Prosecutors have questioned officials in one of Egypt’s largest telecommunications companies over an online advertisement featuring a puppet, which a controversial blogger has accused of delivering a coded message linked to the Muslim Brotherhood group, the company said Wednesday. The accusations made against Vodafone Egypt’s ad starring well-known puppet Abla Fahita come shortly after the government designated the Brotherhood a terrorist organization. The government accused the Brotherhood of orchestrating a series of attacks by Sinai militants, but has provided little evidence to prove the connection.

A professor who teaches constitutional law courses at the City University of New York’s John Jay College of Criminal Justice penned a Christmas Day essay blaming “southern White radicals” for the disastrous, slow-motion train wreck failure that has been the rollout of the Affordable Care Act. The essay, by Gloria J. Browne-Marshall at the website Politics in Color, is entitled “2013: A Year of Racial Challenges.” “[S]outhern White radicals vowed to stop implementation of the Obama-care law leading one to wonder if Tea Party members would oppose affordable healthcare if it came from a nonBlack [sic] President,”

EUGENE, Ore. - Someone carved an obscenity into the plaque honoring President Barack Obama´s 2009 Nobel Peace Prize at a park honoring all of America´s winners of the award. The vandalism to the Nobel Peace Park in Alton Baker Park will cost $700 to repair. Richard Zucker with the City of Eugene said the vandalism isn´t just about the money. "I know this is politically involved, but this is a place that´s supposed to unite everyone," he said. "It´s for meditation, reflection. It´s no place for crass, political statements." The plaque has been removed while crews work to replace it.

HONOLULU - State insurance officials have approved rate increases for Hawaii Medical Service Association and Kaiser Permanente Hawaii health plans that were expected to be canceled as President Barack Obama´s federal health insurance overhaul takes effect. The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported Tuesday the state Insurance Division approved increases of 9.2 percent for 11,000 individual plans and 5 percent for 26,300 small business plans administered by Kaiser. HMSA will be allowed to increase rates on 14,300 individual plans by 7.5 percent. HMSA increased small business rates by 6.8 percent for 118,000 members earlier this year. Insurers say the increases are necessary to cover higher

As a New Year´s resolution it was a little extreme. At the start of 2013, Melbourne couple Janette Murray-Wakelin, 64, and Alan Murray, 68, set out to run around Australia for a year, completing a marathon a day. That´s 365 marathons, or more than 15,000 kilometres. With no day off. About 3pm on Tuesday, barring a catastrophe, they will achieve their goal, jogging triumphantly up St Kilda Road to their starting point, Federation Square.

The North Korean dictator took a moment for quiet reflection after a busy year of family drama and brutal executions during a visit to his Masik Pass Ski Resort propaganda project: The lift, analysts say, is a 1970s model and has been ripped off from another resort after European lift sellers canceled North Korea’s pre-order due to sanctions imposed on luxury goods. Kim touts the ski resort is for the people, but the average wage in the country is less than $100 a month. Admission fee for Masik Pass is $50. A new study published in Nature suggests that climate change is even worse than scientists had previously anticipated, upgrading the forecast from "dangerous" to "catastrophic." If ever there were an issue that demanded greater cooperation, partnership, and committed diplomacy, this is it." But the unnerving escalaton in climate change is unlikely to be abated without significant U.S. support—and for the time being, the Republican party insists on stonewalling any efforts to offset the human-caused

Obama’s nominee process involves finding the worst person on earth for that job or any job. It’s a process that never fails. In this case, he came up with Debo Adegbilem cop-killer Mumia Abu Jamal’s lawyer and a supporter of discriminating against white students for reasons of race. President Barack Obama’s nominee to head the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) Civil Rights Division led the group that represents convicted cop killer Mumia Abu-Jamal. The thirteenth year of the twenty first century has seen tremendous change and political upheaval in the United States, and well as the World as we know it. The past year has seen a government shut-down, scandal after scandal, and a profoundly changing political landscape in Washington. Much of that change has been the culmination of the advance of Progressive ideology through the political battlefields of Washington, DC. Through the revelation of scandals and the implementation of certain government programs and policies, 2013 was defined by the Progressive, and the ideology that the ends justify the means in the quest to achieve

The Department of Justice reports that homosexuals are more likely (15.4% of them) than heterosexual men (10.8%) to be physically attacked by a domestic partner. But the DOJ also found that 39% of cohabiting lesbians say they have been raped, attacked, or stalked by a lover, as opposed to 21.7% of heterosexuals who live with men. This means a lesbian is about twice as likely as a hetero woman to be stalked or slapped around by a live-in lover. A hugely disproportionate number of male serial killers have been homosexual; figures run from 40 to 60% depending on definitions. Some

It was the 2013 Politifact "Lie of the Year," our president´s now infamous line: "If you like your health care plan, you can keep it." Now all Americans are realizing what Catholics have known from the beginning: President Barack Obama is a master of deception. Lest people forget, passage of the Affordable Care Act happened in part because Obama struck a deal with a single Catholic holdout: Bart Stupak, D-Michigan. Stupak agreed to vote for the bill in exchange for an executive order protecting conscience rights and preserving the Hyde Amendment´s ban on the use of federal funds for abortion.

The establishment GOP in Washington hates the Tea Party and the conservative wing of the party more than they do the Democrats. They will make very clear that instead of riding a conservative wave to a landslide victory in the 2014 midterms, they will do everything in their power to sabotage conservative and Tea Party candidates for their own personal benefit. Many establishment groups have been vocal about their strategy to attack principled conservatives. Colorado will make history Wednesday as the first American state allowing stores to sell marijuana for recreational use – eliciting fear and predictions of doom from anti-drug campaigners. On a Tuesday conference call hosted by Smart Approaches to Marijuana, former Rep. An air rescue for the passengers aboard a research ship that has been trapped in Antarctic ice for a week will wait for a break in the weather to start airlifting people from the vessel, Australian maritime authorities say. New Jersey Governor Chris Christie signed landmark legislation at the end of December which allowed the state’s undocumented high school students access to in-state tuition at all public colleges and universities. Under the new legislation, students who graduated from a New Jersey high school where they had been in attendance for at least three years are eligible to receive in-state and in-county rates at state colleges, universities, and community college campuses. “This is what compromise looks like,” the governor said of the bill, deemed the state’s “Dream Act.” Christie signed the original bill with a conditional veto,

(Video) It may have been the least productive year for Congress in history, at least in terms of passing laws – fewer than 60 of which made it through the House and Senate and were signed by President Barack Obama. Across the country, however, state lawmakers were busy getting more than 40,000 bills passed, ones that tackle everything from drones to food stamp benefits. In Illinois for example, teenagers will no longer get to use tanning beds without a doctor´s note. If you live in Delaware, visit the shark fin buffet while you can, a new law will make it illegal to own, sale, or distribute the controversial delicacy.

According to Fox News, Rosenthal said: For anyone wondering why it´s so important to Republicans that Al Qaeda orchestrated the attack--or how the Obama administration described the attack in its immediate aftermath--the answer is simple. The Republicans hope to tarnish Democrat candidates by making it seem as though Mr. Obama doesn´t take Al Qaeda seriously. Rosenthal
