Melissa-Harris Perry [sic] Cries During
On-Air Apology to Romney Family

NewsBusters, by Noel Sheppard

Original Article

Posted By:trapper, 1/4/2014 4:52:43 PM

As NewsBusters previously reported, MSNBC’s Melissa Harris-Perry and a panel of comedians last weekend senselessly mocked a picture of former Governor Mitt Romney’s family because it included his adopted black grandson. Although she’s already apologized on Twitter, Harris-Perry began her show Saturday with a heartfelt apology much of the time fighting through a lump in her throat and tears: MELISSA HARRIS-PERRY: Good morning. I´m Melissa Harris-Perry. We have a lot of news and politics to discuss this morning. Before we get to that, I´m going to start with an apology.

Comments:
No. Comedians ridicule and make fun of people. It´s just what they do. The ONLY reason that photo was put up was for them to ridicule the Romney family and their little black baby, and the only reason she is apologizing now is that she got blowback for it.

Please post properly as shown. Please do not submit author in lower-case letters & correct splitting of headline in RED on edit page where you post article. LCom Staff.

Boo Hoo what else can you expect from MSNBC? They have the worst of the worst. People are getting sick of the bashing of anything resembling a Republican or Conservative.

If she meant showing the photo to be celebratory, why did she not redirect the conversation when she saw where her guests were taking it?
She knew exactly what was going on, and she went along with it.
Now, she is trying to save herself and her job. Period.

After all the communist, far Leftist outpourings from this woman´s mouth, finally some push-back for her ignorance.

Remember when she said your children are not really your children? Something about them belonging to the collective. Imagine how she would treat your children, especially if they were not ethnic. She and her mouth are a danger to freedom and liberty.

She is a bully who is only sorry that she has finally been caught.

Nonsense. She read verbatim an overly dramatic, overly long, overdone explanation to try and cover everyone´s behind. The "break" in her voice to convey heartfelt emotion seemed as phony as the "explanation." I thought it more of that than a real straight apology. The headlines today describing this as her breaking down, crying are ridiculous overexaggerations of what we all saw. Can´t libs ever tell the truth?

The United States is planning to give up its last remaining authority over the technical management of the Internet. The Commerce Department announced Friday that it will give the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), an international nonprofit group, control over the database of names and addresses that allows computers around the world to connect to each other. Administration officials say U.S. authority over the Internet address system was always intended to be temporary and that ultimate power should rest with the "global Internet community." One of the least reported angles to the Crimea story is the plight of Russia´s Tatars - an ethnic group that was forcibly removed from their original home in the Crimea following World War II for supposedly collaborating with the Nazis. CPAC presented a panel on immigration today. I wasn’t there, but this report suggests that the panel was an improvement over last year’s, which was basically a cheerleading session for amnesty and a path to citizenship. Unlike last year, today’s panel included one member, Derrick Morgan of the Heritage Foundation, who opposes that agenda. The panel was supposed to discuss this question: “Can there be meaningful immigration reform without citizenship?” The answer is “yes” if one believes that amnesty represents meaningful immigration reform.

A U.S. appeals court on Wednesday ordered Google Inc to remove from its YouTube video-sharing website an anti-Islamic film that had sparked protests across the Muslim world. By a 2-1 vote, a panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Wednesday rejected Google´s assertion that the removal of the film "Innocence of Muslims," amounted to a prior restraint of speech that violated the U.S. Constitution. The plaintiff, Cindy Lee Garcia, had objected to the film after learning that it incorporated a clip she had made for a different movie, which had been partially dubbed and in which she

At the Olympics opener, there was Vladimir Putin, looking every inch the stolid Michael Corleone in the baptism scene from Godfather II. Putin was waiting impassively for those big snowflakes to turn into Olympic rings while plans were hatching in the Ukraine to commit murder. The Corleone baptism went better than the snowflakes spectacular, though. The snowflakes malfunction was worthy of the Soviet era. One snowflake failed to transform -- except on Russian TV, which, per London´s Telegraph, opens magically as Putin watches coolly. Fakery has always been a Russian specialty; brutality another.

House Republicans "capitulated" in agreeing to the two-year budget deal reached last night and left the country to deal with an unsustainable fiscal situation until the peak of the presidential primaries in 2015, when nothing will get done, former federal budget director David Stockman told CNBC on Wednesday. "First, let´s be clear—it´s a joke and betrayal," Stockman, who served under President Ronald Reagan, said on "Squawk on the Street." "It´s the final surrender of the House Republican leadership to Beltway politics and kicking the can and ignoring the budget monster that´s hurtling down the road."

Typically, constitutionalists accuse their establishment rivals of being moderate, risk-averse, stubborn old fools who lack faith in conservative principles. This is a soothing interpretation, as it begins from the hypothesis that the contest between conservatives and the GOP elite is a family feud. But there is another hypothesis -- less soothing, but, at least from an outsider´s bird´s-eye view, more reconcilable with the facts.
