After a brief suspension following his remarks in GQ magazine, Phil Robertson will return to the “Duck Dynasty” show in 2014, A&E announced Friday. “After discussions with the Robertson family, as well as consulting with numerous advocacy groups, A&E has decided to resume filming Duck Dynasty later this spring with the entire Robertson family,” the network said in a statement. “We at A+E Networks expressed our disappointment with his statements in the article, and reiterate that they are not views we hold. But Duck Dynasty is not a show about one man’s views. It resonates with a large audience because

The Hollywood Reporter article on this has some rich comments from A&E about how they´re going to be running tolerance public service announcements on all their shows. Any bets on how many of those will be about religious tolerance?

Personally, I wouldn´t be surprised if the family sees out their contract and then tells A&E where to put their money. The network needs them far more than the Robertsons need A&E.

If these twits and A & E had any principles, then they would not have Robertson back. No, it’s about the dollar signs.

Laughably, they want to make this a ‘teachable moment’. Heck with you guys. We don’t need your teachings, or your advocacy, or your tolerance messages. if you were really tolerant, you would tolerate a guy who things homosexuality is a sin, which happens to be in the Bible. If you had any principles, if this guy goes against what you believe in, he should have stayed fired.

And as iowahawk and others have mentioned, don´t think GLAAD (and prolly ReverenDDD JacksoNNN) didn´t get any $$$ out of this, either.

Happy Birthday, Abe! The 16th president of the United States would have turned 205 years old today. During that time he led the United States through the Civil War, preserved the Union and abolished slavery. The son of a Kentucky frontiersman, Lincoln was born in a one-room log cabin on the Sinking Spring Farm in Hardin County. It´s no surprise that Barack Obama´s authoritarian streak is revealing itself at last. It was always there; clearly apparent in his rhetoric (e.g., his envy of Chinese president Xi Jin-ping´s powers), his abuse of executive orders, his threats against Congress, his sultan with fly-whisk attitudes toward his opposition, and even his vacations, which reek more of third-world trash gamboling on the Riviera than any American leader (George W. Bush settled his mind by clearing brush in Texas, Reagan at his ranch in Santa Barbara. Obama unfortunately finds the brush already cleared in Martha´s Vineyard and Hawaii.)

Powerful winds in the Pacific Ocean, which have driven surface heat deep underwater, could be the reason behind the current ‘pause’ in global warming. This is according to a joint Australian and U.S. study which has looked at why there has been a slowdown in the planet’s global average surface temperature over the past decade. Their research shows that trade winds in central and eastern parts of the Pacific have caused warm surface water to sink to the ocean´s depths, reducing the amount of heat in the atmosphere. Last year, scientists on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) said the pace of
