U.S. will seek triggers to
reimpose sanctions on Iran: Rice

Honolulu - The United States and its allies will have ways to reimpose sanctions on Iran if the Islamic Republic is caught making bombs after striking a deal to freeze its nuclear program, national security adviser Susan Rice said on Sunday. In an interview on the CBS news program "60 Minutes," Rice rejected the idea that, once relaxed, the economic sanctions on Tehran would be hard to reinstate. Any United Nations Security Council resolution that enshrines a final nuclear deal with Iran - not the interim six-month deal signed in Geneva in November - could have triggers to automatically reimpose sanctions on Iran if they violate the

Comments:
In case you are not following this, Kerry had our sanctions "relaxed" (whatever that means), and gave them Billions to stop before the deal was done. Now, Rice is saying, because 0bama is conveniently hidden away on his fifth vacation this year, that if the Iranians continue to shun US, we´ll pout and hold our breath till they quit acting like the aggressors they are (terrorist, for those in Loma Linda). This is the dRATS idea of putting a condom on after sex as birth control.

Obama secretly decided to ignore the sanctions on Iran in order to get them to the negotiating table. Then he let them have some of the frozen funds and further reduced sanctions. Now he threatening to reimpose sanctions again if they cross another imaginary and moving line. Of course, reimposing sanctions will require lots of approvals and take years.

Heartbleed bug affects gadgets everywhere

New York - The Internet bug Heartbleed doesn´t just affect websites. It also has shown up in the gadgets we use to connect to the Internet. Tech giants Cisco and Juniper have identified about two dozen networking devices affected by Heartbleed, including servers, routers, switches, phones and video cameras used by small and large businesses everywhere. (Snip) That means for two years now, someone could have been able to tap your phone calls and voicemails at work, all your emails and entire sessions at your computer or iPhone. You also could have been compromised if you logged into work from home remotely.

The NSA is disavowing its knowledge of the Heartbleed security vulnerability after a Bloomberg report suggested that the spy agency had exploited it for at least two years. “NSA was not aware of the recently identified vulnerability in OpenSSL, the so-called Heartbleed vulnerability, until it was made public in a private-sector cybersecurity report," NSA spokesperson Vanee Vines told The Post. "Reports that say otherwise are wrong.” The White House and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence echoed that statement Friday, saying neither the NSA nor any other part of the U.S. government knew about Heartbleed

The U.S. National Security Agency knew for at least two years about a flaw in the way that many websites send sensitive information, now dubbed the Heartbleed bug, and regularly used it to gather critical intelligence, two people familiar with the matter said. The NSA’s decision to keep the bug secret in pursuit of national security interests threatens to renew the rancorous debate over the role of the government’s top computer experts. Heartbleed appears to be one of the biggest glitches in the Internet’s history, a flaw in the basic security of as many as two-thirds of the world’s websites. Its discovery and the creation of a fix

Perth, Australia - Australia’s prime minister says searchers hunting for the missing Malaysian jetliner are confident underwater signals that have been picked up are coming from the jet’s black box. Tony Abbott told reporters while on an official visit to China that Australian authorities are confident they know the location of the black box from the plane that disappeared without a trace on March 8 during a flight from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to Beijing. The plane’s black boxes, or flight data and cockpit voice recorders, could help solve the mystery of why Flight 370 veered so far off course.

If you really want to appreciate the good work that House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan and the House Republicans did Thursday in passing their budget, consider the Pencil Story. A friend of mine teaches a class that includes a lot of children from families caught up in the government welfare system, a system that encourages dependency and discourages self-reliance. She told me that the students sometimes come to class on test day without even bringing a pencil. Without a pencil, the kids face getting a zero on the test, but that, my teacher-friend said, was the point. Because they know the public schools will push them along

Following the massacre of grammar-school children in Newtown, Conn., in December 2012, high-powered weapons have been used to kill innocent victims in more senseless public incidents. Those killings, however, are only a fragment of the total harm caused by the misuse of firearms. Each year, more than 30,000 people die in the United States in firearm-related incidents. Many of those deaths involve handguns. The adoption of rules that will lessen the number of those incidents should be a matter of primary concern to both federal and state legislators.
