Candy Crowley: ‘Why Would
I Become a Republican´ If I´m
Unemployed or on Minimum Wage?

Newsbusters, by Noel Sheppard

On CNN’s State of the Union Sunday, host Candy Crowley asked a question of Gov. Scott Walker (R-Wisc.) that should offend people on both sides of the aisle. “If I am an unemployed American…or if I am a minimum wage worker…why would I become a Republican?” (video follows with transcript and commentary):CANDY CROWLEY: If I am an unemployed American and I hear from Republicans that, “Yeah, you know, we should go ahead and do that provided we do the following three things,” and it’s a caveat approval of extending those [unemployment] benefits, or if I am a minimum wage worker

Most Republicans aren´t satisfied being unemployed or making the minimum wage. We try to better ourselves.

The answer should have been pretty easy and straight forward. "Candy, as long as you are a kneepad wearing shrill for Obambi, the Dems and fascism in general you will always have a job with the alphabets. So stop worrying about being unemployed and figuring out if you need to cast off your kneepads to get another job.´

Because, candy, republicans are the only party that can reduce unemployment and provide higher wages for everyone - through elimination of government interference in the private business sector; such as eliminating the minimum wage, EPA regs, OSHA regs, multiple taxation of the same money (think dividends for example), and on and on, etc.

Excuse me? Other than slow the growth of government (which according to Milton Friedman less government spending is equal to a tax cut)the Republicans have not been able to do anything to impact the Zippy´s economy. Zippy is trying to stop oil and gas development, stop the XL pipeline, has dried up central California farmland, closed viable coal mines, shut down cheap electricity from existing plants, allowed illegals into the country who take jobs, etc. This so called economic "recovery" stinks and it feels like Jimmy Carters recession. After 5 years, this economy is his and he owns it.

I am currently unemployed (my federal position was eliminated as of last Friday), and I would like to see the minimum wage eliminated completely. It cannot make a single economic exchange, including labor for money, mutually profitable that is not already mutually profitable on its own merits.

A minimum wage law can only make some of those exchanges illegal. Wage and price controls do that. They simply illegalize some of the mutual benefits individuals would have chosen in a free market.

I´m not in danger of poverty, though, and I would vote Republican even if I could become "poor." (This being America, "poor" is pretty darned luxurious by standards of world history.)

I paid attention in school, so I got most of the public school benefits my parents had paid for. Veterans benefits that I earned paid my way through college. I am trained in the IT industry, and I´m a Christian. So my future looks fine, based on earning power apart from governmental interference.

As much as the GOP needs improvement, I can´t think of a single benefit I would get by leaving it and joining any other party.

How did the republicans ever agree to allow the committed liberal/socialist Crowley to moderate the debate?

They should have known that Candy and Obama would tag team Romney--and she did.

This may be a headline writer issue, and not Ms. Crowley, but a person is not "on" minimum wage. It´s not (or should not be) a subsidy. One might be "on" welfare, but you EARN minimum wage. And if you EARN minimum wage, you can work hard and EARN more than minimum wage.

I cannot, for the life of me, understand why anyone would make a career out of a minimum wage job!! They are not intended to be long term careers. They are jobs that give people experience so they can either move up or find a better job elsewhere. Why would one expect to stay somewhere like that indefinitely???

have no wish to be disagreeable.
Here´s something most of us overlook. Half the population is average or below. Sometimes FAR below. Below average I.Q., energy level, determination, situational awareness, "basic" skills like reading or arithmetic. It´s not a measure of human worth, but a simple sad reality: some people are nearly overpaid at minimum wage. I don´t say that to be nasty, it´s simply an observable reality. Nice people, some of them, and most of us know a few in that category.
What of them? And most of them I´d rather hire than this disgusting harridan.

Ms. Crowley, thank you for making this point. This explains why democrat policies are hell-bent on increasing the numbers of unemployed. For example, Obamacare punishes businesses for hiring more than 50 employees. The dozens left un-hired and unemployed can then vote democrat out of gratitude for their jobless benefit extensions. Let the GOP green-light the Keystone pipeline and thousands of potential Dem Votes could have been lost- so you put a stop to that.

Its members are the majority in this country and soon throughout the world!. We will not be dissuaded, deluded, compromised, delayed, detoured, bought or lured away. We will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, negotiate at the table of corruption, hesitate in the presence of adversary or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I´m not so sure it is ignorance as much as it is selfishness. It is easy to be caring and compassionate when you get to use other people´s money and resources. Democrats are notorious for not giving their own money to churches or any other charitable organization; but are great at getting in front of a camera and pleading for others to donate. To them, taxes are their way of extracting donations to their causes while they take all the credit.
It is also arrogance. Democrats believe they know better than you, what is good for you. They believe they are smarter, more intelligent and more informed than you and you should let them control your life.
Lastly, Democrats are the perfect example of what Scripture describes as "worldly". They have no use for God or Christianity because to admit there is a higher power is to admit they have a moral responsibility to that power. They refuse to deal with that. Instead, they mirror Satan when he said he would be like the Most High. Their thirst for power is fueled by their desire to be God, with their own moral standards, their own rules, their own reality and their own heaven on earth.
But they are self-deceivers and they will pay a horrible price for their life of denial.

When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

Vice President Joe Biden really did get ahead of President Barack Obama on accepting gay marriage in 2012 — and the White House really wasn’t happy about it, despite the two leaders’ many attempts to claim otherwise. That’s the story laid out in Jo Becker’s new book, “Forcing the Spring,” which documents the past few years of successful efforts to expand the legalization of gay marriage, according to an advance copy obtained by POLITICO. Speculation that Biden’s comments on “Meet the Press” in May 2012 were meant as a trial balloon, Becker writes, came from people “not privy to the

Toddlers show racial bias when picking playmates, a study reveals. They also take account of how fairly others behave. Researchers tested the reaction of white 15-month-olds as toys were distributed. Two white adults divided the toys, one equally and the other unequally. Seventy per cent of the toddlers chose to play with the researcher who distributed the toys fairly. But in a second test, when one researcher favoured a white recipient over an Asian one, they picked the ‘fair’ researcher less often, the journal Frontiers in Psychology reports. And the babies are more likely to help those who share the same ethnicity, which is known as

Hank Aaron’s recent comments about the need for America to realize that racism is still very much alive and thriving — only now due to those who wear “neckties and starched shirts” rather than KKK hoods — has sparked an angry backlash and many fans are turning the tables, calling the baseball legend himself a racist. “Hank Aaron is a s*****g piece of [expletive] [racial slur],” one man said in an email to the Atlanta Braves’ front office, one of the teams Mr. Aaron used to play for, CBS News reported. “My old man instilled in my mind from a

Western Washington University sent a questionnaire to students asking them for advice on how the administration could succeed at making sure that in future years, “we are not as white as we are today.” The question notes that WWU’s racial make up does not perfectly reflect the nation at large, and asks students to consider strategies that other universities have used to focus on skin color as the paramount indicator of a student-applicant’s worth. The president of WWU has stated that his explicit goal is to reduce the white population on campus, according to Campus Reform. “I’ve said before and I’ll say it

How do you ensure that you won’t be ostracized, denounced, or fired if you are a media celebrity, captain of industry, or high public official? For some, sexist banter is certainly no problem. Stand-up comedian Bill Maher called Sarah Palin a c–t and a tw-t, but suffered no ill consequences. David Letterman joked on air that Sarah Palin’s 14-year-old daughter had had sex with Alex Rodriguez during a New York Yankees game. There was no downside to that either. President Obama tosses around “sweetie” as he wishes. No problem with that. No one believes Barack could be condescending to women.

When President Obama needed a preacher to fulfill the closing prayer duties at the annual White House Easter Prayer Breakfast, he turned to none other than the Episcopal Church’s first openly gay bishop — who said he was as shocked as anyone at the appointment. The Right Rev. Gene Robinson said in a tweet, accompanied by a photo of Mr. Obama behind a podium at the event: “POTUS ‘preaches’ at the Easter prayer breakfast. Then, out of the blue, asks ME to close with prayer. OMG!” Newsmax said he also emphasized that the words he chose to close the breakfast

WASHINGTON — Former President Jimmy Carter joined fellow Nobel laureates Wednesday in opposing Keystone XL, insisting that approving the pipeline would trigger “more climate upheaval” around the globe. In an open letter to President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry, Carter and the nine other Nobel Peace Prize winners bluntly warned the leaders: “Your decision on the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline will define your climate legacy.” The missive, published as an advertisement in Politico, represents the first time Carter has taken a position on the $5.4 billion project and makes him the first former president to come
