Who are the real haters in the
´Duck Dynasty´ controversy?

Washington Examiner [DC], by Noemie Emery

Original Article

There’s a fine line between love and hate, but even a finer one between genuine hatred, as seen in David Duke and Bull Connor, which really is toxic, and the kind ginned up to delegitimize arguments by making it seem toxic when it is at worst just controversial. It was Al Gore in 1999 who first played the Duck Card, telling a group of black ministers that conservatives who used the words ‘color blind’ were really like hunters in duck blinds, lulling black voters into states of non-vigilance to mow them down quickly once they took flight. The issue du jour

It´s rather easy to answer the question posed by the title. It´s that same liberal bunch that preaches tolerance and proves with every opportunity that they don´t have any.

The Robertsons scare liberals to death. They don´t apologize and they have lots of money. I think when a "duck" backed candidate recently won an election in Louisiana, all the politicians and PAC folks were terrified they´d lost control of who gets to be in politics. They still, after all these years, have no idea who most of us are. If we aren´t a liberal living on the east or west coast, then we´re ignorant hicks who need to be told what to say, what to eat, what to weigh, etc.

You can tell the Robertson family directly, without going through A&E, how you view this controversy and what you think of them.

http://duckcommander.com/contact-us

There´s a "Fan Mail" link if you are so inclined to use it. I did.

True, he grouped gay sex with bestiality as an unsavory practice, but he also linked both to male/female adultery,... but then said it wasn’t his business to judge them and left it to God to sort it all out.

Biblically speaking, old Phil is dead right: In God´s eyes, homosexuality, bestiality, adultery, murder, anger, and all the ten commandments are no different from one another. If you have broken one of God´s laws, you may as well have broken all of them because God doesn´t make distinctions on the KIND of sin one commits. He only adjudicates on the fact that you HAVE sinned.

Historically, God has chosen serious sinners to do His greatest work. Unlikely people like Moses (a murderer), David (an adulterer and murderer), Paul (a murderer and persecutor of the church (Jesus´ followers), have been chosen to spread the Gospel after God changed their hearts. However, they, like all of us, remained sinners except that now, their lives were no longer characterized by sin as they once were.

Old Phil may have been a tad crude in how he explained it but he´s not a professional. I cut him slack mainly because he told the truth, biblically speaking.

#3 has given one of the best explanations for sin and God´s putting it to use that I have ever read. Yet, at the same time as God uses our sins to work for His purposes, we have reassurance that God forgives even our sins when our hearts are changed. Thank you #3 - this sinner really appreciates your words.

Add that to the Tea Party, to all the other great groups emerging in opposition against the Obama communist

the Obama Clinton Jaret Soros Sawyer Pelley "haters", the propagandists of the evil axis of totalitarian dictator destruction!

Well I agree with her conclusion--I have long said there is no one more mean-spirited than a doctrinaire liberal. But overall, not one of her best articles. I can think of other reasons to be against homosexual marriage than the two she listed: For example, maybe one is just a doctrinaire Darwinist who recognizes homosexuality as a species-destructive aberration that doesn´t need to be encouraged. Or one could recognize that the traditional male-female relationship is the optimal family structure upon which the optimal social structure should be based, with no reference to the Bible. Noemie´s article unfortunately presents the kind of Manichean thinking that the liberal hate-mongers excel at.

I totally agree with 3 and 4.
As I have stated here before, Phil´s words were not crude. He merely used the correct words to describe parts of the human body, those same ones being taught to school children. The man is decent, principled and Godly, not crude.

On a side note, I read where the Chamber of Commerce is going to spend millions of dollars against the Tea Party. Any of us who are members, unjoin immediately and tell them exactly why. Politics and personal beliefs are at war with one another.

FTA: "...he grouped gay sex with bestiality as an unsavory practice,...". I think the interviewer was asking Phil Robertson for examples of sins, not "unsavory practices", and Mr.Robertson listed homosexuality along with other practices that he considered sins. He wasn´t highlighting any of the sins.

I know people who do not believe that the devil exists. He´s just a joke who wears a funny red costume with forked tail and horns, and he´s someone that someone once "sold their soul to". I think many people feel the same way about the concept of sin; "it just ain´t happenin´ - maybe for thee but not for me". And, maybe, that might be part of the whole controversy as well. How can you speak about sins when the other person think what you are talking about is nonexistent or nutty (take your pick).

Heard someone say that it´s important not to deny the devil´s existence but you shouldn´t go to the other extreme and think and talk about the devil all the time.

No one hates homosexuality or homosexuals and on the other side, I think we should not have to think and talk about it all the time.

It strikes me that the "hit dog always hollers". I have seen that homosexuals make up about two percent of the total population. Yet, when they are "offended" they scream louder than the other 98%. I think they realize that they are deviants and are not behaving as God intended them to. They are over-sensitive to anyone shining a light on them and must shout down those that are holding the light. Somewhere deep inside they are ashamed of themselves.

Many of the homos I have known were very petty, very self-absorbed and seemed to hate themselves. What they re doing is not right, they know it and when faced with the facts they must blast the detractors to oblivion.

The bill was fully paid for and would introduce reforms to the program including ending payments to wealthy individuals and giving more individualized

What could Vladimir Putin’s seizure of Crimea possibly have to do with the upcoming midterm elections in the United States? Indirectly, a very great deal. But only indirectly. It has become the most conventional of conventional wisdoms that American voters have tired of controversies beyond our shores, like Crimea. They want to focus on problems at home, not to get involved in what a notable figure of the 1930s described in a different context as “a quarrel in a faraway country between people of whom we know nothing.” This opinion is supported by an undeniable sea-change in the nation’s attitude toward military

Now that she is on the Court, she’s being told she doesn’t belong there any more. I doubt she’s paying attention. These reflections are
