Georgia Couple Shocked Over
Racial Slur on Valet Ticket

ABC News, by Gillian Mohney

Original Article

A Georgia couple was shocked and disgusted to find a racial slur scrawled on a valet ticket after a night out at a local restaurant. After Candea and Sam Aarons had dinner at the Spondivits restaurant in East Point, Ga., on New Year’s Day, they found that the valet tag still affixed to their key chain had the phrase “jungle fever” written on one side. The phrase is a racial slur for an interracial couple. Candea Aaron said she initially didn’t notice anything unusual in their interaction with the valet, but in previous visits the tag was always removed from their key before they received it back. “I’ve never had their [valet] tag left

This makes the news? Even if it happened as reported, which is unlikely, it is not news.

"Jungle fever," a seemingly humorous phrase in a Stevie Wonder song and the title of a Spike Lee film, doesn´t seem to warrant the epithet of, "racial slur," nor does the incident seem to rise to the level of national network news coverage. This is probably an inadequately sensitive view.

#2, a time-saving rule of thumb for mastering the labyrinthine rules of Political Correctness:

Nothing said by a black is racist.
Nothing said by a white is non-racist.
The only complexity exists when both the speaker and hearer are of the same race.

I think the correct term is "Race Traitors", perhaps with the flu season coming on, the valet was simply concerned that they had their shots.

If the valet wrote it, knowing very well it would be traceable to him, he probably intended it as a celebration and affirmation of inter-racial harmony, like "Ebony and Ivory."

More likely, though, these days, it is an effort at "lawsuit lottery," a manufactured "offense" that probably "terrorizes" and pains the couple to a degree they consider worth millions of dollars.

Yep, like the note on the receipt to the very butch lesbian waitress that was all over the news a few weeks ago.

Not many people are dumb enough to risk their jobs, their reputations, perhaps even their physical safety, by writing that kind of stuff on a receipt then giving it to the ´victim´. They may whisper it behind their backs, but they aren´t going to give them evidence that can be traced to them.

And the recent racist graffiti spray painted on the house.

All turned out to be a fraud perpetrated by the ´victims´ themselves.

Yeah, there is racism. But I fear it is going to get worse instead of better. Because the ´protected minorities´ (sexual preference, racial, cultural, etc.) are so ´in your face´ about it, and and faking incidents.

Doesn´t the bulk of a valet´s income come from tips? If so, why in the world would he take the chance of losing a tip by writing something that might be noticed before the even stepped into their car? And... is it possible he´d been ´stiffed´ by this couple too many times in the past? All assuming of course, that the valet really was the one who wrote such a ´shocking racial slur.´

And again as others have noted, often incidents like this turn out to be untrue.

One of my several part-time jobs (thanks, Democrats) puts me next to this restaurant for :30 at a time, all times of day & night.

It´s a popular, well-run place, seems to attract nice people, and I´d estimate 50-70% of their customers are people of color.

I´d also bet my last paycheck (no big deal, thanks again Democrats) the note was an innocent, in-house valet description... the valet was also black... and the wife gets more grief about her marriage from blacks than from whites.

White men dating/marrying black women is not well received in the ´community´, and there is enormous pressure on black women to not commit "Racial Treason"....which is probably why ABC neglected to mention the race of the valet.

Washington - The latest delay to a final decision on the Keystone XL oil pipeline will reinforce a White House strategy to energize President Barack Obama´s liberal-leaning base before fall elections in which Democrats risk losing control of the U.S. Senate. Environmentalists, worried about the project´s effect on climate change, have put enormous pressure on the president to reject the pipeline from Canada´s oil sands, staging demonstrations outside the White House and protests in states where he travels. A decision to approve it now could have prompted that vocal group, which was instrumental in electing Obama in 2008 and 2012,

“On the third day, he rose again.” That line, from the Nicene Creed, is a foundational statement of Christian belief. It declares that three days after Jesus died on the cross, he was resurrected, a glimmer of the eternal life promised to believers. It’s the heart of the Easter story in seven little words. But how that statement is interpreted is the source of some of the deepest rifts in Christianity — and a stumbling block for some Christians, and more than a few skeptics. Did Jesus literally come back from the dead in a bodily resurrection, as many traditionalist

If you can get a New Jersey vanity license plate that reads “BAPTIST,” why not one that reads “8THEIST”? That’s the question Shannon Morgan, a self-describe atheist, is asking in a lawsuit after the New Jersey department of motor vehicles denied her vanity plate application. Her main complaint is a bureaucracy deeming that “8THEIST” has connotations that offend “good taste and decency,” the bar which the state uses to judge the suitability of personalized plate messages. She also wants the state to adopt a more “viewpoint-neutral” vanity plate approval policy, since when she typed “BAPTIST” into the DMV application it

A new poll shows former secretary of state Hillary Clinton´s (D) numbers hitting their lowest point in six years. Monaco, President Barack Obama’s assistant for homeland security and counterterrorism, insisted that American parents must be vigilant because their “confrontational” children could be on the verge of becoming terrorists. Monaco’s full, prepared text is available here. She presented the speech, entitled “Countering Violent Extremism and the Power of Community,” at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government on April 15. Monaco began her remarks by eloquently describing the lives tragically lost last year during the Boston Marathon bombings. Interestingly, the Harvard grad failed to mention the religion or the motive of brothers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan

WASHINGTON--Rushing to an afternoon vote last month, Sen. Ted Cruz hopped the underground tram to the U.S. Capitol from his office across the street. The Texan planted his black ostrich cowboy boots in the middle of the small subway car without getting so much as a nod from the other senators--Republican or Democrat--amiably chatting or huddled in their seats. Mr. Cruz finds himself standing alone a lot these days. His response to the cold shoulders: "The establishment despised Ronald Reagan" before he became president, "but the people loved him." For the 43-year-old Republican, the Reagan name illuminates his political life´s

Conservative columnist Ann Coulter — who used her talk show platform in the last presidential election cycle to campaign hard for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney — has taken up the mantra once again, calling on Republicans to give the failed White House bidder another shot in 2016. She made the suggestion during a discussion on Sean Hannity’s radio show while speaking of her new book, “Never Trust a Liberal Over 3-Especially a Republican.” Ms. Coulter also addressed the question of Mr. Romney’s shortcomings by saying that his 2012 loss wasn’t entirely his fault. “I think too much blame, not only in this

Prominent Washington correspondents are accusing President Obama and his aides of knowingly stretching the truth on issues like the so-called women´s pay gap just to create controversy and keep issues -- and the president -- relevant. Washington Post columnist Ruth Marcus kicked off the attack last week when she blasted as “demagoguery” the administration´s tactics during the pay gap debate. “The level of hyperbole -- actually, of demagoguery -- that Democrats have engaged in here is revolting,” she wrote. CBS White House Correspondent Major Garrett then weighed in this week in his National Journal

The Clintons had a busy night of celebrations after Chelsea announced she and husband Marc Mezvinsky are expecting a baby. Bill joined “House of Cards” star Kevin Spacey at the Revlon Rainforest Fund Benefit Concert at Carnegie Hall Thursday, joking of Spacey’s Machiavellian character, “When I was president people accused me of murder all the time, made a show of investigating. Spacey’s president for 15 minutes and he gets away with murder.” Spacey, who sang during the event with Sting, Stephen Stills and James Taylor, also showed off his Johnny Carson impression, taking a swipe at the coverage of Flight

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on Friday stood by his statement regarding embattled Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, saying on KSNV’s What’s Your Point?, “If anyone thinks by any figment of their imagination that what happened up there last week was just people rallying to somebody that was oppressed, 600 people came in armed. They had practiced. They had maneuvered.” Reid continued, “They knew what they were doing. They set up snipers in strategic locations with sniper rifles. They had assault weapons. They had automatic weapons. And they boasted about the fact that they put women and children, in fact one
