Fox News Channel’s Bill O´Reilly, host of “The O´Reilly Factor,” said Phil Robertson of “Duck Dynasty” fame actually erred with some of his biblically-based comments about the sinfulness of homosexuality. Mr. O´Reilly, a self-proclaimed Christian, honed in on one specific part of Mr. Robertson’s much-publicized quotes in GQ magazine – the condemnation aspect. “Mr. Robertson, I believe, made a mistake by the condemnation line,” he said, Politico reported. “It’s not about the Bible, or believing or not believing in the Bible. I don´t believe any one of us is qualified to say who will and who will or will not be allowed into the kingdom of heaven. God alone will determine that. He has set the standard of behavior and has given specific commandments to follow to find eternal happiness with him. You cannot argue with his word.

Makes me wonder if BOR has ever read any passages of the Bible.

You don´t need to live in a theocracy or have a (third) temple to know what sin is, or what the consequences of unrepentant sins will be. You can simply read it in the Bible.

Seems that GLAD got caught in their lie this time. They changed what Phil said both about homosexuals and also about Jim Crow laws. It is to bad he can’t sue O’Reilly for deformation of character along with all the rest of the MSM that have been lying about what he actually said. He was asked to name sins and he did both for homosexuals and heterosexuals. As far as race goes he said he did not hear any complaints while working with blacks, he never mentioned Jim Crow.
If it weren’t for the lying left wing press and people like O’Reilly that lie to protect Obama and his ilk that have purposely misreported this as they do everything, it would have had no legs. At least it shows the lying left for exactly what they are LIARS

Phil Robertson´s mistake was to trust a liberal publication like GQ. He also used explicit anatomical terms which were completely and utterly unnecessary.

Phil Robertson is absolutely correct. Mr. O´Reilly needs to take out his Bible again and reread Paul´s first epistle to the Corinthians. Specifically, 1 Corinthians 6:9:

"Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God."

Phil didn´t single anyone out. Paul did. Paul singled out those who commit the sins he referred to and stated that they will not inherit the kingdom of God without repentance and forgiveness through Christ. Now, Mr. O´Reilly may not be comfortable talking about sin. Many are not. In an age of so-called tolerance, many who profess to be Christian are uncomfortable referring to certain behavior as sin for fear of offending the sinner. Would that they were as uncomfortable with the sin.

Bill O´Reilly would do well to actually read and reread the source material. Had he done so, he would have seen that Phil had said that condemnation was up to God. As a minister his job is to encourage people to get closer to God.

This situation is useful in many opening their Bibles to verify or deny God´s Word.

Romans 8:1 states - There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

John 3:16 states - God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son and whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit, who now lives within all true believers and He will guide/guard/govern our lives.

Many have a problem with God´s Word and His way - seems everyone wants to go to Heaven, but do not realize Jesus will rule/reign. He never condones sin, never will.

Jesus forgave the prostitute - He said, I do not condemn you, but go and sin no more!

Repentance is the open door to God´s Kingdom!

Not my will, but Thine be done! Amen

We are all created by God but to become His child we need to come, just as we are, repent and receive Jesus as Savior and Lord.

Most sinners wouldn´t feel comfortable in His Heaven. Sad to say, only Hell is the alternative!

We, as Christians, need to pray for the lost! The world/flesh/Devil are the enemies!

When it comes to spiritual matters and the bible, O´Reilly demonstrates his ignorance about what the bible says. He could read and study the bible himself, but he does not come across as someone who has done that.

I was so mad at O´Reilly...The very point he was making about the judgement of a persons soul is God´s alone...was exactly what Robertson said.

He and Bernie Goldberg would do well to watch "The Five" for his show prep. They might learn something and save themselves some embarrassment.

The Bible has away of making us uncomfortable because it shows us clearly how much we fall short and are creatures who find sin comfortable. Phil is not the author of the Bible. He is merely telling us what it says. He is a no nonsense kind of guy who believes what the Word of God says. It is we who take offense because we don´t want to admit that we are sinners. It is the first step, however, in reconciliation with God. We must admit we fall short. Then we can accept the gift Jesus provided for us. Recognizing our need of a savior is the first step and it is an important one. People will accept Christians as long as they don´t point out why they are in need of a savior. That is the point where their tolerance is tested. Bill O´Reilly no doubt, doesn´t want to hear that.

Disingenuous Bill. He sets up a strawman (like his buddy Obama), then knocks it down. Robertson was careful to state that his faith says certain things are wrong and he agrees. But he also says just as his faith demands to love the sinner and hate the sin. O´Reilly is so enamored of his own self that he lies in order to make his show better. That may work for the lofo´s but not for everyone. His arrogance, rudeness,stupidity and false characterizations are really turning his viewers off.

I wore out on O´Reilly´s pronouncements and haven´t invested any of my time watching his show for about three years now.

Glad my son pointed me to Duck Dynasty about a year ago. I truly enjoy the Robertson family. But then again, I am an old guy that enjoys shows about American family life--sort of like "Father Knows Best" was.

A caveat right off the bat: RAND’s estimate only runs through March 28 whereas the actual deadline for signing up was March 31st. Given the crush of traffic on Healthcare.gov in late March, many more people could have signed up over those last three days than were captured by these numbers.
