NY Times Ready to Cover Chris
Christie Exactly How They Covered
Mitt Romney: Badly

If you thought the political press was taking stock of its 2012 election year coverage of Mitt Romney’s campaign and was preparing to make some course corrections in order to ensure fairer coverage of the GOP candidates ahead of 2016, you would be mistaken. Indeed, the New York Times appears to view 2012 not as an aberration but as a model for how to cover future Republican presidential campaigns. The first indication that the Times is gearing up to make a Mitt Romney out of Chris Christie came in early December as “bridge-gate,” the allegation that New Jersey’s governor sought

That´s fine. Let the NYT spend the next couple of years tearing Christie apart. While they´re busy with him, the Conservative/Tea Party wing can slip a really good constitutionalist under the radar. Works for me and as Mikkins would say, "Got Tea???"

Much as I dislike Christie and do not wish to see him on the Republican ticket in 2016, I hate the NYT.
Perhaps Christie is sufficiently popular and outspoken enough to put NYT in its place, and take them down a few pegs.
In which case, I will applaud him. I still don´t want to vote for him, but given the choice between Democrat Christie and Socialist Hillary, I may have to hold my nose while I pull the lever.

After holding my nose and pulling the lever for McCain and Romney, I´m done with that. The GOP machine will continue to nominate "moderates" as long as they know we will dutifully hold our noses and pull the lever. To paraphrase Hillary, if the choice is a RINO vs. Hillary, what difference does it make?

This is not meant to sound disrespectful, but unless Christie would lose 60-80 pounds, he´d never get past the primary. People are not going to vote for someone who look like they could keel over from climbing the Capitol steps.

Listen directly to the politicians and form your own opinions. Do not bother listening to lefty political journolists.

Christie would be my last choice for president. This country does not need a big government moderate.

The liberal media organizations will do what they always have done in the past. Between now and the end of the Republican primaries they will build up the most moderate Republican candidates at every turn, then if one of those moderates wins the Republican primary, the liberal media will turn on that candidate and grind him or her into the dirt before the general election. Just as they softened Romney up by trashing his personal and professional reputations using false or fraudulent liberal Democrat talking points, up to where he had no chance to win on election day. While at the same time the Republicans will be paying those liberal media organizations close to a billion dollars for television commercial time and to run the televised national debates, thus feeding the fox who is out to destroy them. The liberal Democrats set up that system over many years and the wimpy Republicans walk into the liberal media trap every time.

First of all, I´m not sure the Dems want to "sink" Christie. He may be the one they want. Anyway, I´m curious to see who the ruling establishment, which includes the NYT, allows the Republicans to run this time around. At this point it looks like Cristie or Jeb Bush. Someone like Reagan will never again be allowed to even get close. If Cruz, Rand Paul or someone like them is allowed to get the nomination you can be sure they already have him or her destroyed.

Or they can always pull the Ross Perot/Bill Clinton gambit and run a third party to dilute the vote. Elections in this country have reached the point where they are practically a waste of time.

Someone very astute on this site (gee, I think it was me!) has been saying for a long time that the media will pick the GOP nominee.

And on a related note, does it really matter?

The country is in dark times and NO ONE we send to DC will be the one to fix it.

From now on I´m only voting local elections. I will not vote to send anyone to Washington. It is futile to do so and to expect much different from what we have.

All Republican candidates who are worth anything will be ousted by the Republican party anyway. We all know and expect what the MSM is going to do but the old fossils of the GOP will resort to tactics just as dirty to protect their turf. One thing the democrats have going for them, they are equally corrupt so they find it easier to get their candidates into office. A superb candidate like Ted Cruz will have to work twice as hard to get there.

Part II: I did not spend the requisite number of years in the classroom to earn a doctorate in psychology but the fact that Christie is so far overweight indicates mental problems that have manifested themselves as a physical problem. There is nothing wrong with voting for a moderate republican. Once in office, he can do whatever. Making promises and then breaking them didn´t seem to hurt Obama. Being moderate during the primaries will bring in more voters. If you far right, then just hold your nose as you pull the lever. A moderate republican in office beats the heck out of the alternative.

The Slimes and other media outlets of the same ilk are already starting their selection process for their preferred 2016 Presidential election candidates.

The candidates they select are always liberal, most likely live on the Eastern seaboard, and must look like someone from a mobster movie or have personal defects.

Both of these people have had love fests with our current dunce and all three probably have dirt on each other. I´m sorry, I just don´t like Eastern candidates. All should come packaged with warning labels that you see on dangerous items you might buy like cigarettes or other harmful products.

The Times has a history of bad behavior in promoting candidates. Funny, they all are liberals to the core.

When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

Look, everyone loves Sean Connery, particularly Sean Connery. That’s why he plays Sean Connery in every movie he’s in. People love that Scottish brogue so much, they don’t mind that he has it when he plays Juan Sánchez Villa-Lobos Ramírez, an immortal Spaniard in Highlander. The guy even won an Oscar for playing an Irish cop with a Scottish accent. Talk about sexist double standards: Meryl Streep has to master foreign dialects to get her golden statuettes. Connery just has to show up on time. In economics you devalue a currency by printing too much of it. In film you

Democratic Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren wrote in her forthcoming book that she was “hurt” and “angry” by 2012 reporting on her fraudulent claim to Native American heritage. “What really threw me, though, were the constant attacks from the other side,” Warren wrote in her book “A Fighting Chance.” “I would almost persuade myself that I was starting to get the hang of full-throttle campaigning and then — bam! Out of left field, the state Republican Party, or the Brown campaign, or some blogger, would launch a rocket at me,” Warren wrote, adding, ”I was stunned by the attacks.” This reporter (blogger?) reported extensively

WASHINGTON — Former President Jimmy Carter joined fellow Nobel laureates Wednesday in opposing Keystone XL, insisting that approving the pipeline would trigger “more climate upheaval” around the globe. In an open letter to President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry, Carter and the nine other Nobel Peace Prize winners bluntly warned the leaders: “Your decision on the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline will define your climate legacy.” The missive, published as an advertisement in Politico, represents the first time Carter has taken a position on the $5.4 billion project and makes him the first former president to come

With Easter soon approaching, the Rev. Al Sharpton on Wednesday drew parallels between the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the resurrection of President Obama’s political career. Joining the “Tom Joyner Morning Show,” Mr. Sharpton said that his message for this Easter is that “no matter what the world may do to you unfairly, no matter how you’re crucified — nailed to the cross at home, or in your personal relationships, or on the job — that you can rise if you don’t lose yourself during the hard times and the challenges.” The reverend went on to say that Christ endured so much humiliation and unearned suffering leading up to his death,

FORT WORTH — Democratic gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis will undergo neck surgery today, her campaign said Tuesday. “After experiencing shoulder and right arm pain in recent weeks, Sen. Davis will have a routine surgical procedure to remove bone spurs and degenerative discs that are creating compression on the nerves in her neck,” campaign spokesman Zac Petkanas said in a statement Tuesday. “This is a common issue experienced by runners and endurance athletes,” he said. Davis, of Fort Worth, will undergo the outpatient surgery at the Fort Worth Brain and Spine Institute. Dr. Thomas Ellis will perform the

The cash infusion by the federal government is actually going to help the city pay pensions, even though they´re playing a kind of shell game with the money. As for "blight removal," perhaps they could start with city hall. Reuters: Michigan officials and President Barack Obama´s Administration are discussing a plan to free up $100 million in federal money to aid Detroit´s retired city workers, the Detroit Free Press reported on Tuesday. Citing two people familiar with the talks, the newspaper said the talks were centered around federal money flowing to Michigan for blight removal. Under the plan, $100 million

Climate change’s latest casualty appears to be fish — or more specifically, fish brains — as researchers say the carbon dioxide that’s being absorbed into the ocean is causing the scaly creatures to lose their survival instincts. In other words, the fish are losing their minds, The Daily Mail reported. The acid from atmospheric carbon dioxide seeps into sea waters, dissolves and ultimately lowers the pH balance, researchers said. The acidic waters then hamper the fishes’ sensory systems, so they’re not able to distinguish between smells any longer, the scientists went on. When the acid levels get really high, the fish lose their
