A former Minneapolis, Minnesota mayoral candidate was mercilessly beaten up by two teenage girls after having his cellphone stolen at a Mall of America Starbucks. Mark Andrew came in second to Betsy Hodges in the most competitive mayoral race Minneapolis has seen in a generation. The former Hennepin County Commissioner had just hung up the phone and was in the middle of writing his New Year´s resolutions Thursday evening when a young man came up and swiped his iPhone 4S off the cafe table. ´I was targeted because the phone was out and I´m 63 years old, and I´m sure

Hardcore white lefty receives a solid beat-down at the hands of black girls wielding an Assault Billy Club who knew, instinctively, that he was "easy pickins."

Chickens coming home to roost, with white liberals hardest-hit by the anti-gun laws they so cherish.

Oh well, that´s just the way it is in the era of Obama. Just about everybody is considered easy pickins´ from the top on down. His only hope is that the police can find his i-phone by way of installed software or that it can be locked and made useless.

Can you imagine teaching school where these cretins are enrolled and attending? These kinds of girls populated the student body in one of the schools where I taught in Michigan. Many of them spent most of their days in either the Principal´s office or in the Counselor´s office. You know they have to be kept in school at all costs - no matter how much of a disturbance they are.

Actually, if they aren´t in one of the offices, they are in Special Ed where they can color and listen to music while they do basic math and learn to spell words like cat, dog, rat, baby, girl, boy, etc. I do think these kinds of people are getting more rabid now than when I taught school.

Thank you #11 for the tip on carrying a cane.

I see I had no trouble convincing anyone of my cane suggestion, so let me amplify it. Many many years ago, eking out my college education as a security guard, I took a baton training course from my employers and learned the power of a short stick. Pushing sixty with bad knees, I made sure the cane I bought was strong hickory with hand grips up and down its length and a sharpened "horn" (the end of the crook). Anyone who will make that for you probably also supplies a brochure on the appropriate self-defense moves, which in truth you can master in twenty minutes, there are only a few good ones. They´re still very powerful, because for one thing, your adversary is very unlikely to expect them. Good luck to all. It´s a wonderful world, all told, but never forget it´s also a jungle.

No, sorry, that´s not the way the world works. People need to be responsible for their own security wherever they are. Waiting for the police, or for someone from the crowd to help is not going to do it.

The first step is likely to move yourself and your family out of the state that refuses to allow you to defend yourself.

Get yourself, your wife, and your kids some quality firearms training, and go about armed.

The index and middle finger, when spread, equal the approximate distance between the two human eyeballs.

Should one find one´s self without any handy weapons it is good to remember that an assailant who has just been blinded with the afore mentioned digits penetrating rather painfully into his cranial cavity may be too pre-occupied to continue any further assault.

All it takes is guts and a will to survive....and prevail.

Actually #19, there was an independent candidate that ran who was very good and was actually a republican ( but couldn´t call himself that in Minneapolis and have any chance at getting elected).

Mark Andrew is part of the democrat elite that keeps shoveling money into pro sports stadiums and other programs that has local taxes going through the roof. A county commissioner was also mugged in his own driveway a few years back..... So....karma I guess....

I don´t have a cane because I don´t need one, although I could see how it would be an effective defense weapon. I do, however, have my friend "Parker" in my vehicle. Parker is a "Parker" brand hydraulic hose which is reinforced with steel mesh.

Because if incidents like this I had commented to my husband that I should have a hammer or club or something to defend myself if I were attacked in my vehicle. He makes/sells hydraulic hoses, among other things. He brought me home a chunk about 20 inches long. I wouldn´t want to be hit with it, that´s for sure.

If the Rev. John DeBonville could preach a sermon to lift the souls of churchgoers across America, his message would be simple: Stop dressing so tacky for church. DeBonville has heard about the “come as you are” approach to dressing down for Sunday service, but he says the Sabbath is getting too sloppy. When he scans the pews of churches, DeBonville sees rows of people dressed in their Sunday worst. They saunter into church in baggy shorts, flip-flop sandals, tennis shoes and grubby T-shirts. Some even slide into the pews carrying coffee in plastic foam containers as if they’re going to Starbucks. “It’s like

President Obama asserts that 8 million people have signed up for Obamacare, as though that were something to be proud of. In fact, Obamacare has always been a fiasco from a fiscal perspective–a black hole of subsidies and expanded Medicaid, with largely fictitious mechanisms in place to pay for it. As the number of subsidized participants grows, the disaster gets worse. Charles Blahous explains: Our national discussion…is missing the truly significant story here; what is unfolding before our eyes is a colossal fiscal disaster, poised to haunt legislators and taxpayers for decades to come. It is quite possible that the ACA is

In an op-ed published in the Boston Globe on Easter Sunday and posted on the State Department website, Secretary of State John Kerry recalled his days as an altar boy and pointed out that he is “the first Catholic Secretary of State in 33 years.” Alexander Haig, who served as secretary of state to President Ronald Reagan from January 1981 to July 1982, was also a Catholic. Last month, I traveled to Rome with President Obama, where I was honored to meet His Holiness Pope Francis,” said Kerry. “As an altar boy six decades ago, I never imagined that I

“On the third day, he rose again.” That line, from the Nicene Creed, is a foundational statement of Christian belief. It declares that three days after Jesus died on the cross, he was resurrected, a glimmer of the eternal life promised to believers. It’s the heart of the Easter story in seven little words. But how that statement is interpreted is the source of some of the deepest rifts in Christianity — and a stumbling block for some Christians, and more than a few skeptics. Did Jesus literally come back from the dead in a bodily resurrection, as many traditionalist

It’s time for Western states to take control of federal lands within their borders, lawmakers and county commissioners from Western states said at Utah’s Capitol on Friday. More than 50 political leaders from nine states convened for the first time to talk about their joint goal: wresting control of oil-, timber -and mineral-rich lands away from the feds. "It’s simply time," said Rep. Ken Ivory, R-West Jordan, who organized the Legislative Summit on the Transfer for Public Lands along with Montana state Sen. Jennifer Fielder. "The urgency is now." Utah House Speaker Becky Lockhart, R-Provo, was flanked by a dozen participants, including

If expanding the guest list to include Michelle Obama at graduation for high school students in the Kansas capital city means fewer seats for friends and family, some students and their parents would prefer the first lady not attend. A furor over what the Topeka school district considers an honor has erupted after plans were announced for Obama to address a combined graduation ceremony for five area high schools next month an 8,000-seat arena. For some, it was the prospect of a tight limit on the number of seats allotted to each graduate. For others, it was the notion that Obama´s speech,

New York Times columnist David Brooks said Sunday that he believes President Obama’s foreign policy isn’t “tough enough” and that he has a “manhood problem” when it comes to dealing with leaders such as Russian President Vladimir Putin and Syrian President Bashar Assad. Mr. Brooks expanded on Sen. Bob Corker’s earlier comments on “Fox News Sunday” that Mr. Obama is “creating an air of permissiveness” with regards to Russia. (Snip) “And let’s face it, Obama, whether deservedly or not, does have a — I’ll say it crudely — but a manhood problem in the Middle East,” he continued.
