The PC Lynching of Phil Robertson
PJ Media, by Roger L Simon

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 12/20/2013 1:43:17 PM

The A&E Network’s suspension of Phil Robertson, star of the most popular reality show in the history of television, for espousing views on homosexuality identical to those found in the New Testament may not be the first PC lynching in the history of our country, but it is certainly now the most prominent. It is also a singular example of how political correctness, via cultural relativism, is used to undermine democracy and freedom of speech and is, at its core, fascistic. Yes, I just used the f-word and quite deliberately. PC and cultural relativism are the godchildren of Martin Heidegger

The amount of ink and network time spent on a remark in answer to a question is staggering. Too bad there is not just as much time spent on the lies, constitution perverting, corrupt administration as have been already spent on one individual who has not harmed anyone. Can the Obama say as much??

People have been killed under this administration. Has Robertson harmed anyone?
Not to my knowledge.

Simon is correct. Imagine their agenda taken to its ultimate result -- "... working in complete opposition to the Bill of Rights...". Who would suffer first and most from a fascist state?

As other comments have said here, for those extremists, political correctness only applies to their (minority) opinions and remarks.

For what it´s worth:
My understanding is that the ´Duck Dynasty´ brand is owned by A&E, but the ´Duck Commander´ brand is owned by the Robertson family.
Might be worth factoring into any purchasing decisions.

I am sure that A&E will want to replace Duck Dynasty with Kim Kardashian and the dysfunctional family she belongs to. Oh wait, maybe the could do a dysfunctional housewives of (Name the City) but it would be divorced, surgically enhanced group of witches with their equally bratty kids. Now that is what would be acceptable to those in the entertainment industry.

Listening to Rush´s substitute host today, who happened to be Eric Erickson (sp?),
it sounded as though he maybe misspoke (sp?) at one point...

Leading me to consider...

Will the gay community retaliate for perceived insult/s...
by having their own "Reality Show"... ?
Such as...
"Dick Dynasty"... ??

Then I heard on the news that prostitution is legal in Canada...
So will the prostitutes have a show... ?
"Eff Dynasty".... ?

Messing with the formula of your top performing product is never a good idea. A&E will pay dearly for this mistake. By attempting to appease a tiny part of the population, they are alienating the mainstream. Stupid.

I am really enjoying watching this unfold. It´s more fun that watching the Gay Mafia get their heads handed to them in the Chick-fil-a boycott. Way more fun. The owners of Chick-fil-a were quiet, unassuming, non-public entities whom you wouldn´t recognize if one of them knocked on your font door.

The Robertsons are "out there."

The Light In The Loafers set can take on God in a cake shop in Denver, and perhaps attain a small victory, but their gun-to-the-head tactics just doesn´t translate to taking on the People´s Favorite Chicken Sandwich, or the Robertsons Ducks. Something fowl in that fight.

I just read that the DD marathon viewership numbers for last night are down by 6.4 million. Supposedly the DD numbers have been somewhere between 9 - 11 million for this season.

One aspect of this incident is how large corporations have become the enforcement arm of the government and the Party of government, the Democrats. While the government cannot punish you for speech owing to the first amendment, your company can fire you since it is nominally prvate. And since all large companies are beholding to the government under our system of crony capitalism, they will do what the party of government wants.

For those who actually ever watch anything on the "mainstream" television channels, you would get the idea that Blacks make up the majority of the American population, followed by "gay" White people. Conservatives and Christians are only represented there as someone to ridicule, denigrate, and make fun of. If the American people would stop watching the garbage they present, they would soon discover that the majority of us are still Bible-believing, Christian, conservatives. We just don´t have a voice, because the media have been taken over by East Coast and Left Coast liberals.

My husband had a good point. Besides writing to A&E, we need to write the sponsors of Duck Dynasty. They´re the ones who bankroll the program. If we tell them we will no longer buy their products maybe they´ll put pressure on the folks at A&E. Money talks.

The Robertsons were rich before Duck Dynasty they didn´t need A&E. A&E tried previously to slice and dice the show with phony beeps where vulgarities didn´t exist and taking God out of the thanks for food now this. A&E chose to kill the goose/duck that lays the golden eggs for what? A group of whining minority losers with mental problems?
The Robertsons should walk out and go to GAC. Leave A&E to their suicide mission. What will A&E replace it with VaginaDynasty? That should be a large viewership. Move out of the way when PC liberals are shooting themselves.

A large segment of the population? Homosexuals make up less than 2% of Americans or roughly 5.5 million people. There are about 260 million Christians in this country.

Yes, A&E has the right to fire anyone they wish, but how stupid do you have to be to insult the vast majority of your customers in order to appease a few whining misfits?

I don´t know about the rest of you, but as a white Christian I´m sick of being used as the left´s punching bag. I´m offended by homosexuals constantly shoving their agenda in my face and I´m tired of being targeted by them for their vitriol.

Merry CHRISTmas, everyone!

Spoke with a few of my co-workers during my break today--I was not the one who brought it up. My gay male friend, who is pretty liberal, thought it was stupid and was not offended at all. In fact, he was rather ticked off about it and prefers everyone just grow up and stop with the PC and everyone´s offended meme. A young black gal also said she disagreed with the suspension, so go figure--I don´t watch the show but both if them do. I haven´t run into anyone who sides with A&E and this is only going to hurt the whole PC business, which is a good thing.

According to one poster that Phil guy is really evil. Well, is there any of us here who has not done something in our lives we are ashamed of? As for Phil not "apologizing", I know, Americans live and die by the apology these days, well, that´s his business too. And what he did 40 years ago? Well, 40 years ago I was no saint either. The question is, what is he doing now? He´s spreading the gospel, that´s what, and and he´s not ashamed of it. Marc Antony said the evil that men do live after them, the good is oft interred with their bones. Man will keep your evil deeds alive but God buries them. Just remember, poster, every saint has a past and every sinner has a future. Thank God, He doesnt remember the things I´ve done. Selah.

Jesus told the Apostles: “…and you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.” ~Matthew 10:22 “…You will be hated by all for my name’s sake.” ~Luke 21:17 And Jesus commanded the Apostles to, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you...” ~Matthew 28:16-20

Christians are “disciples” of Jesus and responsible for abiding by, and perpetuating all that Jesus taught.

Harvey Levin, owner of the website, TMZ, who happens to be gay, sides with Papa Duke. He said it was well recorded that he was outspoken in his ideas and this was part of the total package. Furthermore, the handler for TMZ was not present when these comments were made to the reporter. As the interview was made 3 months ago, there is DD marathon coming up I am sensing a misfire. Someone did really miscalculated. Is A&E so beholden to GLAAD they will give up 400 million in earnings? Looks like it.

#15, perhaps Phil did not go back to the couple he harmed because of a court settlement--particularly since an exchange of money occurred. Sometimes, people are ordered not to contact or go near the victim(s) again.

Also, Phil is quite open about his sinful past, unlike most of us who try to hide from ours.

If homosexuals truly believed that what they do behind closed doors (Usually. I have seen gay sex on hotel balconies, etc.) was right, they wouldn´t be so cranky and sensitive about criticism of it. They may be out of the closet but they are only one step away from shame and guilt and it shows. The lady doth protest too much. (Thanks, Will)

RE: #15- Phil did not insult a large segement of our population. Inf act, he insulted (if he insulted anyone) a very tiny but terribly vocal minority of our population. Activist and closet gays only account for about 1.5% of the entire population. That does not include the so-called "experiementals" who test the water and go back to being straight. Be that as it may, Phil knows his bible and what he said has been way aboused in this firestorm. He did not compare homsexual activity to beastiality. He was merely listing types of behavior that the bible calls a sin and how it can lead to (in his own opinion) devincy and loss of human self respect. I understood his words and his meaning perfectly. GQ even placed a proper comma in the "controversial" sentence. But, as usual, the LSM has taken it and run the story according to their own beloved agenda.

Tonight, we may actually be witnessing the first steps in the beat-back as the public at large, conveninently dismissed by the extremists who control our social progress, begins to fight back.

A&E may be the opening battle ground of that fight. But, I sincerely hope no matter what, it is the fight we have delayed for so long.

My recall of A n E was that it was all-egghead, allthetime at the beginning. Vids of Orchestras, ballet, boring plays. So the move into pop culture as over the last 30 yrs was due to the core audience dying off and now it is looking for the dough. But I think DD is a mockery of a lifestyle. How the AE-ers thin Americans are.

Sending scores of armed agents along with helicopters and dogs to confront an elderly Nevada rancher over grazing fees may seem like overkill, but critics say it’s not inconsistent with the federal government’s recent approach to environmental enforcement. The simmering truce between the Bundys and the Bureau of Land Management comes after high-profile raids last year by armed federal agents on small-time gold miners in tiny Chicken, Alaska, and guitar makers at the Gibson Guitar facilities in Tennessee. That doesn’t include more subtle threats, such as recent efforts by the Obama administration to raise grazing fees or pressure

Rep. Joe Garcia (D-Fla.) is among the Democrats pressing Congress to take up immigration reform. On Tuesday, he told a conference call that deportations are breaking families apart and leaving children in foster care. "So the human toll has been horrific. But they might become citizens if Garcia and other immigration advocates get their way. Democrats are urging Republicans to sign their discharge petition, which would force a House vote on

Thank God for Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration J. Russell George. His investigation of what turned out to be the IRS abuse scandal may well have saved the Constitution and the nation. For his fair and impartial investigation into the Internal Revenue Service’s abuse of Americans who dissent from President Obama’s agenda, Democrats have called for an investigation of him. George should not be investigated, but perhaps the Democrats who want him investigated — Reps. Gerry Connolly (D-VA) and Matt Cartwright (D-PA) — should be. Whatever the burning political question of the day, millions of Americans have relished the opportunity to tune into Rush’s program, knowing that he would quickly take that hot potato, throw a few gallons of verbal kerosene into the mix and elevate the matter into a five alarm fire with a just a few well-chosen words spoken in the style only Rush Limbaugh could

Less than a minute into his speech at the Boston marathon bombing memorial on Tuesday, Vice President Joe Biden went tragically off script and told the crowd of Boston bombing survivors that "it was worth it." After expressing how impressed he was with the tribute, he said somberly, "let me say to those ´quote survivors,´ my God, you have survived and you have soared. It was worth it. I mean this sincerely - just to hear each of you speak. You´re truly, truly inspiring." The audience sat in stunned silence until Biden declared, "I´ve never heard anything so beautiful than

Casual marijuana use may come with some not-so-casual side effects. For the first time ever, researchers at Northwestern University have analyzed the relationship between casual use of marijuana and brain changes – and found that young adults who used cannabis just once or twice a week showed significant abnormalities in two important brain structures. The study’s findings, to be published Wednesday in the Journal of Neuroscience, are similar to those of past research linking chronic, long-term marijuana use with mental illness and changes in brain development. Dr. Hans Breiter, co-senior study author, said he was inspired to look at the effects of casual

Look, everyone loves Sean Connery, particularly Sean Connery. That’s why he plays Sean Connery in every movie he’s in. People love that Scottish brogue so much, they don’t mind that he has it when he plays Juan Sánchez Villa-Lobos Ramírez, an immortal Spaniard in Highlander. The guy even won an Oscar for playing an Irish cop with a Scottish accent. Talk about sexist double standards: Meryl Streep has to master foreign dialects to get her golden statuettes. Connery just has to show up on time. In economics you devalue a currency by printing too much of it. In film you

Toddlers show racial bias when picking playmates, a study reveals. They also take account of how fairly others behave. Researchers tested the reaction of white 15-month-olds as toys were distributed. Two white adults divided the toys, one equally and the other unequally. Seventy per cent of the toddlers chose to play with the researcher who distributed the toys fairly. But in a second test, when one researcher favoured a white recipient over an Asian one, they picked the ‘fair’ researcher less often, the journal Frontiers in Psychology reports. And the babies are more likely to help those who share the same ethnicity, which is known as

Hank Aaron’s recent comments about the need for America to realize that racism is still very much alive and thriving — only now due to those who wear “neckties and starched shirts” rather than KKK hoods — has sparked an angry backlash and many fans are turning the tables, calling the baseball legend himself a racist. “Hank Aaron is a s*****g piece of [expletive] [racial slur],” one man said in an email to the Atlanta Braves’ front office, one of the teams Mr. Aaron used to play for, CBS News reported. “My old man instilled in my mind from a

Western Washington University sent a questionnaire to students asking them for advice on how the administration could succeed at making sure that in future years, “we are not as white as we are today.” The question notes that WWU’s racial make up does not perfectly reflect the nation at large, and asks students to consider strategies that other universities have used to focus on skin color as the paramount indicator of a student-applicant’s worth. The president of WWU has stated that his explicit goal is to reduce the white population on campus, according to Campus Reform. “I’ve said before and I’ll say it

How do you ensure that you won’t be ostracized, denounced, or fired if you are a media celebrity, captain of industry, or high public official? For some, sexist banter is certainly no problem. Stand-up comedian Bill Maher called Sarah Palin a c–t and a tw-t, but suffered no ill consequences. David Letterman joked on air that Sarah Palin’s 14-year-old daughter had had sex with Alex Rodriguez during a New York Yankees game. There was no downside to that either. President Obama tosses around “sweetie” as he wishes. No problem with that. No one believes Barack could be condescending to women.

When President Obama needed a preacher to fulfill the closing prayer duties at the annual White House Easter Prayer Breakfast, he turned to none other than the Episcopal Church’s first openly gay bishop — who said he was as shocked as anyone at the appointment. The Right Rev. Gene Robinson said in a tweet, accompanied by a photo of Mr. Obama behind a podium at the event: “POTUS ‘preaches’ at the Easter prayer breakfast. Then, out of the blue, asks ME to close with prayer. OMG!” Newsmax said he also emphasized that the words he chose to close the breakfast

WASHINGTON — Former President Jimmy Carter joined fellow Nobel laureates Wednesday in opposing Keystone XL, insisting that approving the pipeline would trigger “more climate upheaval” around the globe. In an open letter to President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry, Carter and the nine other Nobel Peace Prize winners bluntly warned the leaders: “Your decision on the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline will define your climate legacy.” The missive, published as an advertisement in Politico, represents the first time Carter has taken a position on the $5.4 billion project and makes him the first former president to come
