror and we took out the greatest focus of terror on earth at that time.

GWB left a fledgling democracy and a forward military base for further operations that we/they NO LONGER HAVE thanks to 0bama´s precipitous withdrawal and abandonment of our efforts.

When Iran gets the bomb it will be because, among the other things he´s done, 0bama´s withdrawal from Iraq.

We can argue whether it was a good idea to liberate that place, but there is no question our efforts, blood and treasure expended there have been squandered because of 0bama......and the situation on the ground there now proves it.

The Obama administration announced Monday that planned cuts to Medicare Advantage would not go through as anticipated amid election-year opposition from congressional Democrats. The cuts would have reduced benefits that seniors receive from health plans in the program, which is intended as an alternative to Medicare. Under cuts planned by the administration, insurers offering the plans were to see their federal payments reduced by 1.9 percent, which likely would have necessitated cuts for customers. Instead, the administration said the federal payments to insurers will increase next year by .40 percent. The healthcare law included $200 billion in cuts to Medicare

Democrats are facing a senior problem that could get even worse this year. The party has traditionally had trouble with older voters, losing the group aged 65 and over by 21 points in 2010 — when Republicans picked up 63 seats — and by 12 points in the 2012 presidential race. Seniors are the GOP’s most reliable voting bloc in midterm years, turning out in higher numbers than Democratic base voters. A recent Gallup poll showed seniors have become even more Republican over the last two decades; in 2013, 48 percent considered themselves Republican.
