If A&E decides to ax "Duck Dynasty" at least two other networks are eager to snap up the hugely popular reality show according to TMZ. Merrill Sport, owner of the Christian-affiliated Hunt Channel told the website that he´d be thrilled to pick up the show. "We believe in the 2nd amendment and freedom of speech," he said. "...A&E needs to put on their big boy pants, and if they don´t like the programming, they need to either let ("Duck Dynasty") go or shut up and pay them."

That was fast. Good on them.

It is very nice of A&E to "protect" the gay staffers on the Duck Dynasty show -- i.e., from any perceived insult.

When the Robertson´s leave A&E, these staffers will likely lose their jobs.

The Ducks need to tell A&E to Go to Hades and leave. A&E violated their contract...the Ducks can fight it out in court while they continue with a friendly network.

This PC crap has gotten totally out of control! It is way past time to shove it into the wazoo´s of all that practice it!

The people at A&E/Disney will have to swallow hard to kill the "cash cow" that is the current juggernaut of Duck Dynasty.

Like so many things in this reality-show driven world, it will fade away in its own time.

God´s word is eternal.

the next season beginning in Jan is already in the can. I´d presume, since taping is complete, that Phil is present in all episodes just like always. It would be nearly impossible to excise him from episodes already completed. So A&E has smacked the Robertson clan with a lace glove.

Regarding any other cable outlets looking to pick up the program, DD is an A&E ´´name´´ so it would have to be retitled and per TMZ last week there is a contractual clause that precludes the family from jumping to another cable outlet for a proscribed period of time. I think they said it´s one year.

I don´t have a clue about taping schedules or how far ahead they begin a new season but for now this is all a tempest in a marketing teapot. Phil is right. Phil is wrong. GLAAD is right, GLAAD is wrong. Depending upon your political or faith based POV both sides are heroes or zeros. Either way, the merch will probably continue to sell and the Robertsons will continue to hunt. And the lawyers will continue to make money.

But that all doesn´t mean we´ll continue to tune in on Wed nights. Choices abound...

Unfortunately, it looks like these networks are like ones that are on channel 3465 on the greater Chattanooga cable network. They will be shut out by all the major networks.

Seems to me that once A&E invokes the morals clause for a Biblical quote, the entire contract becomes null and void - including the non-compete clause.

I´m beginning to think there is a lot more going on here than we see.

1. A&E picked the fight with Mr. Robertson; they were there at the taping of this interview, and the interview could have been cut to emphasize the more "hard-line" parts. (Remember the Couric treatment of Palin?)

2. Duck Dynasty morphed from the A&E intention of a show for sophisticated people (presumably like themselves) to laugh at the country cousins living out in the boondocks. But instead, the show resonated with much of America because it demonstrated old-fashioned family values which protected every one in the family (and watching the show) by their stability.

3. Could it be that A&E (with Democrat Party encouragement) wanted to REDUCE the influence of Duck Dynasty (given the rumors of a long contractual commitment by the Robertson family to A&E) in order to lessen its influence on the vote in 2014?

Or is it only that I see the tendency of White House manipulation of public opinion behind just about everything that happens that they perceive to be negative to their long-range goals?

Not necessarily. Depends on whether the contract has a severability clause: a standard boilerplate provision to the effect that if any individual term or condition of the contract is found to be void or unenforceable, all of the remaining ones stay fully in force. Without seeing the document there’s no way to tell.

That said, given all the attendant foofarah, the legal beagles could have some major fun here.

Maybe Atheists&Elitists should keep the twinks and lose the Robertsons entirely and rename the show.

Something like "Ducks Gone Queer" and see how many folks tune in to watch a bunch of cavorting, hot chocolate sipping queens in onsies going "eek!" and saying things approved by Obama and the NYT.

To add to #8´s thought provoking comments, remember when the Mao-loving Anita Dunn bragged that they "controlled the message". Perhaps #8 is sensing a current from the Demonrat party and their boss.

Also, the Mooch spoke so casually about changing out lives, our culture, our history, etc. Surely they will not easily give up their quest for the Fundamental Transformation into a communist or fascist state, one that worships the state over the value of the family.

#5...I think you misunderstood something in your reading. Shows already in the can are just for the remainder of the year. Thus if they air them Phil will be on the show.

New episode taping begins Jan 15th and that is where the suspension would begin.

However, two articles posted today change some things. One is that A&E has relented to the backlash and say Phil may be on the new taping schedule. Yes the word "may" was used but that´s probably to appease the low IQ´d.

By the way, Glenn Beck has also offered to take Duck Dynasty on the Blaze Network as well as other never heard of networks.

Two is Cracker Barrel has relented and all Duck Dynasty products will remain on their shelves. I think their initial reaction was to see what Phil actually said vs what the Media falsely and lies about what he said, to determine their keeping or pulling the products. In the end they made the correct decision. Boycotting for that would really be dumb. Remember first reports of most any story is full of misinformation. To be gullible and short brained to act on first reports proves the gullibility and ignorance of the public. Just like those school shootings, first reports always have a right wing idiot as the culprit when in fact it´s usually a left wing whacko.

People should do homework before barking at the wind. I thought only Liberals were gullible but this entire story has convinced me Conservatives are as gullible and short triggered as the liberals are.

Then we wonder why the country is in a mess. Duhhhhh.

President Obama’s Internal Revenue Service today quietly released a series of Obamacare “Health Care Tax Tips” warning Americans that they must obtain “qualifying” health insurance – as defined by the federal government – or face a “shared responsibility payment” when filing their tax returns in 2015. The term “shared responsibility payment” refers to the Obamacare individual mandate tax, one of at least seven tax hikes in the healthcare law that directly hit families making less than $250,000 per year.
