Britain´s version of Tea Party
rocks political system
across the pond

Fox News, by Adam Shaw

Original Article

Posted By:MDMuskrat, 1/4/2014 7:21:45 PM

The often stale British political system is being rocked by its very own Tea Party. The UK Independence Party (UKIP), formed in 1993 opposing Britain’s entry into the European Union, failed to make an electoral dent for a long time. However UKIP has built up steam in recent years and is spearheading a seismic shift in the British political spectrum. In this year’s local elections – the British version of midterms -- UKIP took a stunning 23 percent of the vote, up from the 3.1 percent they won in the 2010 national election.

Comments:
Along with a recent posting by Attercliffe, http://www.lucianne.com/thread/?artnum=766781
this piece shows a strong awakening (and resistance to) foreign influence on national sovereignty. And disgust with the emergence of a "Cartel Party" -- two political parties almost indistinguishable from each other.

Australia threw out the Labour Party after Julia Gillard lied about Carbon Credit Tax.
Now the Brits are telling Cameron the Lib/Conservative that his pandering to EU Bureacrats, selfie with Obama, and coddling of immigrants and Muslims at expense of Brits and military -is Shameful.
Hopefully, UK will throw out the Cartel Parties and USA will be next for a Trifecta of Freedom!

he UKIP is not a British Tea Party. The Tea Party is not a party. It does not nominate candidates, UKIP does. It does not make political decisions and take political positions which can be reviewed by the electorate, UKIP does.
Our Tea Party is not even just one group. There are many Tea Party members exerting positive influences on our politics. Unfortunately, there are a few cranks who claim the label when expressing their personal complaints. The Tea Party lacks the British party discipline technique which allows the UKIP to stifle the crazies.
Britain do not have an Electoral College and those who win seats in Parliament are seated and may vote for Prime Minister. We separate the Executive and Legislative functions thus making success for third parties quite difficult.
The last successful third party in the US, defined as one that has elected a President or controlled a House of Congress, is the Republican Party.
The Democrats know how to resolve their differences in house and win elections. It would be historic if we did likewise.

The Tea Party Movement "is" the disenfranchised of all parties who are fed up with the idiotic stupidity of politics so-called! Its members are the majority in this country and soon throughout the world!. We will not be dissuaded, deluded, compromised, delayed, detoured, bought or lured away. We will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, negotiate at the table of corruption, hesitate in the presence of adversary or meander in the maze of mediocrity. We won´t give up, shut up or let up because we´re prayed up and suited up. You won´t have any problem recognizing us! We’re through with phony, backstabbing, panty waist, cloistered backroom clique politics that have brought our country to ruin and the citizenry to impotence. For those who support the present madness: WE WILL VOTE YOU OUT!!!! WE WILL VOTE YOU OUT!!!! GOOD RIDDANCE!!!!

‘Defying Congress And The Rule

Washington- Sen. Ted Cruz said Attorney General Eric Holder should be impeached if he doesn’t indict former Internal Revenue Service official Lois Lerner, who is linked to the agency’s targeting of conservative groups. Speaking on Sean Hannity’s radio program Thursday, the Texas Republican labeled Holder the “most partisan attorney general the country has ever had,” and added that Holder should be impeached for “defying Congress and the rule of law.” Cruz cited the attorney general’s refusal to indict anyone in the months since the inspector general found that conservative and Tea Party groups were singled out for tax purposes. Armed Rangers were brought in from out of state by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to assist in security surrounding the Bundy Ranch, according to the family. A heated confrontation on Wednesday resulted in Cliven Bundy’s son Ammon being tasered by BLM officials and a 57-year-old protester being shoved to the ground. Stetsy Bundy Cox, Cliven’s daughter, told the Washington Free Beacon that some of the rangers had Oregon and California license plates. “You know, some of these guys don’t even know why they’re here,” she said. “A few people have talked to them and they got called in

Can Bobby Jindal´s Health Plan

Before conservative policy wonks can win any policy victories, they’ll need to overhaul the Republican Party. For an idea of what that might look like and the challenges any transformation will entail, they should look to one of the party’s wonkiest politicians, Louisiana Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal. Last week, as President Obama touted the 7.1 million private plan sign-ups in Obamacare’s first open enrollment period, Jindal gave the world a glimpse at what the outlines of a Republican alternative might look like. Not only would the plan repeal Obamacare; it would, among other things, overhaul the tax code to remove

Ayaan Hirsi Ali is a Power Line hero for reasons that will become clear below. Brandeis University was set to give her an honorary degree at this year’s commencement exercises. But bowing to pressure from Muslim students, outside advocacy groups, and a portion of its faculty, Brandeis has backed down. As much as I admire Ayaan Hirsi Ali, I don’t condemn Brandeis’ decision. My reasons will, I hope, also become clear below.

Iowa Democratic Rep. Bruce Braley is still taking flak for his recent put-down of Sen. Chuck Grassley. That´s all wrong. Give the trial lawyer a medal for alerting the electorate to a big—if overlooked—issue in this year´s midterm: legal reform. Mr. Braley, as part of his bid to replace retiring Sen. Tom Harkin, found himself at a fundraiser full of Texas trial attorneys. He scornfully warned that a GOP Senate would put the Judiciary Committee in the hands of "a farmer from Iowa [Mr. Grassley] who never went to law school."

Ted Cruz is not on the March 4 primary ballot. But his likeness is all over TV and in campaign materials, as a slew of Republican candidates on the primary ballot are using his words and — in rare occasions — his endorsement to reach out to voters. This year, having Cruz weigh in any way possible “is political gold,” said Mark P. Jones, a political science professor at Rice University in Houston. His thumbs up for a candidate serves “as a signal to Cruz’s plethora of supporters within the GOP primary electorate who the ‘true’ movement conservative in the in the race is,” he said. And that has made a number of candidates try to link themselves

A rapid shift to wind and solar power is needed if the world is to avoid catastrophic global warming, the United Nations warns in a crucial report today. Emissions of greenhouse gases need to be cut by up to 70 per cent before 2050 to control climate change, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) says. ‘Large-scale changes in energy systems’ are required, with coal power stations to be switched off and replaced by wind and solar. And the transformation needs to be made in the next 15 years or controlling climate change will become increasingly harder and more expensive. The report was published

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)

LAS VEGAS — The Nevada Republican Party stripped opposition to abortion and gay marriage from its platform Saturday as state convention delegates instead focused on judging fellow Republicans on their worthiness to serve in office and adherence to GOP values. The platform, with few changes, was adopted overwhelmingly as the Las Vegas convention stretched late into the evening. The vote mirrors that of the Clark County GOP, which voted earlier to remove platform language defining marriage as between a man and a woman and statements opposing abortion.
