Conservatives must own
their place in the GOP

Santa Clarita Valley Signal, by Alice Khosravy

As we look back on 2013, it will likely be remembered as the year the rubber began hitting the road with regards to Obamacare. The failure of the website was epic, but it is minutia compared to the flaws in the law. This year we learned “whatever you had, you probably can’t keep it.” There is a resounding fear in the air that the worst is yet to come. As the year drew to a close, the establishment in the GOP decided it was time to declare open warfare on the conservative wing of the party. The establishment disdain for the grassroots is

Those who were once proud Republicans and those who are unhappy with the Republican Establishment must not allow their vote to be held hostage anymore.

Insist your vote must be earned. If you fall for the "if you don´t vote you must want a democrat to win" argument you are part of the problem no matter how much you may deny it.

The Republican Establishment will not change nor be deterred from continuing to spend your money and damning America´s future until you prove to them there is a consequence for their actions. You have only one way to do this. Don´t

We need to find those individuals who have chosen to serve because they feel it is their duty to utilize their talents, drive, and training for the general good. It seems the military and small business innovators are the logical places to look. We need to involve the community both to increase scrutiny of candidates in primaries and identify potential candidates.

Nearly Two Thirds of 2013 Government
Waste, Fraud Came from HHS

The estimated amount of taxpayer-funded payments that the federal government doled out through fraud, waste, and errors slightly decreased in 2013 to $106 billion from $108 billion the previous year, according to the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB). On Dec. 31, FederalTimes.com reported the estimated government-wide improper payments dollar figure for fiscal 2013, citing Frank Benenati, an OMB spokesman as the source. Benenati did not provide a breakdown of the 2013 payment errors by government program, saying that information would not be available for weeks, according to the FederalTimes.com article.

In like a lion, out like a lamb—or, it began with a growl, but ended with a whimper! What did? Why, Global Warming, naturally. Of course, it wasn’t supposed to end like this! Midwest wind-chill temperatures could hit -70° tonight, as meteorologists predict the lowest readings in decades. Meanwhile, in the arctic, pinned near glaciers, a second ice breaker must be freed by the US Coast Guard. This, after the first ice-breaker became trapped while attempting to rescue a research ship cruising to the South Pole to prove Global Warming! The marooned research ship only served to highlight the fact that

Government Could Shut Down

While members of Congress ended 2013 congratulating themselves for passing a budget, the media missed the fact that the agreement doesn´t actually avoid a government shutdown. The deal reached by Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) and Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA) provides simply a blueprint for government spending. Congress must still pass legislation detailing specific spending before January 15, when government´s spending authority expires. Government still faces a potential shutdown in a little over a week. The budget agreement passed by Congress in the closing days of last year provides what is called the "top-Line" number, setting the overall level of discretionary spending.

Former Rep. Steven LaTourette (R-OH), now the head of the GOP establishment outfit The Main Street Partnership (MSP), may be engaged in illegal activity, the New York Times’ Eric Lipton reported on Saturday. LaTourette is, as Lipton wrote, “one of the top generals in the establishment Republicans’ war against the Tea Party.” MSP, Lipton wrote, is a “corporate-backed advocacy group,” and LaTourette has helped it “raise millions of dollars to protect centrist Republicans from Tea Party challengers.” LaTourette and his wife have also established another lobbying firm across the street from the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.; a firm that

After ringing in the new year resolving to help Americans make government as irrelevant as possible, former Alaska Gov. She related how Richard Nixon´s presidency was ended once reporters busted him for spying, but Obama is celebrated even though one of his hallmarks has been the National Security Agency widespread spying programs. GOP strategists are urging restraint in the upcoming debt-ceiling fight. They are excited by the prospect of reclaiming the Senate in November’s midterms elections but anxious about the party’s capacity to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, as amply illustrated in recent campaign cycles. Congress must vote to raise the $17 trillion debt ceiling sometime in February or March. In the past, Republicans have looked to extract major concessions, such as dollar-for-dollar spending cuts. That has many in the party looking to go small this time around, arguing that the top priority must be locking up electoral gains in November. Those gains, they

The political dynamics as we head into 2014 seem ideal for Republicans. But we all know Republicans are experts at shooting themselves in the foot, largely because they seem intent on silencing the people who most believe in the ideals that are supposed to be those of the GOP. I’m talking specifically about the Tea Party, which the GOP establishment fears because we’re really talking about the divide between the political class and the working class. If you don’t believe the political class is distancing itself from the working class, you haven’t been paying attention. Look at all the ObamaCare

Early last summer in her Georgian-style home near Washington’s Embassy Row, Hillary Clinton met with a handful of aides for a detailed presentation on preparing for a 2016 presidential campaign. Three officials from the Democratic consulting firm Dewey Square Group — veteran field organizer Michael Whouley, firm founder Charlie Baker and strategist Jill Alper, whose expertise includes voter attitudes toward women candidates — delivered a dispassionate, numbers-driven assessment. They broke down filing deadlines in certain states, projected how much money Clinton would need to raise and described how field operations have become more sophisticated in the era of Barack Obama.

The phrase is a racial slur for an interracial couple.
