New York City is a ‘plantation,’ says
de Blasio inauguration preacher

Daily Caller, by Chuck Ross

A Brooklyn pastor gave an invocation at Bill de Blasio’s mayoral inauguration on Wednesday comparing New York City to a Civil War-era “plantation” and asking for God’s help in ending inequality in the city. “End the civil wars and usher in a new Reconstruction era that builds upon the many successes and achievements of yesterday while proclaiming the beginning of a new beginning,” said Rev. Fred A. Lucas Jr., of Brooklyn Community Church. “Let the plantation called New York City be the city of God, a city set upon the hill. A light shining in the darkness,” Lucas prayed. Lucas,

And Harry Belafonte displayed his usual hateful self. There was a time when I loved his music, but I´ve broken those records over my knee.

It never ceases to amaze me how those people who call for an end to civil wars and to hatred are the most vehement about fanning the flames thereof. The whole lot of you can go to the blazes you deserve and I pity those few good people who are, for whatever reason, stuck in NY.

DeBlasio deserves credit for running as who he is without all the grand deception the left usually spew in their campaigns.Maybe people in Ny figure there´s no way to go but up.
One of the first things he´ll do is figure out a way to tax the hell out of Wall St.firms and small business.Wall St.will pay out of guilt and the money is free from the fed anyway.Having a safe haven to conduct financial fraud everyday has it´s protection racket expenses.

It´s becoming more clear everyday that people don´t want a responsible government, that is 1950´s thinking.Maybe by the end of this year, the Empire State Building will become the new Tower of babel.People there don´t speak the same language anyway, so who will notice.

Wonder how long it will take those people in NYC who voted for a Communist to figure out what Communism is. They deserve what they get for being so blind and ignorant. Remember how the actors and actresses and other entertainers started complaining when they found out what Obamacare really means to them personally! Are they in for a shock!

Lucas, who gave an invocation along with three other city religious leaders — an imam, rabbi and monsignor — continued, “Oh God, Oh God, Oh God; break every chain, break every chain, break every chain.”

The single thing that would "break every chain" is a change in the black culture at its core, which means sprinkling some shame on the violence, birth-illegitimacy rate, profanity, lack of emphasis on education and on family life. But that´s too hard and certainly too controversial to even mention.

“We are called to put an end to economic and social inequalities that threaten to unravel the city we love.

Yes, you are. And what are you actually doing about it? Granted there are some deserving poor but too many are generational welfare entitlement Obamaphone people with no sense that other hard-working people pay for their needs. And certainly there is no gratitude.

And so today we commit to a new progressive direction in New York,” said de Blasio with former Mayor Michael Bloomberg, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, and Bill and Hillary Clinton in attendance.

In that group, the only people missing are Rev. Wright, the Obamas and Saul Alinsky.

Bloomberg is the most dangerous. Low profile so far, he´s the one to be very afraid of.

DeBlasio´s inauguration is a great window into what his administration will be like. Leftist claptrap rhetoric, and hate filled incompetent socialists running the City. As a retired 30 year NYC manager, I can tell you and echo poster #9´s sentiments, that the losing of the FDR Bible is a clear harbinger of how this administration will be run. That bible wasn´t lost. It was stolen, and when the low IQ perpetrators saw the reaction they returned it some hours later. The DeBlasio administration will be marked by incompetence reinforced by corruption. I know these people well. NYC, be proud of your vote, for you are in for it.

Bill de Blasio´s real name is William Wilhelm. Yes, he changed it to his mother´s maiden name when he was in his 20´s because of his daddy issues. Didn´t legally change it until he was 41. Sound familiar? He will be just like Clinton, Obama, etc. and a disaster for NYC. The slaves on plantations produced something that was needed.
The slaves on the plantations actually married the women who bore their children.
Unemployment among the slaves on plantations was kept at 0%.

I truly wish the black slaves had never been brought to the USA, which resulted in their descendents being in such misery today.

Of all the US micro-economies, NYC has long struck me as being closest to a plantation. The key thing is not that there are Blacks and PRs who do not make a lot of money - after all they get plenty of freebies, jobs set asides, etc. Considering their productivity and the politically-required payoffs, they are taken as a whole, a drain on the system.

The real (1) cheap labor input (as it was during the 1800s) are the immigrants. For (2) higher skilled positions NYC requires the sons and daughters of ´flyover country´ drawn to the so-called glamour of the city, who have to spend whatever ´premium salaries´ they earn on exorbitant taxes and even more exorbitant rents. The typical career outcome for these ´bright young things´ is some good memories, no savings and no children when they reach old age. NYC is a plantation - or even a vampire economy - take your choice. It´s not self-sustaining without fresh waves of illegals nor without talented but short-sighted youngsters from the outlands.

President Obama asserts that 8 million people have signed up for Obamacare, as though that were something to be proud of. In fact, Obamacare has always been a fiasco from a fiscal perspective–a black hole of subsidies and expanded Medicaid, with largely fictitious mechanisms in place to pay for it. As the number of subsidized participants grows, the disaster gets worse. Charles Blahous explains: Our national discussion…is missing the truly significant story here; what is unfolding before our eyes is a colossal fiscal disaster, poised to haunt legislators and taxpayers for decades to come. WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama will leave Tuesday for a four-nation trip to Asia, looking to recharge a focus on the region, an ambitious initiative that’s been sidetracked by domestic politics and international conflicts elsewhere. Yet even as Obama attempts to boost his effort to emphasize U.S. interest in Asia, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s intervention in Ukraine is complicating efforts to reassure Asian nations _ which share the region with an increasingly assertive China - that the U.S. is committed to their security. One of the Obama administration’s favorite themes is the idea that Republicans have been waging a “war on women.” Though Democrats may overestimate the appeal of this canard, the notion that troglodyte conservatives seek to send American women back to the 19th century has become a form of conventional wisdom, especially in the liberal mainstream media. But though that war is a piece of fakery rooted in the confusion between political liberalism and gender equality, there is little doubt about the reality of another war on women: the one that is being waged by left-wing ideologues against any female Republican

Earlier this week, we hosted a Passover Seder at the White House, and joined Jewish families around the world in their re-tellings of the story of the Exodus and the victory of faith over oppression. And this Sunday, Michelle, Malia, Sasha, and I will join our fellow Christians around the world in celebrating the Resurrection of Christ, the salvation he offered the world, and the hope that comes with the Easter season. These holy days have their roots in miracles that took place long ago. And yet, they still inspire us, guide us, and strengthen us today. They remind us of our

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday that a family of dissident ranchers and their supporters in his home state of Nevada are ´domestic terrorists,´ citing this week´s standoff with the federal government´s Bureau of Land Management. Cliven Bundy has refused to pay grazing fees for land where his hundreds of cattle roam every day. The land is owned by the federal government, which says he owes more than $1 million. Bundy, however, insists that since his family has been using the land since the 1870s, Uncle Sam can´t collect the grazing fees. A tense standoff developed this week after

To "honor the dignity and work of immigrants," Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi helps Bishop Marc Andrus wash the feet of two children Thursday at Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in San Francisco. Pelosi also used the occasion to talk about passing HR15 - bipartisan immigration legislation that her office says would "reduce the deficit by nearly $1 trillion, secure our borders, unite our families, protect our workers and provide an earned pathway to citizenship." The Democratic leader´s ceremony coincides with Pope Francis´ similar ceremony in Rome to mark Holy Week.

WASHINGTON--Rushing to an afternoon vote last month, Sen. Ted Cruz hopped the underground tram to the U.S. Capitol from his office across the street. The Texan planted his black ostrich cowboy boots in the middle of the small subway car without getting so much as a nod from the other senators--Republican or Democrat--amiably chatting or huddled in their seats. Mr. Cruz finds himself standing alone a lot these days. His response to the cold shoulders: "The establishment despised Ronald Reagan" before he became president, "but the people loved him." For the 43-year-old Republican, the Reagan name illuminates his political life´s

Imagine a vendor on the National Mall, selling burgers and dogs, who hasn’t paid his rent in 20 years. He refuses to recognize his landlord, the National Park Service, as a legitimate authority. Every court has ruled against him, and fines have piled up. What’s more, the effluents from his food cart are having a detrimental effect on the spring grass in the capital. Would an armed posse come to his defense, aiming their guns at the park police? Would the lawbreaker get prime airtime on Fox News, breathless updates in the Drudge Report, a sympathetic ear from Tea Party Republicans?

Conservative columnist Ann Coulter — who used her talk show platform in the last presidential election cycle to campaign hard for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney — has taken up the mantra once again, calling on Republicans to give the failed White House bidder another shot in 2016. She made the suggestion during a discussion on Sean Hannity’s radio show while speaking of her new book, “Never Trust a Liberal Over 3-Especially a Republican.” Ms. Coulter also addressed the question of Mr. Romney’s shortcomings by saying that his 2012 loss wasn’t entirely his fault. “I think too much blame, not only in this
