De Blasio ‘Very Comfortable’ With
Controversial Inauguration Speeches

New York Observer, by Jill Colvin

Mayor Bill de Blasio today defended the controversial comments made by many of his inauguration speakers, including one cleric who described New York City as a “plantation.” “I am very comfortable with everyone’s remarks yesterday and I think the ceremony represented the positive aspiration of New Yorkers for a more just city,” he told reporters today after swearing in his new Police Commissioner, Bill Bratton, at a ceremony at 1 Police Plaza. Many of the speakers at Mr. de Blasio’s event yesterday, including civil rights activist Harry Belafonte, Rev. Fred Lucas Jr. and Public Advocate Tish James, raised eyebrows for portraying the

A liberal tsunami is about to flood NYC. They are going to deeply regret electing a Communist and installing him and his bizarre family in Gracie Mansion. It might be amusing to watch from the Midwest but I am very sympathetic toward any conservative left in New York. Get out if you can.

The now open arrogance of communists (stop calling them "progressives") like De Blasio shows they believe they are in the ascendancy now. They no longer feel the need to hide their true intentions with fake fuzziness about who they really are and what they really intend to do. If that isn´t enough to scare the bejesus out of voters and getting them to vote right this country is doomed.

We have other cities in our country, who have been run by people who were Communist but didn´t know it and really didn´t know their own policies were in common with Communist policies. That is one big problem our country has is that we don´t understand American or World history. If we even understood correct American history, we would never have elected Obama.

The cities that have had the misfortune to have fallen under the yoke of one of these evil tyrants have all suffered the same maladies : more and higher taxes, poor education, fraud, higher crime, break down of families, higher welfare numbers, loss of freedom and an uncompitive business environment.

However, one might say that NYC will be different because they are such a diverse city. We all will have a front row seat to see what happens to a great city who has so little sense, as to elect a bragging Communist as their mayor. It will be worse that what has happened to the USA, if that is possible. I hope I am wrong.

Courage is in short supply in our nation´s boardrooms. The complete surrender of the medical insurance industry to the fascist in the White House is example enough.

Conservative columnist Ann Coulter — who used her talk show platform in the last presidential election cycle to campaign hard for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney — has taken up the mantra once again, calling on Republicans to give the failed White House bidder another shot in 2016. She made the suggestion during a discussion on Sean Hannity’s radio show while speaking of her new book, “Never Trust a Liberal Over 3-Especially a Republican.” Ms. Coulter also addressed the question of Mr. Romney’s shortcomings by saying that his 2012 loss wasn’t entirely his fault. “I think too much blame, not only in this

He’s been hammered for going around Congress with executive orders. But he’s within his authority—and he should go further on voting and transparency to make government work better. With Congress paralyzed, President Obama has promised to use his “pen and phone” to overcome the ongoing dysfunction and get some work done. And the White House has already acted several times to help improve America’s economy. But such policies, no matter how valuable, will achieve little if we do not fix our broken democracy. Allow me to suggest some ideas for how the president can do just that. First, some historical context. Presidents

Here is a selection of highlights from Friday’s release of documents from the Clinton presidency. The cache is part of a total of about 33,000 pages of presidential records that had been held back from various public records releases because of legal reasons exempting them from disclosure. A Clinton administration memo (page 674) shows a White House that was acutely aware of the first lady’s image problems as officials contemplated how to soften perceptions of Hillary Clinton and how to “build, energize and expand” her natural base. The latest cache of previously withheld Clinton documents includes an

The GOP has been hijacked. That’s right, hijacked. Over the past 100 years, an elite progressive minority has taken the Republican Party far afield from its conservative platform and the interests and values of its grassroots conservative base. I’ll admit that, in the aftermath of the disappointments of the 2012 elections, conservatives like me are angry. We are angry at being blamed for Mitt Romney’s defeat, when we argued from the beginning that he was a Big Government establishment politician and that if he ran a content-free campaign, he would lose. We are angry at the disrespect shown to limited-government constitutional conservatives

Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent.
