Amid Declining Popularity, The
Tea Party Prepares To Fight

National Public Radio, by Don Gonyea

Original Article

Posted By:Desert Fox, 12/24/2013 6:43:45 PM

It´s easy to forget that the tea party movement is still less than 5 years old. Its successes include the 2010 midterm elections, when it helped the GOP win back the U.S. House. It was once again a noisy and resurgent player in American politics in 2013. But that doesn´t mean it was a year of victories: The movement´s campaign to repeal Obamacare failed, and public approval hit near-record lows after the tea party forced a partial government shutdown. Even tea party events aren´t as large as they once were. Even so, the movement had a great influence on both the debate and on the direction of the Republican Party this year.

I think the libs can tell the RINOs that why they lost the 2014 mid-terms was because the Tea Party didn´t support them, not because they gave amnesty and citizenship to 20 million illegals.

Not many people polled and there´s a +/- 4% margin of error. Only 1,031 people polled.

Results for this Gallup poll are based on telephone interviews conducted Dec. 5-8, 2013, on the Gallup Daily tracking survey, with a random sample of 1,031 adults, aged 18 and older, living in all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia.

# 1 I have to disagree, the real effect (effectiveness?) of the tea party movement will be accessed in the primaries. The first task is to rid the congress of those who think their job is to pull to the left slower then the socialists.

Two things:

1) Do you know anyone who was in the Tea Party?

If not, your opinion is meaningless. If you do, then answer the following:

2) Of those people you knew who identified themselves in the Tea Party, how many do you know are now rejecting the Tea Party platforms?

That would be zero.

NPR lies.

Tea Party has yet to tabulate the results of the Obamacare/Pelosicare recruitment drive from Oct.1-Dec. 23,24,2x?? drive of 2013.

Democrats will claim before March 31, 2014, that poor results are the result of a Bush/Karl Rove/RNC plot and Machinations.

Only the Ministry of Truth/DNC media will give credit to Bush/Karl Rove/RNC for that much imagination and initiative.

Its meaningless to be honest. The media and the Washington D.C. Establishment of both parties has been holding funerals for the Tea Party since its inception. They gather around the coffin after every election cycle shocked and dismayed that no corpse can be found.

Even still, after the Ryan/Republican Establishment budget scam, I will bet these numbers look much different now and will continue to grow.

Oh, before I go...

How much was it that Ryan and the Republican Establishment cut from funding of NPR and PBS? I am sure they demanded they share the burden of having to endure cuts in funding along with military Veterans.

The Tea Party needs to schedule some very public rallies in Washington and in state capitals. Keep the message simple - - no Obamacare and no amnesty. That is our litmus test.

If the RINOs run candidates in the primaries against Tea Partiers, we need to let Karl Rove know that we will endorse the Democrat in the general election. Tough medicine, but necessary.

First we need to notify DC------repeal the fiasco known as obamacare.
Second - No amnesty to Illegal Aliens. Period! and,
Third - Do NOT allow obama to shove the TPP treaty through Senate to radify. We do not want our sovereignty given to the NEW World Order rule. Wikileaks was able to get one chapter of the 28 and put online--this will be more disastrous than obamacare. It will collapse what we have left of this country. obama´s flexibility agenda.

Hardly anybody on this board favors the establishment over tea party types and people on here are representative of almost the whole country. These crackpots can take public polls all they want but people are more dissatisfied with the status quo than ever. I´ll admit the media has greatly tarnished the tea party´s image but they rarely discuss what the stand for because there´s nothing outrageous about it.

Over half of young people want Obamacare repealed but they didn´t throw in with Cruz to make a difference,so now they´re stuck with Mr.Bronze as their buttboy.

First sentence - sorry, the Tea Party movement is older than the US. There have always been Americans who oppose confiscatory taxation, profligate spending, ruinous borrowing, and mindless, counterproductive, strangling regulation. For almost all of America´s first century, these people managed to build a rural agricultural country into the world´s most powerful economy and the freest place on earth.

Gov. Chris Christie, R-N.J., turned down the opportunity to bash the mainstream media on Friday, when interviewed by Fox News host Megyn Kelly. Kelly pointed out, during a part of the interview aired on Friday, that there was an unprecedented volume of negative media coverage surrounding the bridge controversy in New Jersey. In a way it´s the oddest bit of ObamaCare propaganda we´ve seen so far. Suddenly ObamaCare is a roaring success, happy days are here again and liberals are euphoric, or claim to be. Muslim moms and dads in Dearborn, Mich. are upset after students received flyers promoting an Easter Egg hunt at a local Presbyterian church. The parents say the egg hunt violates the U.S. Constitution. The Muslims told the Detroit Free-Press that they were concerned about the religious implications of Cherry Hill Presbyterian Church’s “Eggstravaganza!” They were also troubled by images of a bunny rabbit. “It really bothered my two kids,” parent Majed Moughni, told the newspaper. “My son was like, ‘Dad, I really don’t feel comfortable getting these flyers, telling me to go to church. I thought churches are not supposed

Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich will step down following uproar over his apparent opposition to gay marriage. In a statement released Thursday, Mozilla -- which makes the Firefox Web browser -- apologized for not reacting more quickly to the controversy surrounding Eich, who made a 2008 donation supporting California´s plan on gay marriage, The Guardian reports. "We know why people are hurt and angry, and they are right: it´s because we haven´t stayed true to ourselves," said Mozilla executive chairwoman Mitchell Baker in a statement. Last week, Eich attempted to dispel fears on whether he would support equality as the head

Earlier this week on Boston’s WRKO-AM’s The Howie Carr Show, conservative commentator Ann Coulter shocked some conservatives when she said she is making 2012 Republican nominee Mitt Romney her favorite for the 2016 Republican contest. Last month in an interview on CBS’s Face the Nation, Romney himself ruled out the possibility of a 2016 run and said he was instead focused on who to get behind in that contest. Coulter, however, wishes otherwise. “Well, don´t tell him but I´m planning on giving Mitt Romney a little more time to rest -- flying out, kidnapping him and depriving him of sleep, food and

A triumphant President Barack Obama declared Tuesday his signature medical insurance overhaul a success, saying it has made America´s health care system ´a lot better´ in a Rose Garden press conference. But buried in the 7.1 million enrollments he announced in a heavily staged appearance is a more unsettling reality. Numbers from a RAND Corporation study that has been kept under wraps suggest that barely 858,000 previously uninsured Americans – nowhere near 7.1 million – have paid for new policies and joined the ranks of the insured by Monday night.

A 54-year-old white man has been left barely clinging to life after he was brutally beaten by a group of black men when he got out of his car to check on a young black boy he accidentally hit. Steve Utash, from suburban Roseville, was beaten into a coma Wednesday by an angry mob in a poverty-stricken Detroit neighborhood after David Harris, 10, ran in front of his truck on a busy street, but police insist the incident was not racially motivated. The gang also stole his wallet before leaving him for dead. Utash is in extremely critical

A senior CIA official has died in an apparent suicide this week from injuries sustained after jumping off a building in northern Virginia, according to sources close to the CIA. CIA spokesman Christopher White confirmed the death and said the incident did not take place at CIA headquarters in McLean, Va. “We can confirm that there was an individual fatally injured at a facility where agency work is done,” White told the Washington Free Beacon. “He was rushed to a local area hospital where he subsequently died. Due to privacy reasons and out of respect for the family, we are not releasing

President Barack Obama contended that the government did not “make a hard sell” for Obamacare, despite his administration spending nearly $700 million to promote the law. “We didn’t make a hard sell,” Obama said in the Rose Garden on Tuesday, praising the 7.1 million sign ups for the Affordable Care Act. “We didn’t have billions of dollars of commercials like some critics did.” However, last July the Associated Press reported that Obamacare’s marketing campaign would cost at least $684 million. Taxpayer funding went to all 50 states in efforts to encourage people to enroll, including nearly $28 million for the

Attorney General Eric Holder disputed a Government Accountability Office report on his use of Justice Department airplanes for personal trips, saying it overstated the number of trips he took and failed to recognize that some trips were job-related. "My staff keeps telling me to take it easy, you know, well, this is one that gets me," Holder told Rep. Frank Wolf, R-Va., during a House Appropriations subcommittee hearing. "There was this notion that we´ve taken -- I think it was described as hundreds of personal trips. That was wrong. GAO counted flights, not round trips. And we looked at it
