The New York Times Whitewashes Benghazi
Weekly Standard, by Thomas Joscelyn

Original Article

David D. Kirkpatrick of the New York Times has published a lengthy account of the September 11, 2012, terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya. While much in Kirkpatrick’s report is not new, the piece is receiving a considerable amount of attention because of this sweeping conclusion: “Months of investigation by The New York Times, centered on extensive interviews with Libyans in Benghazi who had direct knowledge of the attack there and its context, turned up no evidence that Al Qaeda or other international terrorist groups had any role in the assault.” But how much effort did Kirkpatrick expend to uncover any

The NYT still has Walter Duranty´s Pulitzer for his LIES about the Ukranian famine-a man made famine created by Uncle Joe.
They have no shame.
Now they are Lying about Benghazi to install hilary aka the Butcher of Benghazi after the current fraud in the WH.
They are the propaganda arm of the Socialists Party aka Dem Party in America.
No credibility.
The Ghosts of Benghazi will not rest until the CIC and SOS who allowed terrorists to murder them and lied about a video are held to account.

Not one mention of then Secy. of State Hillary Clinton. Not one.

But Kirkpatrick did manage to track down tangential and obscure Muslims to get their opinions.

Solid reporting there, David.

We owe it to the four dead Americans and their families to not allow this tragedy be spun by the lying progressives in this country. For once there needs to be solid pushback everytime an article like this is published or some talking head on TV tries to rewrite history. They should not be allowed to spew their lies unchallenged. They must be held accountable for their words. Far too long articles like this one are allowed to stand. No more. Complacency no longer is an option. More than ever the lies of the progressive political propaganda machine, aka, the New York Times, must be exposed.

I used to think that if 9/11 had occurred while a Democrat was in the White House, then the War on Terror would have been the new "Holy War." But now I don´t think so. I suspect that Al Gore would have tried to find some way to ignore the whole thing, or at least try to "minimize the damage." If you need evidence to support this, just consider the David Kirkpatrick and New York Times whitewash ...

Great point there, #2. In order to understand the media´s reporting of the news nowadays, we must constantly ask ourselves, "What´s NOT said?" What they omit reveals a pattern and that pattern confirms that the omissions are intentional and purposeful.
To avoid lawsuits, the MSM is usually very careful with the facts they *do* present--- but the total piece is distorted and therefore inaccurate due the information that is withheld.
What´s not said becomes more important than what´s said.

A NYT ´investigation´ of Benghazi is literally not worth the cost of the paper it´s printed on. An obvious attempt to cover up for Hillary. Some people will believe this fairy tale because they want to. It will be widely quoted by liberals who still think anything printed in this rag must be true. The evidence says otherwise.

Yes, I am sure the Clintons did pay---they´ve got plenty of cash from their sham foundation which spends more than it takes in and has made them very rich. It´s even bought Chelsea a multi-million dollar apartment in midtown Manhattan--and she and her husband don´t even seem to work!

Rinctum very sensibly reminds us to openly, doggedly challenge enemy propaganda. But he only goes half way and leaves all the destructive bad guys with a large portion of the power they want to keep.
Too many good people blindly, foolishly continue to call destroyers of America, inaccurate names, like liberal and progressive as Rinctum does here.
At the very LEAST, they are socialists. There are so many powerful names available, but collectivist, statist, authoritarian, lefty, are perfectly appropriate for the mild mannered patriots.
However, if you are firm in your beliefs that all this mounting destruction is reminding you of Hitler´s socialism or Stalin´s communism, then maybe you can allow yourself to use harsher words, like fascist, totalitarian, commie, Marxist, red, nazi, ANTI-liberal,
RETROgressive
From The Founding Fathers, Tom Paine, all the way up
to Milton Friedman, Ayn Rand, these were all true classic liberals, the word that stands for freedom.
Marxists STOLE these two good words almost 100 years ago. They knew the people would not like it if they continued caking themselves by their original names, Fabian socialists, Keynesian socialists or communists.

To truly go on the aggressive, we must least label them correctly ! Imagine if Rush, Mark and Glenn would call
them correctly! If FoxTV would come out of the closet and call Bob Beckel at least a socialist, and Juan Williams a hopeless pinko, imagine the excitement such simple HONESTY would provide. Roger Aylse could do it in an instant, and aggressively gain new exciting power with this newly appreciated semantic HONESTY.

I posted a variation of this yesterday but it may bear repeating.

The slimes cites interviews with "local militia" who say that the video instigated the attack.

Both Al Quaeda and the local militia have had 15 months to watch the American coverage and response to the attack and they´ve made a decision about which narrative is most beneficial to themselves. They know that 0bama and Hillary are sympathetic to their cause so they´re spouting the WH/State Dept video talking points in an effort to insure further cash/support/arms coming their way. They know that if the truth is finally exposed there will be heavy repercussions for themselves as well as Hillary and 0bama.

The New York Times used to be a newspaper with journalists and reporters and the opinions were on the opinion page. Now they create fiction throughout the paper. They should put their own paper at the top of the ´best sellers/fiction´ list. Just another propaganda outlet for the Obama Administration. The joke is that THEY believe that their readers believe what they print. Their mottoe should be ´all the news that is MIS-fit to print´.

The Newd Dork Slimes within the past twenty years or more (could be fifty)...

If I had to find anything in the above with which I might quibble...
it would be to show proper respect for the parties, named or otherwise...
who are truly involved in this...

So allow MOI to review a smattering of the cast of NO-characters...
Hill-err-ee-ass Herself...
better known here as The Bloody Butch Butcher of Benghazi...
her CiC, more appropriately known as O-Bomber the NO-Bomber...
her titular hubby, the lying disbarred impeached rapist Billyboobboob Klintoon...
and assorted other losers...
a leftover Rice...
a vice-presidunce...
the list goes on.

Time to rid ourselves of this bunch.
And time to replace The Newd Dork Slimes with something actually
"Fit to Read" for real Americans.

Instead all we get from NYT is...
All the Lies that Fit the Narrative we want you to Swallow this time...

I remember in the early 60´s when my father somehow had access to current and back issues of Pravda, he showed me how the Soviets predictions of the successes of a 5 year plan were changed 5 years later so that it would match the results of the once again failed plan. Most of the Soviet citizens were expected to forget their history. And I suspect mostly they didn´t have access to back issues. We laughed at how brazen they could be with their history changes. I firmly believe that history manipulation is now worse here than it ever was in the Soviet Union. And I´m starting to believe that it always was.

Gentlemanliness is, without a doubt, Britain´s most enduring export. For Evelyn Waugh, writing breathlessly to Nancy Mitford in 1956, it provided no less than an explanation for ‘all our national greatness´. But, although he spent his entire life in thrall to the concept, he never explained what he actually meant by it. He, like most of us, assumed that you simply knew a gentleman when you saw one. Other writers have only managed to come up with partial definitions. For George Bernard Shaw, a gentleman always ‘puts more into the world than he takes out´. Oscar Wilde thought that a gentleman

Good news: thanks to a ruling by the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals Monday, the "most transparent administration in history" is going to have to tell American citizens when it believes it´s legally entitled to kill them. The lawsuit arose out of Freedom of Information Act requests by two New York Times reporters for Office of Legal Counsel memoranda exploring the circumstances under which it would be legal for U.S. personnel to target American citizens. SUMMERVILLE, S.C. — Sen. Lindsey Graham recognized the threat years before it had a chance to form — and knew immediately what he had to do. After the tea party wave in the 2010 election, right-wing groups were itching to get one of South Carolina’s newly elected conservative congressmen to challenge Graham, the blunt-spoken, deal-making congressional veteran of two decades. Rep. Mick Mulvaney, a favorite of the grass roots, was high on their list. If you have student loans, chances are you wish there was a way to make them disappear. And in a way, there is: The federal government now offers three repayment plans that lower monthly payments and will—eventually—forgive remaining debt. A separate plan forgives loans for people who take certain public-service jobs. Some of these options, however, are so new that nobody knows how well they´ll serve borrowers. Even when it comes to well-established repayment plans, many students don´t truly understand their options. The Democratic Party’s obsession with income inequality and “the one percent” is factually misguided, science has found. Over the weekend, leading academic professor Mark R. It turns out that, according to scientific data, the Left’s horror stories about a rigid class structure in the United States fueled by nefarious, wealth-hoarding one-percenters is false. “The picture drawn of the 1 percent has been that of a static population, just as the 99 percent is often portrayed as unchanging,” Rank writes. “There is a line drawn between

You can often tell when advocates of one side in an argument fear they will ultimately lose. They change their branding. A few years ago, warnings about “global warming” were replaced with scare stories about “climate change.” One reason? The Earth had stopped appreciably warming in the late 1990s, making the change a PR necessity. Supporters of affirmative action are now signaling similar weakness. What was called “racial quotas” in the 1970s and has been referred to as “affirmative action” since the 1990s is giving way to a new term: “race-sensitive admission policies.” The language shift is telling — race-based preferences

The attempts of defenders of Obamacare to rouse the American people in favor of the doomed monstrosity have become more desperate and bizarre. The most recent example is taking place in Florida, where the sudden death of a young uninsured woman is being cited as an indictment of the Republican-controlled state legislature for refusing to approve the Medicaid expansion so generously being offered by the feds. If the woman in question had access to federally-mandated Medicaid, they argue, she would of course have gone in for preventative screening which would have revealed her cardiac abnormality and somehow saved her life.

The Citizens Commission on Benghazi, a self-selected group of former top military officers, CIA insiders and think-tankers, declared Tuesday in Washington that a seven-month review of the deadly 2012 terrorist attack has determined that it could have been prevented – if the U.S. hadn´t been helping to arm al-Qaeda militias throughout Libya a year earlier. ´The United States switched sides in the war on terror with what we did in Libya, knowingly facilitating the provision of weapons to known al-Qaeda militias and figures,´ Clare Lopez, a member of the commission and a former CIA officer, told MailOnline. She blamed the Obama administration

Public Trust: Sixty-one percent polled say President Obama lies "some of the time" or "most of the time" on matters of national importance. Americans have to ask: Why do we let him get away with it? It´s no surprise that a Fox News poll of 1,012 registered voters last week found immense distrust of a president whose main domestic initiative was based on a lie. The shock is that the same poll found his disapproval level down to its lowest since last fall. Asked, "How often do you think Barack Obama lies to the country on important matters?" 37% replied "most of

The Obama administration is poised to entertain a flood of new clemency applications from thousands of federal prisoners who were given harsh sentences under mandatory-minimum laws following drug convictions, Attorney General Eric Holder said Monday. Holder said in a short videotaped statement that he wants to shrink the federal prison population by a modest amount while ensuring ´that those who have paid their debts have a chance to become productive citizens.´ At the center of the move is a set of old sentencing rules that punished crack-cocaine offenders with more time behind bars than users or traffickers of powder cocaine.

Former Sen. Bob Dole (R-Kan.) said a number of junior GOP senators considering a presidential run in 2016 do not yet have the experience — specifically naming Rand Paul (Ky.), Marco Rubio (Fla.) and Ted Cruz (Texas). The former 1996 GOP presidential candidate sounded particularly skeptical of Cruz in an interview this week with The Wichita Eagle. "A number of the younger members, first-termers like Rand Paul, Rubio and that extreme-right-wing guy, Ted Cruz — all running for president now. I don´t think they´ve got enough experience yet," Dole said. The 90-year-old former senator said, however, his main concern about 2016 is living

If Jeb reaches for the nomination, there will be a titanic battle between the party establishment and the Tea Party. Steve Schmidt, McCain’s strategist in 2008, insists that in the end Republicans usually settle on the most electable candidate. To get by, this Bush may be forced to trim his positions, although the cautionary tale of Romney suggests that he would have to tack artfully and carefully for the sake of the general election. Certainly he will have the resources to outlast, discredit, and disqualify his rivals.

Washington - Michelle Obama said "splurging is the key to life" if you regularly eat right and stay active. Her biggest guilty pleasure: French fries. "How would you appreciate vegetables if you never had chocolate?" she asked. "You couldn´t live without a little chocolate, a little French fries." The first lady took questions from children reporters Monday after appearing at the White House Easter Egg Roll. She told the children that if they eat right the majority of the time, then a splurge or snack is not going to hurt them. "I still splurge when I can, but that's why I try to exercise almost every day," she said.

There’s a pattern of falsifying statistics throughout the entire Census Bureau. And anyone who attempts to blow the whistle on the fraud is either retaliated against or ignored, according to two new sources who have experienced the process firsthand. As I’ve been writing for more than six months, the Census Bureau office in Philadelphia uncovered a case of fraud in 2010, did nothing about it and allowed the practice to continue. In that instance, a data collector named Julius Buckmon was faking reports that went into the nation’s all-important jobless tally and consumer-inflation survey. Because the Census Bureau’s surveys are scientific — meaning

New audio reveals an Eastern Connecticut State University professor warning that Republicans will “want things to go back — not to to 1955, but to 1855? if they win control of Congress in November. Republican victories could also put him out of a job, he cautioned. “We will live in a very, very, very different kind of country if that happens,” Professor Brent Terry told students in his Introduction to Creative Writing course, according to audio obtained by Campus Reform. “I mean, colleges will start closing up if these people have their way.” Over the course of his rant, Terry characterized conservatives

Global sea levels have risen by 8 inches (20cm) since 1880 and scientists predict they could rise up to 3ft (98cm) by 2100. But despite the UN’s recent threats of war, famine and extreme weather, such a dramatically different world caused by sea level rise can be hard to imagine. To help picture the future, Martin Vargic, an amateur graphic designer from Slovakia, has created a map depicting the planet with sea levels around 260ft (79m) higher than they are today. He imagines what Earth would look like if the ice sheets surrounding the North and South poles melted, releasing

It may not be tomorrow, but Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) says "something will happen" to force a Nevada rancher to obey a court order to stop grazing his cattle on federal land and pay his grazing fees. "It´s obvious that you can´t just walk away from this," Reid said in an April 18 interview with a Nevada´s KSNV-TV News 3 program “What’s Your Point?” "You can´t have a law that is -- we´re a nation of laws, not of men and women," he said. Thirty-eight Republican lawmakers, including such unlikely bedfellows as John McCain of Arizona and Ted Cruz of Texas, have joined to support a lawsuit challenging the legality of the Affordable Care Act and accusing the president of repeatedly ignoring the law he signed for political reasons. The lawmakers have signed onto a legal brief in support of a lawsuit filed by Sen. Ron Johnson, the Wisconsin Republican who is asking a federal court to overturn Obamacare’s special treatment for members of Congress and their staffs. “The unlawful executive action at issue in this case is not an isolated incident,” the brief

Today is Earth Day. Fox News’ The Five opened its show with a nearly 15 minute segment titled “Earth Day Hysteria.” The goal appeared to be to prove that scientists’ warnings about climate change are overblown and should be ignored if not outright mocked and co-host Eric Bolling was the ringleader of the effort. But he found an adversary in Bob Beckel, who challenged the status quo by presenting actual data on the rise of CO2 levels from NASA, of all places. But before Beckel got to his chart, Bolling took some time to “praise” President Barack Obama for what
