GOP Pollster Frank Luntz Became
‘Depressed’ After 2012 Election

Mediaite, by Andrew Kirell

Original Article

According to a new profile piece in The Atlantic, GOP pollster and frequent Fox News contributor Frank Luntz sunk into a depression following the 2012 election in which President Obama won re-election over Republican candidate Mitt Romney. Luntz described himself as “less healthy now than [he has] ever been in [his] life,” sleeping two or three hours at a time and fretting over the future of his career in political consulting. The Atlantic‘s Molly Ball wrote: The crisis began, he says, after last year’s presidential election, when Luntz became profoundly depressed. For more than a month, he tried to stay occupied, but

Join the club! I still haven´t recovered because almost daily there are relentless bad news stories that all of us are hurt by. Frank Luntz always appeared to be more interested in his own self-promotion. Those focus groups of his were a joke. The Atlantic article doesn´t enhance his image at all.

I´m mostly disappointed.
Disappointed not only that my countrymen could elect this jug-eared disaster twice, but disappointed that I can´t even consider that section of the electorate "my countrymen" anymore.

It didn´t matter who got elected. They were both the same. One would just get us there faster. The elites of both parties are one of the same.

Even during the election, although I was pulling for Romney, I was also consoled by the fact that if Romney won, he would be blamed for Obamacare. Now, that´s not an option, which turned out to be a very good thing for us. Maybe even better than having Romney win.

Now we have a small taste of how some Europeans felt in the 1930s. They saw a lunatic driving the country into complete ruins while millions cheered wildly at every insane utterance. Let´s hope it doesn´t end so badly this time.

Rationalizing that it may be better that Obama won is just that, rationalizing. We would have been infinitely better off with Romney; having an actual adult as president is obviously better than what we got. Having an American who loves this country rather than despises will always be better for our nation. George Bush, not the conservative I would have liked him to be, was and is a decent man, and Mitt Romney is equally as decent. Both are Americans first. To say there´s little difference between them and Obama is to play into the games liberals love to promote. I´d like to see Mitch Daniels perhaps, and Ted Cruz as a running mate, but I´ll take anyone (even if it means Biden temporarily) other than our treasonous president.

Politics has changed into whoever gets elected gets to have the cushy retirement, healthcare, and money under the table. Actually doing something is to be avoided. Let the courts decide. Keep your hands clean of decisions. It´s all about the perks.

It´s really a troubling story, to me.

47% of the country are just basically lazy and thieves and will always support whatever party is giving away the most goodies.

Luntz certainly knows the intractability of the situation more than most.

Sorry folks, but I think Romney would have made an excellent president. To say that he only cared about getting a "cushy retirement, healthcare, and money under the table" is ridiculous. I think he loves this country almost as much as he loves his family...and I think he thrives on working on solutions to serious problems. I wish he had won ... we´d be enjoying some light at the end of the tunnel instead of hurtling into the darkness that is Obama and the Democrats.

The election was decided by the 4 battleground states of FL, NC, OH, and CO, where Obamawon by a combined total of 340,000 votes--well within the margin of theft.
Given the lies, deceit, criminality, lawlessness, bullying, strong-arm thug tactics, IRS attack dogs emanating from the White House, can anyone really believe Obama really won in 2012 without voter fraud and theft?

Wayne Crews of the Competitive Enterprise Institute and Alexis de Tocqueville, author of the classic Democracy in America, were born in different times and places. But the French aristocrat and American think tanker have the measure of the federal behemoth in the age of Obama. Writing in 1835, Tocqueville eloquently predicted how it would function, while Crews today supplies in his annual compilation of federal rules and regulations, “10,000 Commandments,” the hard numbers that describe the behemoth´s contemporary reach and costs. It is always worthwhile to revisit de Tocqueville’s description of what he called the “soft despotism” of an America

Prominent Washington correspondents are accusing President Obama and his aides of knowingly stretching the truth on issues like the so-called women´s pay gap just to create controversy and keep issues -- and the president -- relevant. Washington Post columnist Ruth Marcus kicked off the attack last week when she blasted as “demagoguery” the administration´s tactics during the pay gap debate. “The level of hyperbole -- actually, of demagoguery -- that Democrats have engaged in here is revolting,” she wrote. Luckily for them, the public’s memory is short, and the outrage of today soon declines into the apathy of tomorrow. From several articles published in a recent edition of the British Medical Journal, it appears that many governments around the world, including those of Britain and the US, may have made such a mistake in stockpiling billions of dollars’ worth of anti-flu medications, bought principally from Roche, the largest pharmaceutical company in the world as measured by capitalization.
