Most Jews Wish You a Merry Christmas
FrontPage Magazine, by Dennis Prager

Original Article

As a Jew, and a religious one at that, I want to wish my fellow Americans a Merry Christmas. Not “Happy Holidays.” Merry Christmas. I write, “my fellow Americans” because, as reported by the Pew Research poll released just last Wednesday, nine in 10 Americans say they celebrate Christmas. Apparently, many Americans have forgotten that Christmas is not only a Christian holy day, but also an American national holiday. Just as we wish one another a “Happy Thanksgiving” or a “Happy Fourth,” so, too, we should wish fellow Americans a “Merry Christmas.” It doesn’t matter with which religion or ethnic group you identify;

Comments:
I love this -- when he was growing up, his Orthodox Jewish family always watched the Christmas Mass at the Vatican on TV, unless it was the Sabbath when TV watching is not allowed.

What a wonderful article for this morning! How I wish that spirit would come across all America! My only reservation... I cannot accept those who call for death of "infidels" as religious, but as mafia. They cause me to have anxiety for
the world´s children.
Wishing all Ldotters a Merry Christmas and a Happier Year 2014, Saryden

One way in which the left has done this has been through “multiculturalism,” the left’s way of dividing Americans by religion, ethnicity, race, and national origins.

...while claiming they want really to unite people, not divide them. When multiculturalism became the sacrament of the Left, they formed an apartheid system of their own. People were not united in their common desires; they were separated according to their disparate ideologies.

Those who claim to be emotionally troubled by the sight of a nativity scene are not emotionally troubled by the sight of a nativity scene. They are emotionally troubled.

Why else would they object unless they were taught to? Remember the line in a song from "South Pacific"?

You´ve got to be taught
To hate and fear,
You´ve got to be taught
From year to year,
It´s got to be drummed
In your dear little ear
You´ve got to be carefully taught.

You´ve got to be taught to be afraid
Of people whose eyes are oddly made,
And people whose skin is a diff´rent shade,
You´ve got to be carefully taught.

You´ve got to be taught before it´s too late,
Before you are six or seven or eight,
To hate all the people your relatives hate,
You´ve got to be carefully taught!

And therein lies the tale of how we got to the resentment toward Christians in America, as well as all things traditional. Postmodernism has reared its hateful head but I sense a fork in the road, generated by the Duck Dynasty dust-up.

Hope springs eternal in Christ, but it also springs eternal in the American spirit.

I´ve been very happily surprised this Christmas season to have had a number of salespeople and restaurant people say "Merry Christmas." And have seen a number to be pleased when I say "Merry Christmas" to them! Maybe a little progress is occurring?

I re call reading that when a sweet young lib attempted to correct Rabbi Daniel Lapin´s "Merry Christmas" with a "Don´t you mean Happy Holiday´s" he replied "No, I mean Merry Christmas. It is their holiday, not mine.

Christmas is the only major holiday at this time of the year! Hanukkah is a minor Jewish holiday that grew in importance in modern times mostly to offset Christmas envy among Jewish children. Kwaazaa (Fraudzaa?) is a leftist attempt to replace Christmas in the mind of American Blacks. It
s "traditions" are as muddled as my wearing Tartan leiderhosen to celebrate my European traditions.

I was married to a Jew, and he loved Christmas. Loved to buy the tree and buy new ornaments every year. He was raised in a home where his Orthodox Jewish grandmother lived on the second floor, and she was so kind to this Irish-Catholic from the east coast, and I loved her. I went to their bar and bat mitzvahs and they came to our weddings. Most people get along with others until someone tells them that there is something wrong with that.

Dennis is a most wonderful person with religious sensibilities. In his earlier radio shows, he guested a variety of religious professionals, comparing and learning about their similarities and differences. He is a thoughtful and articulate conservative and libertarian.
Where this great teacher elegantly acknowledges all religions, he is soft on free market philosophers and economist, like Rothbard, Friedman, Hayek, Hazlitt and Von Mises, who are phenomenal problem solversfc
in these communist socialist agitating times.

The anti religious people he describes so beautifully, the kind that create disruption between our differences, are very same agitators like Al Sharpton, that agitate, inflame blacks versus whites. Agitators, right out of the Marxist, Leninist, Stalinist rule books, are fomenters and rabble rousers to provoke an otherwise open, peaceful, free world of exchange. There is an ugly culture of agitators foisting gay life and practices where it is not neded. All of Hollywood agitates to the evil business man, never describing how business innovators like a Bill Gates and Steve Jobs literally creat work and income for millions upon millions.
Yes, the mainstream or Marxist Media is always looking to agitate, to give the government mror ruling power.
Time to recognize the Reid Puglosi Feinstein Schumer Jaret Soros Jackson Sawyer Pelley Waxman Mahr Piers
Whoopi Letterman agitators for who they really are.
Dennis is an exemplary citizen.

When my elderly Catholic parents were too mobility-impaired to leave the house on their own, our Jewish friend Irv and Lillian took them to Christmas concerts.

Seems like a little thing, but you know what? Little acts of kindness last, in the telling, from generation to generation.

And then, when this life is done, they last forever in the glory of Our Dear Lord!

A most heartfelt ´thank you´ to all the kind and generous Jewish people who volunteered to take the places of Christians at their workplaces so that Christians could honor this holy day in their churches and with their loved ones.

At our hospital, Jewish professionals/friends quietly filled the places of Christian doctors, nurses, aides, cafeteria workers, and others.

Again, thank you - thank you all so very much.

The "war on women" political slogan is in fact a war against common sense. It is a statistical fraud when Barack Obama and other politicians say that women earn only 77 percent of what men earn -- and that this is because of discrimination. It would certainly be discrimination if women were doing the same work as men, for the same number of hours, with the same amount of training and experience, as well as other things being the same. But study after study, over the past several decades, has shown repeatedly that those things are not the same. Constantly repeating the "77

Rush Limbaugh and other conservatives have expressed bewilderment over CBS’s abandonment of the “American Heartland” by choosing Colbert to replace Letterman. Ed Driscoll has contrasted the pick with the Letterman and Leno succession battle. But the real lesson of that battle is that while Leno won on performance, beating Letterman in the ratings, Letterman won on image, retiring as an honored figure, despite his abusive behavior, while Leno was booed out the door.

Anthropologist Napoleon Chagnon’s heart was pounding in late November 1964 when he entered a remote Venezuelan village. He planned to spend more than a year studying the indigenous Yanomamo people, one of the last large groups in the world untouched by civilization. Based on his university training, the 26-year-old Chagnon expected to be greeted by 125 or so peaceful villagers, patiently waiting to be interviewed about their culture. Instead, he stumbled onto a scene where a dozen “burley, naked, sweaty, hideous men” confronted him and his guide with arrows drawn.

Many people explain low fertility rates in the West as a fruit of women finally having control over how many babies they have. But there´s evidence that the birth dearth is explained by a large portion of women not having as many babies as they want. Pew looks at surveys of European women near the end of their childbearing years and finds that while most have as many children as they want, about 30 percent have fewer than they would want. Only ten percent have more. In the U.S., 40 percent of women near the end of their childbearing years have fewer children

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. Some time back, whenever a big racial controversy erupted, I trained myself into the habit of reading about it at FoxNews.com, just for the unbelievable comment threads. Let’s put it this way: If my friends and I went out to a bar and started playing a “let’s write the racist FoxNews.com comment thread” drinking game, our efforts couldn’t begin to approach what I read there.I wasn’t alone. Liberal websites started feasting on these threads. And so, a couple of years ago, Ailes & Co. got wise. Stories about race were, at least in my disheartened experience, closed to comments.
