Gun reregistration begins in D.C.,
may lead to arrest and confiscation

Washington Times, by Emily Miller

For the first time in the United States, a citizen who has legally registered a gun will have to submit to a renewal process. The consequences of not knowing about this new law or missing the specific 60-day window are dire. Starting on Jan. 2, every single D.C. resident who has registered a firearm since 1976 must go to police headquarters to pay a $48 fee and be photographed and fingerprinted. (Snip) If the registrant does not go to the police station within three months after a set time frame, the registration is revoked. That citizen is then in possession

Comments:
Incredible how effective the Democrats are in fundamentally transforming the USA.

Fail to "register," and you´re a felon, the gun can no longer be registered, and the police can pay you a visit because (surprise) they already have your name and address on file. None of this applies to criminals, of course.

All registered guns should have been grand-fathered in, with only financial (paperwork) expenses allowed to be collected, at most.

There should never be even a hint of a *criminal* charge merely for exercising a right guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution!

The case can (and should) be made, of course, that mandatory gun registration is itself contrary to the Second Amendment.

Let´s hear it from the Hypocritical Gestapo. Bet they don´t the guts to reply.

As a future ´gun-free´ zone, Washington will now rival Chicago in shootings. It´s sad, but these idiots voted for it, so they get what they wanted. No hope, but more change!

The mainstream media is all for this kind of crap, too. Except for themselves, of course. Kind of like Oprah´s bodyguard carrying a gun but Oprah doesn´t want you to have one.

Eventually, there will be repercussions. Not sure I want to be alive when the stuff hits the fan. It´s gonna be ugly.

The only purpose of registration is ultimately confiscation and imprisonment of those considered enemies of the State.

Ask the Jews of 1935 Germany.

If you can find any still alive, that is.

Lawlessness in "government" is the reason we must resist.

#15, don´t count on the courts doing ANYTHING to stop the criminalization of Legal gun owners. NY ´lawmakers´ violated clear, NY state constitutional laws about how an illegal law like NY state´s SAFE act can be passed. Obviously, blatantly, illegal, but when a NY state appeals court reviewed it they only tweaked part of it and ruled that the rest of it was legal.

If you live in a gun friendly state now, all that means is that you are last in line. This has been a game of survival since the Black Panthers freaked out the citizens of CA in the 1960s. Prepare, they are coming for everyone.

Nashville, Tenn. — The state Senate on Tuesday passed a bill to allow Tennesseans to openly carry guns without a state-issued permit. The chamber voted 25-2 in favor of the bill sponsored by Republican Sen. Mae Beavers of Mt. Juliet. Beavers said the measure would maintain the current background checks and training requirements in order to carry concealed firearms, but would allow anyone legally allowed to own a gun to carry it openly without any extra restrictions. Beavers said on the Senate floor that requiring a carry permit "converts the right to carry a handgun into a privilege."
