It’s official: Obamacare debuts with
more cancelled plans than enrollments

Obamacare may have promised health insurance for the masses. But on its first day, it’s left more Americans without coverage than before the law was passed. More than 4.7 million Americans had their health insurance cancelled as a result of any of the thousand-plus-page law’s new rules, the Associated Press reports, but the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) confirmed Tuesday that between federal and state exchanges, just 2 million Americans have signed up for Obamacare coverage. The Obama administration has yet to announce the final tally of full enrollments, which are only confirmed once customers have

I read itt was 1 million who signed up last week and now it´s 2 million allof a sudden.Plenty of people, who are trying to enroll get a comeback later or we´ll tell you a good time to try.I think most sign ups are happening at the street level where the navigator can cherry pick the type people they want overed.

You´re making a mistake believing anything this admin.puts out there in numbers, they´re either outright lies or convoluted stories of where people find themselves.

The ones who have completed the whole sign up process are probably headed for medicaid expansion, which leads to these fools bragging about enrollment numbers by giving something away for free.

They want as much confusion over who´s paying or not as they can get. The facade of it being popular is good enough for them.

They would look stupid coming out and bragging about record numbers on food stamps and disability but this is essentially the same thing, people dogging for free stuff.

The only statistic of value would be Annualized Dollar amount of premiums paid divided by number of people signed up. And even that would be most bogus. Of the paying people signing up, many will make a few monthly payments, then stop. Same happens with lower end auto insurance, which is also mandatory. That´s why so many drivers are not insured despite what the law says.

Not surprising. After all, BarryCare aka Demonrat Care aka the Death Bill was all about redistribution of wealth from the middle class to save the parasite class and to kill off all the old people.

This matters not a whit, until the GOP buckles down and makes sure the scheme is repealed and not "fixed". If history is any indication, the GOP will double down on "helping people" (we´re as compassionate as the Left, promise!) and attempt to "fix" Obamacare - making it another permanent fixture of the landscape like other Democrat schemes such as Social Security and Medicare. As enrolment increases, this becomes more inevitable.

The article said that Obamacare debuts with more cancelled plans than enrollments.

It’s not just the debut. ObamaCare will always be plagued with more cancelled plans than enrollments. The reason is that this mess makes the costs of enrollment very high and the penalty for not enrolling very low. People can wait until they get sick to enroll, pay a relatively small amount in penalties for not enrolling, and then, after they get sick, enroll and get the coverage they need.

This path is sensible for each individual but is disastrous for the program as a whole. It will lead to ever increasing premiums for those who are enrolled and a greater and greater number of enrollees deciding to join the ranks of the “lets wait until I’m sick to pay” group. That’s the “death spiral” which collapses the whole mess.

Leaving people with no option but to enroll in O´Care was exactly the plan by this administration. The Obamaradicals are high-fiving it throughout the White House and the halls of Capitol Hill.

All those cancellations are their Nirvana.

No worries, Barry. I´ve got a couple of options for ya.
Give it a few more weeks or months to get those numbers where you want. And then roll the date back to JAN 1 for just a few minutes so you can say ACA met all expectations in a timely manner. The low foes will think this is reasonable and move on.
Or perhaps you could send a stooge out to "reveal" a newly-discovered glitch in the tallying system which made the enrollment numbers look far worse than they "really" were.
What´s a little more sleight of hand in your House of Cards, anyway?

All that has happened so far is really just the tip of the iceberg. Since most Americans receive their medical insurance thru their employers and they have been granted a 1 yr delay(conveniently after the 2014 mid term elections) that´s when it really hits the fan. And all of these "fixes" that have been floating around DC are only a 1 yr "fix". Sound familiar? Do what ever is necessary to COYA and cover any and all dims that have to run for re-election. That´s all that´s in their brains at the moment. It truly points out the fact that dims will do ANYTHING for political power.

Would someone please explain to me how expansion of Medicaid enrollment is meaningful.

I believe the way it has been working, if someone with no health insurance and no job and no assets got sick or injured and went to the emergency room, they got medical treatment and the government (read "you and I") eventually paid the hospital and doctor bills because they couldn´t. Think of all the gang shootings, etc., where multiple surgeries and rehab are provided to someone living in the projects at no cost to them (you´re welcome).

So how does signing up for Medicaid BEFORE you get shot change anything? Perhaps I´m just dull, but I don´t get it. Seriously. I don´t get it.

Wait a minute. Maybe I do get it. If the hospitals and doctors used to eat those bills and pass along those costs to us in higher fees we paid, advance Medicaid signup would now allow them to bill the government ("you and me") instead of eat them (which they didn´t, really, because we paid them in OUR higher bills). But does anyone REALLY think any of them will REDUCE their bills as a result, or to the full extent of their Medicaid (you and me) reimbursements? Heck! I wouldn´t. New Mercedes for ME, that´s what I´d do. And that´s exactly what they will do. PLUS, we still pay for the deadbeat bills the government (you and I) pays because the government gets the money from US. Any way you look at the math we get screwed ... again.

Washington - A federal appeals court on Tuesday upheld the Environmental Protection Agency’s emission standards for hazardous air pollutants from coal- and oil-fired power plants. In its ruling, the court rejected state and industry challenges to rules designed to clean up mercury, lead, arsenic and other dangerous air pollutants. The new regulations were designed to remove toxins from the air that contribute to respiratory illnesses, birth defects and developmental problems in children. Some industry groups have criticized the standards, saying the EPA was overstating the benefits. Industry groups argued it would cost billions of

You don´t have to go to the Griffith Observatory or other prime watching spot to view the first total lunar eclipse of 2014. Numerous "blood moon" video streams are available on the Web. The Griffith Observatory will be streaming the event live from the Zeiss dome beginning at 9:45 p.m. The Slooh Observatory in the Canary Islands will also be doing a live stream. NASA is also planning a live stream, with experts taking questions from viewers. For those who want to take in the event in person, Griffith Observatory decided to open its doors Monday (it´s usually closed). Guantanamo Bay Navy Base, Cuba - A military judge abruptly recessed the first 9/11 trial hearing of the year Monday after defense lawyers accused the FBI in open court of trying to turn a defense team security officer into a secret informant. If true, the lawyers argued, attorney-client confidentiality might be compromised in the case that seeks to put on trial and execute five men accused of orchestrating the Sept. 11 attacks that killed 3,000 people in New York, Pennsylvania and at the Pentagon. At issue, in part, was the publication in January of prison camp musings by the alleged 9/11 mastermind, Khalid Sheik Mohammed,

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day.
