Al Sharpton´s Chicago Town
Hall Erupts into Revolt
Against Machine Politics

Breitbart´s Big Government, by Rebel Pundit

Original Article

Posted By:mitzi, 12/21/2013 7:37:11 PM

On Thursday, a town hall meeting hosted by Al Sharpton and the National Action Network to address gun violence exploded into a revolt against “Chicago Machine” politics, Mayor Rahm Emanuel, and the aldermen in City Hall, with panel and audience members calling to vote out their elected officials. One 82-year-old preacher even called for “Tea Party” style meetings in some of Chicago’s south side communities such as Altgeld Gardens and Trumbull Park. “This was a historic event,” Paul McKinley of V.O.T.E. (Voices of the Ex-Offender) and former 2nd Congressional District GOP nominee to replace Jesse Jackson, Jr. told Breitbart News.

Comments:
This was certainly surprising to see. Calling for Tea Party style meetings in Chicago? Will wonders ever cease?

Wow!!

~~Perhaps the loudest message—and one that Reverend Al or the Chicago media have yet to report on—echoed by several different people in attendance as well as panel members was that it is time for the black community to start voting differently.

“The manner in which we have been voting needs to change,” Wendy Pearson, an activist against Chicago school closings, told the room. “I’m here to say to you that we have been trained to vote in a specific manner… we need to start looking at the manner in which our elected officials have been voting… if they have not voted in a manner that is beneficial to you, yours, and your community, then you need to start voting them out.”
~~

...wonders never cease!

The psychologists tell us that we must want to change bad habits or live choices, that it must come from within. The person must recognize the need for change, it can´t be forced on them. I think we are beginning to see "the change from within".

It is hard to stop laughing at the thought of Rahm and Al and the Machine getting bashed by Chicago locals.

It is a city where the locals have exactly the government they elected and reelected for nearly a century.

Erm. Unless they´re talking about self-reliance, then they´re just going to vote for another version of Democrats who will throw them some bones (paid for by other people) and reasonably take their votes for granted.

The entire culture has to change. Gang culture has taken over completely where church culture used to bind a community. Churches used to help kids focus on a future, rather than seduce them with a dead end. The politicians and entertainers who get richer and richer off gang culture will never pay the piper for what they´ve encouraged.

I just don´t see the rhetoric that tells me anyone but a handful of people wants change at the core and that´s what needs to happen. It´s got to start from within. Can´t point the finger everywhere else without including yourself.

I think what´s really going on here is these people are seeing their overlords living a much higher lifestyle than they´re getting. The school closings and big teacher layoffs really hit these people between the eyes and people like Rahm don´t suffer similar consequence.
Don´t rule out the fact that these people are severely angry over obama´s failed promises, especially in the field of redistribution. I´ll bet a large chunk of them expected to have a reparations check by now.

Obama and the big left figures they can codify these people through nickle and dime programs when they want a cash payment for their decades of suffering.

I believe it was Gary Bauer who proposed trading reparations for getting rid of welfare. Nobody can possibly believe this would work because the money would be blown in no time and right back to their social service buildings.
