We Should Ridicule Duck Dynasty
Star’s Views on Homosexuality;
But Suspend Him? Come On.

Mediaite, by Andrew Kirell

Hours after we reported that Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson dropped some illogical “logic” on homosexuality during his GQ interview, his home network A&E decided to indefinitely suspend him from the show. While Robertson’s comments were hilariously ignorant, they were predictable — especially given his family’s socially-conservative, Bible-loving image. Suspending the lead character for his wholly predictable comments is not only an overreaction but a gross misstep. To recap: The Duck Commander patriarch remarked to the men’s magazine that homosexuality is on par with bestiality, and used fifth-grade “logic” to imply that homosexual men should give up their ways of choosing a

Even those at Mediaite can´t see the wisdom of this suspension, even though his arguments against Robinson are rather harsh and critical. It seems only leftists are correct in their opinions on homosexuality. "Social conservatism" is not allowed or condoned.

I agree with Phil Robertson. Gay sex isn´t natural.

It just isn´t. Get over it.

He is entitled to his opinion. But typical leftwing. When are Conservatives going to fight back and shut them down for once?

The left shames anyone who doesn´t agree with them and their freakish viewpoints.

What Mediaite sees is that this is going to backfire big time on leftists - that they have stepped way over the line, and that decent people may finally have had a craw full of their kind of "tolerance". The ignorant powers that be at A&E may have done all decent people a big favor by suspending Phil Robertson.

FTA: "All this A&E suspension does is give ammo to the culture warriors like Fox’s Todd Starnes or AFA’s Bryan Fischer who genuinely believe there is a “gay agenda” coming after “good Christians” in popular culture. While they inflate that so-called “war” to a hilarious degree, this sort of incident gives them unwarranted credibility for the next time they cry wolf."

90% of the humor on DD is tongue in cheek and self-deprecating, taking a ludicrous point and arguing about it in fun. "Hilariously ignorant"? Uh, the operative word there is "hilariously." Mr. Kirell completely misses the joke, as does everyone else with absolutely no sense of humor about homosexuality, or sexuality in general for that matter. Who was it that commented that God must have one terrific sense of humor to have devised such a ridiculous way for us to reproduce?

My favorite is still the duck pond in the loading dock. I still laugh when I think about it, it is so stupid.

Mr. Kirell considers himself enlightened because he condones homosexuality. So, that makes the rest of us who don´t Neanderthals in his eyes. What a tolerant, un judgmental man. I believe The book of Romans describes such people, "Professing to be wise, they became fools." He´s incredibly condescending. Why ridicule as that tends to make one think you can´t really argue against Phil´s points only, like a bully, belittle him.

Me thinks that this whole issue will blow up in the Left´s face.

If we want to change attitudes about homosexuality, it’s probably best not to advocate for the silencing or suspension of every single backwards thinker. Instead, we should have a rigorous debate and allow rational, humanistic thought to prevail over the reductive, knee-jerked anti-gay rhetoric of social conservatism.

Why do they want to change attitudes? Why does it matter to them what we think/believe?

My guess is just the fact that we are here thinking and believing as we do - it´s a threat to them. They are afraid of us. We don´t have to say a word - our mere existence reminds them that what they are doing is against natural law.

If we weren´t a threat - they wouldn´t care.

Dear A&E Management,

Please know that I support your right to handle your TV programming in a manner as you see fit. Similarly, Phil Robertson is also entitled to his views. I am quite weary of the bias on freedom of speech, religious liberty and of the media´s war on Christianity. I was hopeful that you were respectful to all views.

Please know that unless very significant acts of contrition soon come forth from you, I will not be supporting A&E for the foreseeable future.

Next we need to find their major sponsors and let them know we will not be buying their products, and why.

As for the GAY community, you are sick spiritually and physically. You are an abomination to God.

Folks please tie up the phone lines and emails to CBS and let them know you do not appreciate their Suspension of Phil. If I were the folks at Duck Dynasty, I would sue CBS for Breach of Contract and then take their highly rated reality series to another producer.

A Pox on the Gay Community we will push back against you unnatural acts and your design to become legitimate in American Culture, you are not.

I´ve never watched DD but have followed Phil´s business for many years.
You´ve not caused a hiccup in his life or in mine by your recent decision regarding Phil.
Phil embodies what should be celebrated in America. You do not.
Phil produces.
Your absence from American TV life would not even be noted.
Phil cares about people.
You care about opinions.
I´m less than impressed by those who think they are smarter than everyone else - perhaps TV producers come from some dimension secret from the rubes they throw their trash at?
I don´t watch TV so maybe I don´t get how cutting your own throat, stomping the golden goose, and throwing your greatest success into the burn barrel - is smart?

Phil just quoted what is written in the BIBLE. I do not judge or condemn anyone BUT I stand on the Word of God. I do not believe we should condemn anyone, and I do not believe Phil was condemning anyone either. Phil just said he prefers women over men in his PHIL ways. I am mature enough to appreciate that. But many are just arrogant and too stupid to see that.
BUT ultimately God will deal with each and every individual who has rejected Him and His Word. God´s Word states "Woe unto them who says good is evil and evil good" God will deal with all of it when the time of times comes and NO GOVERNMENT or pretended laws will stop GOD. In that, we can take comfort.

Sending scores of armed agents along with helicopters and dogs to confront an elderly Nevada rancher over grazing fees may seem like overkill, but critics say it’s not inconsistent with the federal government’s recent approach to environmental enforcement. The simmering truce between the Bundys and the Bureau of Land Management comes after high-profile raids last year by armed federal agents on small-time gold miners in tiny Chicken, Alaska, and guitar makers at the Gibson Guitar facilities in Tennessee. That doesn’t include more subtle threats, such as recent efforts by the Obama administration to raise grazing fees or pressure

For his fair and impartial investigation into the Internal Revenue Service’s abuse of Americans who dissent from President Obama’s agenda, Democrats have called for an investigation of him. George should not be investigated, but perhaps the Democrats who want him investigated — Reps. Gerry Connolly (D-VA) and Matt Cartwright (D-PA) — should be. Casual marijuana use may come with some not-so-casual side effects. For the first time ever, researchers at Northwestern University have analyzed the relationship between casual use of marijuana and brain changes – and found that young adults who used cannabis just once or twice a week showed significant abnormalities in two important brain structures. The study’s findings, to be published Wednesday in the Journal of Neuroscience, are similar to those of past research linking chronic, long-term marijuana use with mental illness and changes in brain development. Dr. Hans Breiter, co-senior study author, said he was inspired to look at the effects of casual

Look, everyone loves Sean Connery, particularly Sean Connery. That’s why he plays Sean Connery in every movie he’s in. People love that Scottish brogue so much, they don’t mind that he has it when he plays Juan Sánchez Villa-Lobos Ramírez, an immortal Spaniard in Highlander. The guy even won an Oscar for playing an Irish cop with a Scottish accent. Talk about sexist double standards: Meryl Streep has to master foreign dialects to get her golden statuettes. Connery just has to show up on time. In economics you devalue a currency by printing too much of it. In film you

Toddlers show racial bias when picking playmates, a study reveals. They also take account of how fairly others behave. Researchers tested the reaction of white 15-month-olds as toys were distributed. Two white adults divided the toys, one equally and the other unequally. Seventy per cent of the toddlers chose to play with the researcher who distributed the toys fairly. But in a second test, when one researcher favoured a white recipient over an Asian one, they picked the ‘fair’ researcher less often, the journal Frontiers in Psychology reports. And the babies are more likely to help those who share the same ethnicity, which is known as

Hank Aaron’s recent comments about the need for America to realize that racism is still very much alive and thriving — only now due to those who wear “neckties and starched shirts” rather than KKK hoods — has sparked an angry backlash and many fans are turning the tables, calling the baseball legend himself a racist. “Hank Aaron is a s*****g piece of [expletive] [racial slur],” one man said in an email to the Atlanta Braves’ front office, one of the teams Mr. Aaron used to play for, CBS News reported. “My old man instilled in my mind from a

Western Washington University sent a questionnaire to students asking them for advice on how the administration could succeed at making sure that in future years, “we are not as white as we are today.” The question notes that WWU’s racial make up does not perfectly reflect the nation at large, and asks students to consider strategies that other universities have used to focus on skin color as the paramount indicator of a student-applicant’s worth. The president of WWU has stated that his explicit goal is to reduce the white population on campus, according to Campus Reform. “I’ve said before and I’ll say it

How do you ensure that you won’t be ostracized, denounced, or fired if you are a media celebrity, captain of industry, or high public official? For some, sexist banter is certainly no problem. Stand-up comedian Bill Maher called Sarah Palin a c–t and a tw-t, but suffered no ill consequences. David Letterman joked on air that Sarah Palin’s 14-year-old daughter had had sex with Alex Rodriguez during a New York Yankees game. There was no downside to that either. President Obama tosses around “sweetie” as he wishes. No problem with that. No one believes Barack could be condescending to women.

When President Obama needed a preacher to fulfill the closing prayer duties at the annual White House Easter Prayer Breakfast, he turned to none other than the Episcopal Church’s first openly gay bishop — who said he was as shocked as anyone at the appointment. The Right Rev. Gene Robinson said in a tweet, accompanied by a photo of Mr. Obama behind a podium at the event: “POTUS ‘preaches’ at the Easter prayer breakfast. Then, out of the blue, asks ME to close with prayer. OMG!” Newsmax said he also emphasized that the words he chose to close the breakfast

WASHINGTON — Former President Jimmy Carter joined fellow Nobel laureates Wednesday in opposing Keystone XL, insisting that approving the pipeline would trigger “more climate upheaval” around the globe. In an open letter to President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry, Carter and the nine other Nobel Peace Prize winners bluntly warned the leaders: “Your decision on the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline will define your climate legacy.” The missive, published as an advertisement in Politico, represents the first time Carter has taken a position on the $5.4 billion project and makes him the first former president to come
