Bob Grant, whose familiar voice boomed over the radio airwaves for more than 50 years, died on Tuesday, according to multiple reports and an obituary posted on the Branchburg Funeral Home’s website. He was 84. Grant, born Robert Ciro Gigante, first broke into the radio biz in the 1940s and scored gigs at major radio stations around the country before he got his big break when he moved to New York City in the ‘70s and began working for WMCA. He went on to be the afternoon host for WABC. After WABC, Grant made his way over to WOR and eventually turned

Comments:
A giant of the airwaves who paved the way for Limbaugh.
This guy could slice and dice the pseudo-intellectual effete liberal as well as the mouth breathing troglodyte variety of the species like no one else.
He predicted our country was "slipping and sliding into third-worldism back in the 1970´s and he was regrettably 100% correct.
"Now Get Off My Phone !!"
RIP

"Get off my phone," followed in special cases by "...you vile creature!" The man certainly had his memorable catch phrases that added spice to the proceedings, but he was also a true patriot and an unapologetically conservative trailblazer.

He was the first, the start of conservative talk radio! I remember listening to him on WMCA around 1971 on. Met him at the Reo Diner in Woodbridge, the day he was fired by WABC for the Ron Brown remark.

Protesters with The New Black Panther Party and the family of Alfred Wright held a demonstration in Jasper Monday. The gathering, called "National Rally for Justice for Alfred Wright" was held at the Texas Rangers office in Jasper on Highway 190 West. The rally was the second held since Wright disappeared November 7, 2013. Participants in the protest demanded entry into the Department of Public Safety building. They said they wanted to see Ranger Danny Young whose involvement in the investigation has been under question by the Wright family. Trooper Young was not at the building. 2014 is an election year. We know this because, once again, the Democrats are out in force with voices raised, full of outrage, trying to convince women that new laws are needed to ensure that they receive equal pay for equal work.(snip)What if one employee has more education? President Obama will not focus on gun control in his remarks at a Fort Hood memorial service, the White House said Tuesday. The president will head to Texas on Wednesday, where he´s scheduled to attend a memorial service at the military base where an Army truck driver shot and killed three soldiers before taking his own life last week. Another 16 people were wounded in the gunfire. Sharpton´s special relationship with the Justice Department may also explain why his NAN has been allowed to skirt responsibility for $1.9 million in back taxes and penalties it has owed the IRS since 2006

When friends and family members gathered recently at the White House for a private celebration of Michelle Obama’s 50th birthday, one of the invited partygoers was a former paid FBI Mafia informant. That same man attended February’s state dinner in honor of French President Francois Hollande. He was seated with his girlfriend at a table adjacent to President Barack Obama, who is likely unaware that, according to federal agents, his guest once interacted with members of four of New York City’s five organized crime families. Democrats are facing a senior problem that could get even worse this year. The party has traditionally had trouble with older voters, losing the group aged 65 and over by 21 points in 2010 — when Republicans picked up 63 seats — and by 12 points in the 2012 presidential race. Seniors are the GOP’s most reliable voting bloc in midterm years, turning out in higher numbers than Democratic base voters. A recent Gallup poll showed seniors have become even more Republican over the last two decades; in 2013, 48 percent considered themselves Republican. That spells trouble for Democrats, who are already facing

LONDON - Peaches Geldof, the wild-child second daughter of concert organizer Bob Geldof who worked as a model, a television presenter and a fashion writer and filled the pages of British tabloids with her late-night antics, has died at age 25. There was no immediate word on the cause of her death at her home in Wrotham, Kent, southeast England. Her father said in a statement Monday: "Peaches has died. We are beyond pain." "She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us," he said. "Writing 'was' destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable? We loved her and will cherish her forever."
