The Obama administration announced Tuesday that 2.1 million people had enrolled in new health plans ahead of Obamacare exchanges going into effect Jan. 1, but officials could not say how many Americans had actually paid for such coverage.“The new law is transformational for our entire health care system,” Health and Human Services Secretary Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said in a conference call with reporters, announcing the new enrollment figures. According to the Obama administration, more than two million people have enrolled in health insurance plans through the federal and state exchanges, and 3.9 million Americans have “learned they’re eligible for coverage through

Obama´s definition on how to enroll 2.1 million people into Obamacare.

1. Set up rules that send over 5 million people, people who were responsible enough to purchase their own individual policies, to lose that insurance that they were satisfied with.

2. Get less than half that number to sign on to higher price, lower quality insurance.

I put the under/over number at 93,000.

We were watching FOX this morning. We were outraged as they had on the usual split screen, learn nothing new, Republican vs. Democrat Spin Fest. The anchor let both sides discuss how many signed up (or didn´t) and not a word on IF THEY PAID !!!! The media is still helping this administration sugarcoat this thing!! A local physician pal had his first patient come walking in ready for his "free" healthcare. The doc just happened to be sitting in the receptionist area at the time. The guy comes in and states he has Obamacare. The Doc talked to him and asked how do you know? Well, he had signed up online. Then, the fella was asked if he paid? Needless to say, the poor fella was dumbfounded that he was ever going to be expected to pay ANY sort of premium. The Doc let him know that until he did pay, he wasn ´t on Obamacare. He left the office. It´s just the beginning, isn´t it?

I think this argument is a non-starter. How many of you pay for something before you get the product? I put down $500 for a $9000 job that will get started in a couple weeks. When it´s done, that´s when I´l pay for it.

When I subscribe to a cell phone service, I get the phone and yak for a month before I get the first bill... granted, they´ve done a credit check on me (and the gov´t has MORE information than that at its disposal.)

Face it... people will pay once the service starts... if they´ve signed up, IF the computer does a good job, IF they want to continue with what I predict will be overpriced and shoddy. Few ´IFs´ there.
