Edward Snowden´s attorney says
NSA leaker wants to come home

Washington Examiner [DC], by Sean Lingell

An attorney for Edward Snowden said the exiled National Security Agency leaker wants to return to the United States — but not if the move would result in a life behind bars. "Sure he would come back to the United States. He hopes to come back to the United States," Ben Wizner, Snowden´s legal adviser and director of the ACLU’s Speech, Privacy and Technology Project, told NBC´s "Meet the Press" Sunday. "If there´s one thing that we all should agree on is that Edward Snowden shouldn´t be in Russia," he said. Snowden, who fled the U.S. earlier this year after leaking classified information

The lawyer made a compelling case. This is a situation where it´s wrong and right at the same time. Quite the conundrum.

It would be unwise for him to return. A government that has no qualms about violating the rights of hundreds of millions of people daily wouldn´t even think twice about killing one guy. Safe bet that order has already been given and the plan in place.
Maybe he could change his name to Pancho and walk over from Mexico.

I hate the Obama Administration and what they have the NSA, EPA, FBI and TSA doing, but this little worm went out of his way to embarass and harm his own country. And he did it in two countries that can arguably be considered a couple of our worst enemies. I don´t think he should spend the rest of his life in jail. I think he should face capital punishment. He is a sniveling traitor.

#2 is right. America is run by a criminal gang. We´ve already seen their MO - lie and deny, and then just brazen it out. He could reach some thoughtful, generous agreement with them, then find himself vanishing into the American equivalent of the Gulag or worse. Then his captors or murderers would just baldly deny that they´d made ANY deal, and if evidence came out against them, they´d just refuse to acknowledge it. It´s how they´ve managed Fast & Furious, Benghazi, death panels, you name it. They believe in "facts on the ground", not words.

As for Snowden being a traitor, I guess he is in a sense: to the people who´re angry that he ripped away the comforting veil of illusions they were living under. Now they have to face the fact that they´re living in a dead democracy, and they don´t like it one bit. If they could extract a little revenge against that pesky whistleblower, maybe they could go back to sleep again and pretend that "all is well". The damage that´s being done to America´s security is all being done by Obama, not Snowden.

A parking ticket, traffic citation or involvement in a minor fender-bender are enough to get a person´s name and other personal information logged into a massive, obscure federal database run by the U.S. military. The Law Enforcement Information Exchange, or LinX, has already amassed 506.3 million law enforcement records ranging from criminal histories and arrest reports to field information cards filled out by cops on the beat even when no crime has occurred. LinX is a national information-sharing hub for federal, state and local law enforcement agencies. It is run by the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, raising concerns among some

Chemerinsky argues, as many have argued before him, that Ginsburg—who turned 81 on Saturday, has survived one type of cancer and one cancer scare, and has broken her ribs twice in the past two years—should retire this summer in order to ensure that “a Democratic president will be

In the final push before the end of open enrollment on March 31, the Obama administration has spent millions to promote Obamacare. From January to the end of March the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, which is administering the president’s signature health-care law will have spent $52 million on paid media for Obamacare. Meaning, if all goes according to the most recent plan and the administration reaches its revised enrollment goal of six million, taxpayers will have spent nearly $9.00 per signup on advertising alone. The environmental left is seeing Democrats the Keystone XL pipeline, and raising them natural-gas exports. The question of who folds on this issue will play big in this midterm election year. A split is growing in the Democratic Party, one that ought to rival the divisions on the right that the headlines trumpet. Greens are increasingly bitter about President Obama —annoyed that he´s dropped climate legislation, scaled back green subsidies, ignored fracking. They´ve channeled their frustration into the fight against Keystone, warning that they´ll turn their significant money and resources against Mr. Obama´s party if the president approves more "dirty oil."

For all of the nonchalant assurances that he is neither a “dictator” nor an “emperor,” Barack Obama is certainly trigger-happy with the power jokes. The president’s latest witticism was inspired by his much-debated appearance on Between Two Ferns, during which he traded carefully scripted barbs with actor Zach Galifianakis. “Zach actually was pretty nervous,” Obama explained to Ryan Seacrest in a postmortem interview. “His whole character is to go after the guest, and I think he was looking around and seeing all these Secret Service guys with guns and thinking, I wonder what happens here if I cross the line? Eighteen months ago former Clinton Secretary of State Madeline Albright attacked Governor Romney’s warning that Russia is America’s number one geopolitical foe: “He is not up to date and that is a very dangerous aspect; that’s just an example of his 20th century approach to 21t century issues.” The idea: conflict with Russia was a relic of the cold war and that since the now infamous “reset,” identifying them as a threat and a problem was naive and silly. Judge Eric F. Melgren rightly ruled that the agency had no authority to tell the states their requests were invalid. He noted that the decision by the election

Is Barack Obama simply too busy to be Chief Executive of the United States? Apparently. One of the primary functions of the president is to keep the nation safe, to preserve it from its enemies. To do that effectively, one would actually have to maintain something of a consistent level of attention to the moving pieces that directly influence how future events will unfold. None other than the truly sycophantic thinks for a second that President Obama cares a whit for anything that does not involve fundamentally altering the social composition of this country. Or golf. Black students are more likely to be suspended from U.S. public schools — even as tiny preschoolers. The racial disparities in American education, from access to high-level classes and experienced teachers to discipline, were highlighted in a report released Friday by the Education Department´s civil rights arm. The suspensions — and disparities — begin at the earliest grades. Black children represent about 18 percent of children in preschool programs in schools, but they make up almost half of the preschoolers who are suspended more than once, the report said. Six percent of the nation´s districts with preschools reported suspending at
